Had my surgery yesterday, no major pain, up and walking and feeling pretty good!

God, I pray for my sister. We thank you for a successful surgery tomorrow and that you are with her throughout this process. Guide the hands of the doctors and minister to the nurses and staff as they perform their duties. We thank you, Father, for speedy recovery and that there will be no pneumonia or any other complications. We thank you that you make all things new. In your name we pray, amen.

Just got back from my preop appointment, met with surgeon and anesthesiologist. This is it! I'm a little nervous. I can't think too long about it, or I freak out. I am so grateful for this forum because there is no support group close to home for me, so reading these posts and seeing pic have kept me motivated and moving forward through this process and keeping me from losing what little mind I have left! Anyway, the time winding up, Jan 16 is my re-birthday!

It takes courage to make the decison to have wls. People who don't know what you go through will never have any idea of what it takes to make the decision and go through the process of losing weight by vsg. Find yourself a small group to support you on your journey, people who will help you work out your challenges and Celebrate your victories. As for anyone who is not supportive, I wouldn't even talk about the subject with them. If they bring it up, don't get upset-just say you don't wish to discuss it change the subject or walk away. I have a core group of people, including my husband and a couple of good friends, who have walked with me through my pre op process. I haven't told my own parents because I know it will cause a problem. You have to do what is good for you,because no one has to live this but you. Blessings and peace to you on your journey.

Well, after 15 months of working through the approval process, I have my surgery date, Jan 14th! I am so excited, I don't have words to explain it.
