    Could It Be This Easy?

My friend actually emailed me this groupon...I just replied, I am getting the real deal on Monday.
  2. Husband and I are both getting surgery in December. On our consult was in October. I mentioned this Lapband & Plication (iBand) procedure to my surgeon. He told me that there was a possibilty that by December he would begin performing banding with plication. He wanted to get more information since it is still investigational. We are meeting with him on Wednesday 11/16 and will discuss where he is with that. He said he wanted to make sure that there is a revisional surgery available to the iBand before beginning to offer it in his office. My husband definitely wants it. Since he is a smoker our surgeon talked him out of the sleeve but this would be a good choice for him according to my surgeon. I immediately came home and combed through the internet and here to see so many already have done this surgery. My only hesitation is the sewing of the stomach which I think? (not sure need to ask him) was not reversible. After watching this video on youtube and reading all the happy successful stories I think I want it now. Less slippage, hirer success rate and faster/consistant weight loss short and long-term. After seeing the video seems to even be a better alternative than the sleeve. Why wouldn't I want it? I would like to hear opinions, pros and cons. BTW how long do surgeries stay as investigational? Does anyone know the process? How many years does it take to be not investigational? Did you doctor say is was reversible and what were the possible problems with this procedure. Could I be back to work in 5 days? (office job) The more information the better for me so I am prepared on Wednesday. It makes me look very smart too lol. THANKS!
  3. Doesn't look like my doctor will be ready for me on Monday but I am still happy to get the band!
  4. If you click on his name its listed in his patient info. Ted I want him in our group! What an inspiration!

  6. Well in last nights support meeting I went to, out of the 4 people I talked to, the sleeved patient was not at the point that she felt happy with the sleeve and the 3 bandsters said they LOVE it! They all but 1 had their procdure done 2 months ago.

Me too!!! You are my lapband twin
  9. I hope so because I am scared sh*tless lol.
  10. That's an interesting diet. Never heard that one before. Sounds like your friend has a drinking problem now instead of a food problem. I really didnt tell many and i am beginning to realize that only few people understand food addiction and being banded. Lucky for me my husband was just banded and i will be banded in 5 days. I have a feeling though I am going to gain lots if new banded friends and that will be alot more supportive then any of my real friends. Try to go to some support groups and if course here, there are tons of inspirational friends out there
  11. I am so happy you told her. I had a feeling that would be her reaction. A lot of us heavy people who can't lose weight and are hopeless sometimes act like the weight doesn't bother us but its just a front we put up. You can now lead the way and you can possibly give her hope and new Outlook on her health and hopefully you both will support each other along the way.
  12. Watching my husband quietly sleeping on his stomach 2 day post op

    The Cold Hard Facts

You are the patient/client/customer. Yes you need help but ultimately you are the one making the decision to get the surgery, go to all these appointments and following through with it etc., personally I don't care if my surgeon is my best friend or not I just want him/het to be good at what they do. But I also like motivating people in my corner. My husband in the other hand likes someone who tells it like it is. I don't mind honesty but I mind meanness. So you have to carefully decide whether to use him or not. Are you someone who gets motivated when you are challeneged the way he is challenging you? Then show Dr. Mean Butt that you can dot this. If you need someone more motivating and supportive then you need to find another surgeon. Do it now because you are early in the process that it won't delay your journey. Regardless I know we can do with the band, that's why I am on this journey. Believe and you will achieve.

    December Bandsters!

I completely understand. My husband and I both love to eat and do it together. He was banded today and I will be banded next Monday. We wear wedding bands and now we will both have matching bands around our stomachs....that's what I call love lol. I couldn't do it without him and I am so happy to go on this journey with him. He is my number 1 supporter. Good luck to you guys too.
  16. waiting for my husband to get out of surgery. he will be banded very shortly and 7 days to go for me :)

  17. Husband is getting banded tomorrow and I am 8 days away! Shakin' in my booties :)

  18. Xavier its not fraud. My insurance told me they don't care if I pay the remainder 20% or the deductible that between the patient and the doctor. He charges the same but he basically takes the 80% that the insurance does pay. Basicaly he is just giving us a discount.
  19. He is not the only one here that does that. I called another surgeon and same thing.
