  1. Greek yogurt has almost as much protein as the protein drinks and yogurt is easier to digest than milk. I feel your pain as I have not been able to tolerate the vitamins. I have been desperately trying to find a multivitamin that I can both take and tolerate. I have always been super sensitive to vitamins but it has only gotten worse.

    Hiatal Hernia

I don't know when you had your surgery, but i had mine on the 13th of Sept and had the same thing. My Uvula was so swolen from the tube put down my throat during surgery that it hung down and layed on my tongue for the first week. It has since subsided so I hope yours will too. I also had a hiatal hernia repair but don't think that had anything to do with it.

    Post Op Diet

I am two weeks out and am allowed to have almost anything pureed. I think I have been fairly lucky to not have many problems adjusting to new foods. I find it hardest though to get both the 700-1000 calories plus my liquids in, it seems like every day something is sacraficed. I am down 12lbs since pre-surgery wieght and 17lbs since post surgery weight. I weighed more leaving the hospital than going in lol. Next week I am allowed some eggs and refried beans.
  4. Tomato soup has been my first thick liquid and it is great although someone said about pureed bean and bacon and that sounds good too
  5. Keep your chin up.....maybe we are just slow losers. They always say slow and steady wins the race.
  6. thanks guys....I am sure it will come off just a little frustrating at first I guess
  7. I was sleeved on the 13th. I followed the strict pre op diet liquid fast and then the clear liquid diet. I only lost 5 lbs from those 8 days and was really dissapointed. Everyone else seemed to lose at least 10. Leaving the hospital I weighed more than when I went in and am feeling frustrated. I am really afraid this might not work as well as I thought it would now.
  8. I was sleeved on the 13th. I had chest pain post op so bad I thought I was having a heart attack. Turned out that it was some gas bubbles and the hernia repair. I came home yesterday and am doing well except for a decent amount of pain in my largest incision.

    Pre-Op Diet Worry

My Surgery is also on 9/13 lord willing the floods recede and the roads reopen so I can get to the hospital. My surgeon has me on an eight day liquid fast. 6 no sugar Carnation Instant breakfasts a day, with any no sugar no calorie drinks allowed. The day before surgery is a clear liquid diet. I imagine I am dropping weight like mad although I am pretty consistently hungry and have had a lot of headaches. If you don't have any restrictions I would look into higher fiber foods with low calories.

    Emotion Overload!!!!

I feel for you....I have struggled with this from day one. I am 3 days from surgery and still struggling. The liquid fast is really doing a number on my emotions, but I know in the long run I will be happier (and hopefully less anxious). I am just praying my will power stays with me.
