JustDoIt-I am up to 11.95 in my 14cc band and finally feel like I am at the green zone. Feeling full for at least 4 hours, not thinking about food as much, etc. I am on the smaller side as well for the 14cc band so what your doc said makes sense. Yo-yoying up and down with 2-3 pounds as well Horsegirl. Kind of annoying but I know it will eventually stay down. Soo close to that 50# mark. I need to get there cause mama needs a pedi before Memorial Day weekend

I'm here I'm here!!!! Waving frantically Here at the office slowwwly eating my lunch. I bought a rotisserie chicken at Kroger's the other day and made some yummy chicken salad with it. Just mixed some chopped up bread and butter pickles, a little mayo and a dash of dijon mustard together and it is delish. I also have a little tropical fruit cup to eat for dessert. I brought a little more today than I did yesterday because I was still kind of hungry after lunch yesterday. A full cupful today. I am teetering on the edge of the green zone just not 100% sure yet. Hence my attempt at bringing more food to see if I can escape my 3pm hunger issues. Usually always have to have something(usually Greek yogurt or a protein bar) around that time of day. Not to complain but is anyone else having clothing issues? LOL...I am rapidly running out of work clothes that actually fit me. Luckily I had held onto some capris that had not fit me for years but they aren't going to last forever! I know.....silly to complain but hate to spend money on clothes I won't be in for long. What are you doing about clothes not fitting you?

    Onderland!!!!

Soooo happy for you Can't wait to get there myself! And yeah, our January group rocks!!!
  4. Oh no!!! I am so very sorry to hear this. I was just wondering how she was doing the other day since I had not seen her post anything on here in a few days. Do they know the cause of her death yet?
  5. I did talk with them but ended up going with Dr. Brad Watkins at the UC Health Weight Loss Center in West Chester. Closer to my office and home and they seemed more aggressive with fills. Good Luck to you and feel free to ask me any questions! Been banded since Jan and I am LOVING it
  6. I hit the TEENS! Scale read 219.2 this am! Have not seen the teens in at least a decade!!

  7. Oh yeah! Sometimes our subconscious definitely takes over and takes us on some journeys we only wish we could go on I was banded Jan 27 but I still occasionally will dream of food. Last one I was with Paula Deen in her kitchen and she was teaching me how to fry donuts!!!! LOL....OMG, they looked so good in that oil!! And we were doing a cinnamon sugar topping on them. See, I can still recall it vividly!

NJ2NC-same thing happended to me last week! Boy, that feeling will stay with ya for a while, won't it? I totally understand as I had never had a stuck episode so bad that I actually PB'ed! Gross! Thank heavens I was home and not at work. I see how you can get into the habit of PBing every time something gets stuck as it is immediate relief. However, not good at all for the band. But this time I really felt like I had no control over it and up it came. Gross! Be careful today and maybe even do liquids for most of your meals. I found that I felt really irratated in my throat and even kind of an upset stomach. Also my chest was sore on the right side as well for a few hours afterwards. I ended up feeling so bad that I just went to bed early that evening. Hope you're feeling better now My husband commented to me afterwards that I always have to learn things the hard way. LOL...yep! Lesson learned! Chewing is definitely my friend as are little bites of food! BTW, Cincinnati area here!
  9. Maybe give it some more time? I COMPLETELY understand what you are going through. I am just now where I can really tell that I even have a band. I finally started to feel like I was getting close at my last fill before this. As of today, I am at 11.45cc in a 14cc band. Still on liquids because of the fill so we shall see how it goes. I agree that is soooo hard when you feel like you have no restriction. And you still might need a couple of fills to get you to the elusive "green zone". But keep doing what you are doing as you are totally on it with the weight loss
  10. STOP eating around the band and get back to basics! Start completely over! Go back to a week of liquids, move on to mushies, etc to get back on tract. Watch your calories and get your booty movin

    Finally Hit The 40# Mark:)

Congrats to you! I hit the 40# mark this past week as well after being banded Jan 27. I have 10.75cc in my 14cc band and I can still pretty much eat what I want. Although I did have a stuck episode with rice last night at dinner. Guess it's no longer my friend. But I still feel like I should be eating less. Hope one more small fill puts me in the green zone! Also walking my butt of as well! I am finding I actually enjoy the "me" time it provides and how much better I feel. Now when I don't walk or go to the Y for strength training, I feel "off" for the day. Who wodda thunk? LOL! I had looked at doing the lapband for almost 5 years and almost when through with it before. However, it didn't feel right at the time. Completely agree with you that your head and heart MUST be in the game before you commit to it!

