  1. That was a fabulous story. I too started exactly at 289. I am now 171. But lost alot recently due to being sick from gallstones. My one year anniversary is approaching 10/10. And I don't loose as much as the beginning but am still loosing approximately 1-2 pounds a week. I don't exercise much but I do watch what I eat and eat what I want to in moderation. I am very happy with my decision. I live this post. Thank u
  2. I had several gallbladder attacks. Pain so bad under ur ribs and shoot to ur back, chest and make u feel like u are having a heart attack. The hida scan will only show if ur gallbladder stopped functioning not stones ..the only thing that shows gallstones is the ultrasound. Make them do it. My symptoms were constipation then it would be bad diarrhea..at first. Then when it got really bad I started with the nausea, vomiting and no appetite. I was like that for several weeks because I was scared of more doctor bills and being told it was constipation but I insisted on the ultrasound this time and they said it was full of stones and now infected. Had to come out. 39% of people that loose weight rapidly get stones. Especially weight loss surgery patients but I don't know why it happens and I don't think it has anything to do with what u eat because I eat extremely healthy. I was miserable for months and so disgusted my doctor took so long to diagnose me.
  3. On September 11th I had my gallbladder removed. They were able to do it laproscopic, my question is 3 days later I have been short of breath and wheezing? No other symptoms. I called yesterday and they thought it was the Percoset, so I stopped it and I am still wheezing. I just called again and left a message for my doctor. I did not have this after my sleeve, anyone know what this could be? Is it normal? Thank you for any advice:)

    Gallbladder :-(

I had my gallbladder checked before my surgery and it was fine. I just had mine out 9/11. Less then a year from my sleeve.
  5. Yes Tuesday ...took them this long to figure it out and 3 attacks later ..I started vomiting last few weeks and couldn't keep anything down.
  6. Ok so this may also be TMI and I am sorry for being graphic but I am at my wit's end here. I am 6 months post op, and Thursday night I woke up to by far the worse pain I have ever felt, it was under my breasts, rib area and spreading to my chest and back, on top of it I even blacked out. Taken to closest emergency room which by the way was the worst experience ever besides the hot male nurse who saw me at my worst... let me just say this real quick ...huge peach pajamas..no bra and black socks......no make up..zit cream on my face ...oh yeah embarrassing but what is more embarrassing for the hospital..they never heard of the SLEEVE...yes I said it...no clue. They looked at me like I was nuts! I told them "call my surgeon" at least 100 times..did they call NO!!! They gave me morphine, Fluid, did a cat scan, said I abdominal pain and sent me home...yes sent me home..could have a tear...how would they know right.. they wouldnt even call my surgeon! Can you believe it? My bill will be probably thousands...for what??? Needless to say I called my surgeon in the morning and went right in to be advised I had a bowel blockage, partial but 14 about 12 pounds worth and what do you know right up under my ribs... top of bowel...could they have told me that at the hospital ..NO. Sorry for ranting, I am just so bothered by it! Ok so here is where I need help, my surgeon said no NG tubes so they cannot flush the block and he wants me to clear it on my own by taking citrate magnesium and miralax combo. I did it but my bowel never ran clear like he said. I have since tried a second time and nothing. I have gone jogging, ran up and down the steps...ate applesauce, drank apple juice, ate prunes, drank prune juice, drank a ton of Water, warm water, metamucil (alot), ate hot food, ate everything whole grain I could find and I cannnot clear this block. It will not work...i clears my bottom bowel but never runs clear like he said. I need to clear it, or it could turn to a total obstruction and I will be hospitalized. I want to avoid that at all costs. Has anyone had a similar issue and please tell me any home remedies you have, I am desperate and will try anything. I bought an enema but am thinking will also just clear lower bowel. I can't go through that pain again ever. This is affecting my job. Last day off today! HELP!! PS.. I have suffered with constipation the entire time and I drink 3 glasses a day of a Fiber drink and take stool softners daily. Thanks for any ideas On a brighter note I have lost 96 lbs since being sleeved, Ijust want to be healthy
  7. Well I ended up having gallstones so I was misdiagnosed ..although I did have constipation and nothing worked except citrate magnesium and that even stopped working. Sorry..I tries everything they said, nothing ever seemed to work. Good Luck

    Gallbladder :-(

I have been searching on here to see if anyone else had similar issues as me. I had 2 really bad attacks. Both times under my ribs shooting up my chest so bad I could barely breath. Yet the hospital or my surgeon never thought to check my gallbladder. I had to call and request an ultrasound. They told me Constipation both times..really?? I'm so irritated with the doctors around here and them blowing me off all the time. I'm sick of being sick! Nausea and horrible gas pain everyday..and I'm so exhausted too. Hope ur surgery goes well if u have it. Keep us posted!

    Rabbit Pellets

I recommend you handle it asap or you will end up like I did...read my post I just put on about being rushed to emergency Thursday. I have a block and it is not pretty. Do whatever you can? Eat tons and tons of fiber filled products. It is so much more serious than anyone acts like. My doctor said it like this, normal people eat enough to push it out, we don't, so we have to substitute. Drink fiber supplement everyday and push your water. This is what he told me. Maybe if desperate like me, he said miralax is gentle and also a few fellow sleevers just told me to try warm water with non iodized salt..tea or a hot bath. Let me know if you need any other help, I di not take it serious enough and it became a huge problem. Best of luck!
  15. No my doctor saw me, I went in and he read the cat scan. Here is the problem, the hospital I had my surgery at is the only one trained in the area but it is 45 minutes away, I couldnt make it there. He was so mad they didn't call him. Trust me
  16. I havent tried the hot bath, sounds like a good idea and relaxing too. I am definitely gonna try it. Thank you
  17. Great thank you, I havent eaten yet today but I have drank metamucil and coffee, do you think it will still work?

    Plateau

Completely agree with the others on the inches. I stalled and my clothes were still getting bigger on me, measured and I for sure was dropping inches. And let me tell u I eat so healthy its unreal. So it happens, dont stress it and just keep on doig what you are doing
  19. Hi...I'm a Grazer too. I am 5 months out and I have still lost 94 pounds. I try to sip water as much as possible between meals. That helps..as and long as u are making healthy choices then u should be OK. Now if u start eating fried foods and junk then that is bad. Good luck

    Constipation

Perfect timing for me as well...I go sometimes weeks without going and then I get these horrible pains like labor pains until I finally go and then I go pretty much all day. One day at work so bad that I was turning white and sweating and crying from the pain. They wanted to call an ambulance...I just wanted to go home and sit on the toilet. Ive tried stool.softners..they don't work...all that works is a cleanse for me...like citrate magnesium...my doctor said fiber supplements which I've tried also with no success. I'm 3 months out and this has become a huge problem for me to the point I'm afraid to be at work..since I have a controlling job...that limits bathroom breaks...I know its not normal. I'm hoping that the 4 month thing mentioned is true and cannot wait until that day!
  21. Hello I had my surgery on 10/10/2011, I lost 14 pounds pre -op and 49 pounds after surgery...gone forever! At first I hated this surgery because I was throwing up everything but I am good now and I love it. Worth it all!
