  1. I've tried several different pritein shakes and have learned that if I need a B.M. I have a drink. I'm looking forward to to trying the bars. That happens this weekend! Yeah! I've also found that yogurt gives my throat a sticky feeling. None of the other foods I eat do that and I know it's high in protein. Why would yogurt do that?
  2. 6 weeks and 30lbs down. Things are good. Acid reflex is a little better. I found out that tea helps reduce the foam from the stomach acid. It's really helping me though hot is better than cold. Atleast I'm getting fluids now.

  3. I was sleeved on September 27th. Dr. Harrison was my surgeon. He was kind, listened to my concerns and is tracking my post op issues. I'm about 25lbs down. I have about 120lbs to loose total. I'm anemic, so I'm struggling with the affects surgery had on that. I was able to start taking my iron pills last week though I'm still waiting to feel better. I'm also having acid reflux issues, which I've never had before. I've had several people tell me different things about both issues. The advise that's helped the most has been, "give it time cause in a few months things start to feel normal and the excitement of the weight loss kicks in." My doc said he makes the sleeve very small because it will stretch. I'm guessing, aside from swelling, that's the reason for food feeling like it's sitting in my throat. This is also the first time I've had surgery and the doc used glue for the incisions, no sewing. I'm very impressed with how they've healed. Very thin and clean. My husband is a wonderful support and my kids think it will be funny having a skinny mom, (me too.)
  4. So, I'm 4 weeks out and considering the physical invasion of surgery I'm not too bad off. I do have an issue though. At about the 2 week mark I started having acid reflex. I've never had it before and truly feel for everyone who has it. I'm taking prilosec TWICE a day (per the doc) and I am still having trouble. Food or no food and water is bad so I'm really having to work to get that down. What gives and does it go away? Please say yes.... cause this is miserable. Any suggestions?
  5. 1 month out and still waiting for something normal.
  6. I heard several people say they thought the same thing about a week or two out. I did too. Actually I'm only a month out and every now and them I still think it. Though everyone I've talked to said just wait a few months and you'll never look back. I hope this helped. Hang in there.
