how is everyone doingWell, I have been M.I.A. for a few weeks now. I was in a car accident just over a month ago and have been recovering from that. Nothing life threatening thank God, but the whiplash and the medications to help deal with that have kept me from working out, and sooo tired! Tired is bad for me, because it makes me crave sweets and comfort food. I skipped a few weigh-ins, but I did go last Saturday and I was happy to see only a 0.3 increase on the scale.< /p>
I have been given the go ahead to start working out again as long as I listen to my body and don't push too hard. I have been faithfully tracking this week as well, so hopefully the scale will show me something good this upcoming Saturday.
Hope everyone is having a good week!

thanks for the tipThis is a great website to check points value of tons of restaurants: exercise4weightloss.com. I always try to pre plan my restaurant meals. Sometimes I print it out and take it with me to the restaurant.

thanksIf it has caffeine in it, it will have a diuretic effect and does not count toward your liquid goals. Caffeine-free counts, but the majority of your liquids should be Water if at all possible.
-
does snapple ice tea count as Water because i too have been getting stuck because drinking more ice tea and less watergreat topic and info...i can see this applies to me...one of my may goals is to get in more water...heck any kind of liquid really:)

do they come out of the freezer hard so you have to scrape them off to eati put a couple of sf pudding cups in the freezer every few days. but they should only take a couple of hours to freeze as they are small. It doesnt taste exactly like ice cream, but close enough ! Knowing that i have them in the freezer stops me from stopping at the local frozen yogurt place . (most of the time !)

you put the Jello pudding in the freezer and it comes out like ice creamHi, im not on WW or connected to them, just on the lap band forum , but some body was saying they were looking for a healthy substitute for ice cream. Try freezing a couple of sugar free pudding cups . Cold, creamy , sweet and lo cal too ! Yummy !!
how long do you put it in for?

thanks that is great advice to followhiccups is another way to tell that your pouch is full.
i have not gotten to the zone yet because i can eat more than that
-
how do you know when your pouch is fullSorry it took me a while to see your? When i eat super slow and chew well i can eat more sometimes. It depends on the day i even think the weather effects my band sensitivity. I know i am full when my pouch is full not my tummy. Sometimes i am still tummy hungry but pouch full so i have to stop or ill get stuck or have to pb a bit

OK you guys need some filling up! I have a 10 cc band and have 8.5 in it now and am feeling good and tight! FINALLY! It took me too long to get to this point, my doc also fills slow but I finally told him what to do and he did it. I just had to be specific. I was playing his game for a long while thinking he knew best, well he did not I did and I was right! It's my body and I know it!
Now I can not eat a whole slice of pizza, it's perfect! I can still have pizza but like a 1/2 a slice and I am happy I can actually eat anything, bread, Pasta, rice I just cant eat a lot of it.
Thank GOD for my band I'd be 300 pounds again without it!
My next ww weigh in is this Saturday, I had a 1 pound gain last week so I am trying extra hard food wise this week. I am not back at the gym yet because I still dont feel good, my cold/flu is lasting way too long now.
how do you feel when you have 1/2 slice of pizza . do you feel like something is stuck . how do you know when that is all you can eat

i know exactly what you mean. i have some restriction but i still feel i can eat. basically i watch everything i put in my mouthHe has given me 3 adjustments since surgery, he gave me 3 cc fill about 8 wks post op, no difference but I was still averaging about a pound a week weight loss, went back 6 wks later and he didnt really want to fill me again because i was still eating but at that time I was able to eat still alot of food, he hesitated but did give me another 1 cc adjustment, told me to come back in 8 weeks, went through the holidays and went back after new years and had only lost 2 lbs, he was pissed, asked me what i ate for breakfast, i say i ate 2 eggs and a piece of toast, he says no way in hell should you be eating 2 eggs and a piece of toast, and im like well if Im hungry im going to eat, because thats what he told me to do. and if i could have refrained from eating 2 egss i wouldnt have had weight loss sugery to begin with, so he gives me another adjustment of about 1.5 cc so now total of 5.5 cc in a 10 cc band. that was jan. 10th, i have lost about 5 lbs since then, i go back to him next week, dont know what to do, i feel kinda lost with this whole thing. I know that i have some restriction because i get full faster but still i believe I am able to eat way more than I should. hoping weight watchers will help me with this. I used to eat 2biscuits with gravy, eggs and hasbrowns, chips , cheese, whole medium pizza and bread sticks, fried foods and ice cream every day. now im averaging about 1 egg a day, no breads, no fried foods, no sweets, no ice cream. today i had kashi go lean cereal with fat free milk, then I had 2 fresco tacos and for dinner i will probably have chicken and veggies but i still seem to not lose that much weight. dunno if its what im eating or just my anatomy. thanks for your help

you girls are an inspiration to all . keep up the great workSkinny3 & Soexcited - Wow great job ladies. Ian going back to my Tuesday evening meeting. I don't think I will say anything about me having a band.
I looked online at Sam's Club and they carry the Premier shakes. I will head over there today or tomorrow to get some.
I love how you are posting your daily menus. That really helps with meal ideas.
I'm so glad this thread is up and running again. Let's keep it going ladies.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

