  1. Thanks! I don't see the link or signature. Maybe bc I'm on my phone?
  2. Honestly I feel like I jumped in so quickly thinking this would be a magic fix. It wasn't. I don't really understand what restriction is. I do get food stuck ever so often so wouldn't that mean I have restriction? But I am constantly hungry What kind of dr do I see? There are no bariatric surgeons anywhere within 2 hours of me and to go see the on two hours from me requires $2500 for them to start seeing you for a Lapband they didn't do I think the place where I can get a full could help though.
  3. I got a band in 2011. I had no success. But I know that's on me. But I'm ready to use it now. I'm just not sure what to do. Do I go get a fill? We don't live in the same town or near where I got it done. All fills will be out of pocket, but I can deal with that. I really don't understand how to use the band and how it's supposed to help. I've had to fills and never had any restriction. I do still get food stuck ever so often, but I never have restriction. Any advice?

  5. Right I get that, but what's the difference between 30 minutes after? seems like the food would wash down then and you'd be hungry again.
  6. Per my surgeons orders, I am not to drink 30 min before or after eating. The reason so that the food sitting in the pouch won't just wash through defeating the purpose of the band to help you feel not hungry throughout the day. But won't the food just wash through after that 30 min anyway? I don't get it
  7. A lot of it was my schedule and the fill clinic. There is only one place to get it here so I had to go off his schedule and it was just difficult. I wouldn't say I had will power though
  8. Just had my first fill. That was not bad AT ALL. I was scared. I wasn't numbed or anything and it was simple. He put in 2.5 cc and after drinking Water I can feel it, but not bad. He said he would be a little aggressive for the first one, but if in the morning, I am too tight we need to take some out. I have lost 15 pounds since I started by band journey, so I guess I am not a complete failure even though i've eaten like I wanted for about 8 months.
  9. "Without any stomach cutting or stapling, the LAP-BAND® System reduces your stomach’s capacity, restricting the amount of food you are able to eat at one time. Plus, you feel full faster and stay full longer, so you wind up eating less." Sounds like it's supposed to restrict the amount you can eat.
  10. I have read what you said over and over on this site when I searched, but that's not what I was told and that's not what's on the lapband website in their videos. So that has me discouraged. I didn't do this to do a diet. I did it to give me a tool to eat less and that's what I was promised through the lapband website http://www.lapband.com/en/live_healthy_lapband/about_adjustments/ and through my surgeon.
  11. I haven't gone because of time honestly. I can't believe how busy my business has gotten them my office cancelled 3 times. I am not sure about the first 2, but the last was because the needles were back ordered, but going in 2 hours! I feel like everyone prepared me for the after, but I don't think I believed them. I am kind of lost at this point. I am scared that if I don't have some restriction I will just keep eating. But if I have some restriction I won't. Hopefully that makes sense.
  12. Today I go for my first fill. I've gained every bit of weight I lost from pre and post opp. The band is doing nothing. Will fills help? I don't regret the surgery, but it certainly doesn't seem to have helped. I just hoped it would help me eat less. I know it can't make decisions for me, but I would love for it to control my portions which I thought was the point. Just discouraged.
  13. That's when I get mine I am going to Gym tomorrow so Hopefully that will help.
  14. I have no will power it was so easy at first because I had some restruction. I guess it was fro swelling.
  15. I almost 5 weeks post op and no restriction. I know I'm not losing. I am ok with it. But this is banster hell right? I just need a fill right?
  16. Yep normal. I am more than three weeks post op and it still hurts a little.
  17. I am in the camp of up your calories. A lot of people will cycle their calories and have two days a week where their calories are much higher and it tricks your body. Especially if you are exercising, it's a good idea. Try it, I am positive you won't gain exercising that much. Also, you can expect to not lose while working out for a while then all the sudden you will wake up and be 5 pounds lighter. Your body does not want to get rid of the fat.
  18. Whole chicken breasts...well not eating the whole thing. Also stew meat, ground beef, any veggies. I can eat anything I just making good decisions.
  19. Every insurance is different which I am sure you know. So you may not get the answer you want here...However, have you called to see what they cover? If they cover it with or without conditions and you meet the conditions, I don't think they can deny you. I wasn't denied at all. It was smooth and easy. I had a 6 month wait with supervised weight loss, but everything went in and I was approved within 2 weeks. I have blue cross.
  20. Are you losing inches? If you are working out abs tracking calories you will lose. I tell myself everyday that I am healthy with no reason not to lose weight so when I'm not it will happen because I can't defy science for long
  21. It's about 3.5 hours and I am hungry. I am eating solids. Nothing real hard though.
  22. I am trying to decide to get a fill or not. I should have around 2cc in a 10 band rigtht now. I do have restriction. I can't eat more than 3/4 of a cup total. I feel like I could have a little more restriction because I do get hungry sooner than I should. That's a reason to get a full right? I feel like my pouch gets full quick, but empties quick too.
  23. I feel like you channeled my spirit lol..... awesome!!!
  24. Oh my gosh! That's so horrible!!!
  25. Good to know I'm not alone. My other small incisions are basically nothing. It's just the large one where the port is. I feel it kind of like a burning when I move wrong or bend over.