Sooo proud of our January group! What a kick butt group we are! Love getting an email that someone has posted something in our group because most likely I will have had the same issue, concern, etc. Nice to have friends in the trenches with ya. It amazes me as well how different all of our docs are with fills and what each of us need to feel some restriction. I must be a slow learner as I finally getting some restriction, full feeling after getting to 10.75 in my 14cc band! Seriously! Got the fill on Monday and have noticed staying full longer(just got back to "normal" foods). Hope this does the trick. I have been kicking butt on exercise as I am finding it really is the only way for me to lose. My metabolism just needs the kick in the pants that only exercise can bring me. I hit the big 40 pounds lost today!! So excited for all of us to be smaller this summer. We might not be at goal yet but we will ALL be looking lots better
  13. What a horrifying experience to go through! Were you having any odd symptoms, reflux, odd pain? Glad you made it back from the other side

    Cc's

I am at 9.75 as of Monday in my 14cc band. So far, not really noticing anything different. Kind of bummed actually. Still hope it kicks in over the next few days. However, after talking with some of the nurses in the practice, it seems a lot of the women usually find their green zone around 11. Men seem to be less, at least that what they have found.

    Weight Bobbing....

I do the weight bobbing thing as well. Finally it will settle at a weight for a couple of days, then start bobbing again. Once it starts, I know that EVENTUALLY it will be less. Just so frustrating to watch the scale back up once it has come off a higher number. I have thought about weighing once a week but what if I weigh in on a high day? LOL.....really though, not trying to be too serious about it. I know it's a long term commitment

I am at 8.5cc's in a 14cc band and don't have much restriction. My nurse has said most women in the practice seem to be around 11-12 cc's to be in the green zone. I feel close to the green zone but not quite there yet. Hope the next fill on April 9 gets me there. This doing it on your own through calorie counting and still being hungry is getting old!

Hey all! Looks like everyone is on track and doing really well! I know we have all had some bumps in the road but so far, I am lovin' my band! I am currently down 33 pounds and will Celebrate my 2 month bandiversary tomorrow. Can't hardly believe it has been 2 months. I think back to how nervous I was the night before but yet so determined and committed. Great decision and I don't regret it for a minute. I am currently at 8.5 cc's in my 14cc band. My doc has a very aggressive fill policy for which I am grateful! I think I am FINALLY feeling some restriction and am noticing that I am starting to go for longer time periods without eating/snacking. Not in the green zone yet but I hope it's coming soon. The nurse in the office said the average for women they treat seems to be green zone around 11-12cc's. Again, that is on the average so some could have less, others more. The last fill did result in the doc doing it under fluro as my port was angled down towards my feet. Lovely. He did tell me that it could flip but at that moment it had not. He also said that if it flips sometimes he can manipulate it so that he can still get the fill in. If not, surgery to repair. Hoping for the best. Next fill is April 9 so we shall see. Take care everyone

3 Months, 33 Lbs, Very Happy

Agreed that newbies need to read positives as well as negative things about the band. I was banded on 1/27 and am currently down 33 pounds. I have 8.5 in my 14cc band and starting to feel a little restriction. By that I mean I am going longer beween meals without as much hunger as before. I'm not at the green zone yet but feel like it is closer then ever. I have been pretty much white knucklin' through the bandster hell(when you have the band but no restriction) with exercise and good food choices. You can do it but you have to work at it, the band does not work magic.
  20. Just had my first drink last night since being banded 1/27. I had a couple of glasses of wine during the course of the evening with friends. I did notice it did not seem to take much before I was feeling the effects of the alcohol so that might be something to watch. Also, not sure if this is related to the wine but I could NOT sleep last night at all. Felt tired when I went to bed but then was wide awake! So not like me as usually I hit the bed and am out. Not sure if that is related to having the wine or just a coincidence. Just something to keep in mind

Does anyone else feel like their emotions are all over the place? I feel so crabby at work, then I'm crabby at home. I am really kind of feeling more down then I am used to. Maybe it's hormonal from everything that has gone with my body in the past 6 weeks.....anyone else feel out of sorts lately??

First fill here today as well! I had no saline put in during surgery so the NP tried 5cc and then had me drink water. What a weird feeling that was. I could NOT drink it...it felt stuck but then after 30-45 seconds, it seemed to trickle down. Was taking me forever to drink and she was really worried I was too tight. She ended up taking out 1cc so I am at 4 now. Of course doing the liquids, etc for the next few days. I was surprised how much her pushing down on my stomach trying to find my port realllly made me kind of nauseas. Ugh.....and I had to keep my feet raised while she was doing this as it made accessing the port easier. I have to say I was kind of sweaty and a bit nauseas by the time I left the office. Not a horrible experience but not a great time either. I go back in 2 weeks...hope it goes a little smoother
  23. Hi everyone, Banded on 1/27 and have my first fill this coming Monday. Been very hungry every 2-3 hours but holding on.Here is my question/concern....I feel like I am eating such small amounts of food right now, how can I possibly eat any less after a fill? For EX, today for Breakfast: unjury Protein shake in blender with banana Lunch: 2 slices of Boar's head turkey in a low carb wrap, low fat yogurt Dinner: 2 pieces of fish, broc and cauliflower For a snack I might have a Jello later. So overall not a lot of food......so after the fill, I'm going to EAT LESS? LOL....just don't see how! Please help me understand

    Gettting Cold

So glad to know I'm not the only one who is always freezing now! Hubby can't get over the difference as I was always kicking off covers in the middle of the night. Not any longer, head to bed now with layers that I never take off!
  25. Thanks everyone for helping me understand that. Trying not to be nervous for the fill tomorrow