do you exercise alotLisa: First - the 75 pounds has been since 7/7/11 not Sept. But I have done good. I just left the Docotor and it is just under 80 pounds now - woo hoo !!! I try to eat low carb but I do have a very small red potato or a Tblsp of mashed potatoes. I will eat a half a slice of toast about once a week. I find that I need some of this in my diet and it helps balance me out. I eat 3-4 oza of Protein for breakfast, lunch and dinner and generally a good size salad...
Here is my day (so far) today: Breakfast - Hot Tea
2 slices of Turkey Bacon
1 scrambled egg (wet)
Lunch: 3.5 ozs ground sirlon (left over from last night dinner)
tsp of homemade gravy (made w/bullion)
baggie with baby carrotts, celery sticks and two cherry tomatoes
I will dip this in a tsp of Catalina Salad Dressing
sugar free Jello (orange)
Dinner: I am planning -
4 ozs chicken breast
1/4 cup green Beans
1/4 bakes potato with spray butter
2 cups tossed lettuce salad with cucumbers, tomatoes and celery with
Olive oil and red wine vinegar dressing
I know that is not enough points and I know it has more carbs than my doctor wants but I am loosing a good pace and I feel good. I will also walk about 3 miles today.
i try but tax season is coming and all i will do is work

good luck and feel betterHi Guys I just started back to weight watchers and weighed in on saturday. I was so excited because I lost 8 pounds. This week I've already lost two and I still have till saturday to lose more. I love the weight watcher program but had stopped going because I had hernia surgery in nov. then infection surgery to clean it in january and have a wound vacuum and home health scomes out ever other day to change bandges. I'm not suppost to be out and around people. But talked the nurse into letting me at least go to weigh ins once a week. I have used weight watchers on and off ever since i got the band and even before. The band is my tool and weight watchers is my other tool.LOL! I use the online site to log in what I eat and sometimes my iphone to scan the items and it goes to the site. BEORE SURGERY i WAS GOING TO THE GYM an hour each day using treadmill 30 minutes at night and going to zumba 4 days a week. This staying at home with machine hooked to me was really getting to me plus I had to have some taken out of band before i had surgery so it was hard with just 2 cc in my band. My spirits are up agian and I'm ready to conker the world since my last weeks weigh in. at weight watchers. Still have a month of being hooked to this vacumm machine but at least i got to go to a meeting. The weigh in weekly is the key for me having to step up infront of someone not family or friend. I refuse to gain after working so hard to get off the weight.
I don't like the new weight watcher program as much as the old slider card program. I don't like fruits and vegies being free and u get so many more points. they say because they figure your fruits and veggies in the daily points. I do like how as of january 2012 u can take your points down to 26 online. So thats what mine is sat at. and I never use activity points or weekly allowance points. But I love the program. So what are some Snacks u guys like to eat at night low in points and healthy? Any tips you have fill free to give cause i'll take all the adive I can get. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond have a good day.
haven't been able to stay at the meetings but i did get weighed in
you are definitely correct both are a tool
how have you done with the band
how much lost and for how long
you go to the gym alot
last nite myfitnesspal had a free zumba class on the computer very interesting

what is an electronic tracker it would be great if you don't have to writeAnyone bought one of those WW electronic trackers for points? Does it allow journaling?

great job you are doing so well. i know what you mean about ww it is a great diet but unfortunately i couldn't stay at my maintence weight. hopefully with the band i will be able to. i still think like a weight watcher it is just i don't weigh anymore and i used to religiouslylcoughlin - WW and the band do work well together with a few exceptions...WW does not like the band so you may or maynot want to tell your leader. I did and mine is very supportive and has modified the plan to assist me. My doctor hates carbs and fruit - WW allows both - I do eat them but in small amounts - doctor hates that and does not want to hear about WW when I visit him - so I don't even mention it. I cannot eat my full amount of points per day. I am allowed 26 and I generally have about 15-18. I do get the Water in and I love the fact of the weekly meetings - I need that support. My band was done 7/7/11 and I am down over 75 pounds. I have about 40 or 50 more to go. Lately my weight loss has slowed but the box of Cookies I ate at Christmas and all the junk I have been enjoying is the reason for this. The band and WW is not to blame for this one - just me. I feel sooo much better than I did before the band. WW helped me loose a ton of weight years ago and I knew that it could help again. I feel that it has. If I could take diet pills again, I would do that too....I don't the the band is the end-all tool for me to loos weight. I need the "village" to do that. Good luck and hope things work out for you. Stay in touch !

i agree with youOK guys, I have read everyone's threads - I joined WW (for the 6th time) 2 months after my band. I told my leader that I had the band but still believed in the WW program (always lost weight but always regained - thusly the band). She said WW did not like band but she would work with me and adjust the program for me...She has done just that and I am now down 73 pounds - my surgery was 7-7-11 - so to say the least, I am happy. The people that I sti with at the meetings all know I have the band and they help me adjust receipes to fit ME. My Doctor is not happy tha I go to WW as he said they count calories and they allow sweets, carbs etc and he does not. Well, welcome to my "real world" - it contains calories, carbs and sweets, just less of them and not all the time.
I love this site and I love my WW meetings - it keeps me honest to myself and the scale. I write down everything that I eat (even the bad stuff). WW on line helps me track my weight, Protein and waters.. I am so glad you guys started talking about WW and the band as I thought I was the only one out there trying to do two things at the same time. Hey, if it works for you - then go for it. I am happy and loosing and that is all that matters!.
Happy weight loss to everyone and keep this thread going !
