  1. Depends on the surgeon. Mine is scheduled to be done at the same time.
  2. I'm going from lap-band to sleeve tomorrow! I still have to pack, but I know I will for sure bring a pair of slippers and pj bottoms. Good luck everyone!
  3. Oikos is delicious, honey has no chunks.
  4. Possibly, if you still have a rash you would need to be in isolation so they may not do it with an elective surgery. It would be a good idea to get in contact with your surgeon to find out. Good luck!
  5. I love Oikos greek yogurt when I want something sweet. 12g protein!
  6. The scar near my port is the largest and is pink in color. The other much smaller scars have more of dark color to them. As you heal they may change color.
  7. Does anyone have a lag time from when you feel full to the time your stomach stops growling? It seems like I get to a full point but it takes the lower part of the stomach to get the message? Am I waiting to long to eat?
  8. I don't get my next fill until march 27th.
  9. Hi, This site can be so encouraging! I have really been struggling lately. I got my band Jan 4th and have had one fill so far. I just have been making terrible food choices. It's like pre band but I am getting back on track and reading everyone's thoughts and struggles really help. Thanks!
  10. I find that I am way more restricted in the morning so I try to adjust what I eat accordingly. Don't cross off certain foods off your list just yet since you are only 4 weeks out you could be healing still and some foods might be too much for right now. Good Luck.
  11. Get another opinion, why wait? If your like most of us you've been overweight for a good chunk of time. If your insurance requires 6months of documented weight loss you can work on that but you need a doctor who can document this on a regular basis, not in a couple months. Good Luck!

Do the Zumba DVD's work? Is anyone using them and getting results?
  13. Walk, walk, walk and walk some more and use your pain meds, good luck!
  14. My doctor says no gum but I thought it had to do with extra air getting in the stomach.
  15. I'm so glad you posted this because I'm feeling the same way!
  16. I also think this sounds hormonal, I take Prozac 2 weeks before my period for this issue. The ob/gyn will be a good place to start if they think this could be part of your problem. Good Luck!
  17. I also had surgery 8 days ago and feel really good. I know what you mean about feeling tired during the pre-op diet, I was really tired and didn't have alot of energy but I feel really good now. Hang in there it will get better!
  18. I'm getting banded on Jan 4th also. I feel more at ease as the day gets closer, so I am thankful for that, but I think I am looking forward to being done with these shakes! I will have to admit when I saw the latest People at the news stand I felt that slight doubt of why can't I just lose the weight on my own.( The issue has the stories of people who have lost weight without surgery). I am confident that i am making the right decision.
  19. Every Dr. is different, I have to do a 2week protein shake liquid diet before surgery. I am on day 11 and it is rough at times, but like anything else after the fact you realize that is wasn't that long. I will be happy to use other forms of protein though
  20. I start my preop shakes tomorrow and I too have to do 2 weeks worth , good luck and hang in there!
  21. You need to get your body into ketosis so its burning your bodyfat for fuel and in turn shrinking the liver.
