  1. @@Yasman I know that your post was awhile ago, but I was wondering if the JFK group allows anyone in, or if it's a closed group. I'm from the PBG area & looking for something. Thanks!

    Hi @sarahicorn,

I'm pretty sure its an open group, since there is a member who joins us for support (he lost 90 lbs. on his own) even though he has not had weight loss surgery. Come join!

  2. Let me try y this again. Here is start and current. 150 lbs down in this pic and still going!

this is my new and improved before and after! i had my surgery september 18 so about 4.5 months ago. as of now i've lost 73 pounds!! my heighest weight was 322 and im now 249. im starting to definitely see the changes in myself. its taken me a while to see the results but my sizes dont lie! i can almost fit into a 14 which is honestly mind blowing. if you havent had the surgery yet dont hesitate. it sucks sometimes yeah when you get sick from food and what not but the results are definitely real. i never thought i'd be this size again. im so proud of myself. though i have been in a stall for about a month so i need to figure out how to get the scale moving again. but im very pleased with how i'm looking these days! everyone else here looks fantastic as well <3 <3

Hey everybody! New to the forum and excited to share my success :)attachicon.gifbeforefront.jpgattachicon.gifbeforeright.jpgattachicon.gifSE_Wine_Collective.JPG

I know the work isn't over, even though I'm at goal, and I'm looking forward to sharing support. Look for me in the veteran's forum!

Here's mine :) will be 2 years out on June 10th down 160 lbs

First time to share pictures only. Only 7weeks out 50 pounds less

Hey everyone I'm so impressed with all of your results. You're doing great!

  3. I had a towel moment yesterday at the pool. My towels (large) have been hanging off me gaping open for years. Yesterday, I noticed that the wrap around my breasts left extra, folded over and the folded over part dropped down and stayed both folded and covered the whole way down. It has been a long time since I measured inches lost but I guess its time... the weight loss has stabilized for a while now (not happy about that plateau) but clearly the body has been reshaping itself during this time. Yay!

  4. I had Chike coffee shake today. 2 scoops mixed with Water over ice. It was excellent. First time since my surgery (12/12/14) that I was able to drink a whole Protein drink. It wasn't super sweet like the rest of the Protein drinks. Only problem is it only has 20 grams of protein per shake.< /p>

Can anyone recommend an unflavored powder I can put in yogurt or pudding?

Yes. Musclegen makes an unflavored powder called GENEPRO which one tablespoon equals 30g of protein. You can mix it with yogurt, pudding, uncarbonated drinks (I tried it in diet coke one day and it was like a neverending fountain of foam. NOT a good idea...). It's great in coffee and sweet tea, I do it all the time.

You can search for GENEPRO on Amazon.com and if you're a prime member you don't have to pay for the shipping.

  5. I've posted on this thread before, but here is my FINAL before and after. Been maintaining at this weight for 3 months so I assume I'm done. And I couldn't be happier!

Before... December 4, 2013 the day I started my preop diet

    After...December 4, 2014 100 pounds down

Hey Kindle thank you for posting those. Great job! You look terrific. I'm digging the muscles... did you do a lot of weightlifting or strength training... ive mostly been focusing on cardio because that's what i enjoy but some definition would be nice.

  6. It gets easier. I find that anything in a sauce goes down easily. And I don't really worry about calories from the sauces. At 700-900 calories a day, we have room to spare so I don't think they'll hurt me too much.

if you look the various Chinese food dishes up for their caloric values you may find that even a small portion of something benign like chicken and Broccoli will be at or above that 700-900 mark for just the one meal.

  7. Well, what I started with , while significantly less than I ever would have put on my plate before sleeve surgery, was a much fuller plate than yours. That said, what I ended with arguably looked exactly the same as what I started with.

I was able to eat 1 (of 2) piece of ham, one bite of mashed potatoes, none of the turkey, 1-2 bites of green bean casserole, and about 2 ounces of sweet potato. At the end, I honestly could hardly tell myself what I had eaten vs what I hadn't. And the strange/fun fact thing was the whole time everyone else was eating, I was sitting there with a full plate not ogling what I could not eat. It was just "stuff" sitting there, of virtually no interest to me.

Chalk up a win for sleeve surgery!

  8. I was 448 the day of surgery. 2 years post op and my lowest has been 310. I want under 300 so bad. Currently I'm gaining. I'm 334 and feeling afraid.

But my first year was awesome! I lost 100 lbs quickly.

have you discussed what's happening with your doctor? I wonder if you may be a candidate for an additional surgery. I'm sorry that you are feeling afraid, but I can relate. I'm still fairly new to this, about 4 months post op and I've lost 47-49 lbs depending on which day I'm measuring with the scale. I seem to be stuck in this zone now for a couple months (not as frustrating as 2 years i bet) and I am constantly asking myself if maybe my verticla sleeve has stretched out or something else is going wrong.

I can't remember if I did my introduction to this thread yet so here goes.

    Highest known weight 367

    starting weight (at sleeve) 357

    current weight 308.9-310

    goal weight 160

I've been enjoying reading this thread and just want to shout out to everyone, more power to you! If they say a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step, I say dudes and dudettes, you are so courageous and I admire you for taking the first step!

  9. I'm at 4 months out and just in the past two weeks have noticed that what was noticeable (but normal for me because of medication i'm on) hairloss has ramped upinto actual hanks of hair coming out at time. I try to minimize my handling of the hair as much as possible, hopefully limiting how much will be coming out. I am now going to go get some Biotin i hadn't heard of that until I read this post. I Have had a whole WHOLE lot of hair my entire life so i'm hoping that I have the bandwidth for this kind of hairloss for the time being.

  10. today's weigh-in: 310.0

i have been really having trouble with hitting a new low weight and then bouncing up for a week-10 days before returning to a lower end of the spectrum number. makes me feel sort of like if a weigh-in is on the low end that i'm cheating somehow.... and there's the "water" weight issue of carrying around everything you ate for several days before eliminating... could just wish to eliminate immediately prior to weigh-in but of course that doesn't happen!

Happy holidays to all and good work on the challenge. I've seen so many people reaching onederland or twonederland on this and the hallowe'en challenge that its now my new personal goal.
