  2. LOL that is funny! The Sam's club buffet - LOL! It's the little things...
  3. Great job! You're definitely rocking your sleeve! You look great.
  4. Look at you! You're doing great! :-)
  5. My packet from my surgeon says to be careful with alcohol not only because it's a slider but also because you may get intoxicated quicker than you're used to. I still say go and have fun! (Just be mindful :-) )
  6. Wow what an amazing experience! Thank you food sharing with us. You look so pretty, blue is a good color on you.
  7. At first, I was a little annoyed at the minimum 6 month process but I've learned a ton about myself and I really do think it sets you up for success. Keep chugging along....
  8. Who started that misconception??? I've heard it said by SO many people (and believed it myself at one time too). I had a WW leader dispel that myth, some of the people were pissed! LOL!
  9. Ain't that the truth! Congrats!
  10. massindex, WOW!! and you're not even 18 months out yet. Very inspirational. Thank you!
  11. I worry about this because I already suffer with moderate acne. From what I've read, it's normal due to the hormones that were stored in your fat cells being released into your body as you lose weight. I wonder how long it takes for your body to regulate the hormones though...
  12. that's a really good point! Even if we "only" lose 60% of our excess weight, that's not a drop in the bucket!
  13. That's great to hear, that several have lost 150-200 pounds. Thanks for that. I hear you, my goal weight is 180-190 just because I just want to be in one-derland SO BAD! LOL I was annoyed at first because I thought he was going to really try and push RNY on me, but he did just quick blurb comparing the two then the rest of the visit we talked about the sleeve. And like I said, as he was leaving he grabbed my hand and looked me in the eye and said "with dedication and motivation, you'll blow that average out of the water!". So it was left on a very positive note.
  14. Hey everyone! So I had my surgical consult yesterday. The surgeon was great and gave me some things to think about. He asked me a question regarding weight loss with the sleeve that I'm wondering if any of you have worked through. He said that with the sleeve, patients will lose 60% of their excess body weight. If I fall within this average, I'd lose about 125 pounds which will still categorize me as obese. He said "if that happens, will you be ok with that?". I was surprised by the question so I just said, I guess so. Now that I've had some time to think it through, my answer is HELL no. LOL I'm not going through all of this to still be unhealthy! I plan to exercise to maximize my results, but being honest he's put this little seed of doubt in my head that I need to work through. My hubby, love him, just said "when have you ever been average?". The doc even said that with motivation and dedication, the average can be blown out of the water. So I'm just wondering, for those of us that need to lose more than the average, how are you attacking it? How are you keeping yourself motivated? Do you ever wonder about the what if's?
  15. That said, I've already told more people than I originally planned to, so we'll see how it works out in the end.
  16. Congrats!
  17. I am debating this now. Right now, my husband, children, mom, and a handful of close friends know. I have a blog that I shared with my friends to tell them. I plan to open up a bit more with a larger circle of friends and family once I actually have a surgery date. I struggle with telling coworkers. My boss and one coworker knows but I'm not sure about telling others. One in particular has a big mouth and makes snide comments all the time about people. I already know she'll say something dumb. I agree that it's a very personal decision. I already feel like an exhibit when I eat with people watching me and I feel like that will get worse if I tell them about the surgery. That one coworker gave me grief the other day for turning down a cupcake as big as my head.
  18. Smile, graciously accept the compliments and keep it moving. if you weren't married I'd say flirt back! You're probably oozing confidence (even if you don't know it) which makes the guys crazy. Soak up that you'll never be invisible again.
  19. Nice job!! You must feel so awesome. Now, the question is...did you do the happy dance in the mirror? this is very important.
