    College Students

I just finished my last week of school and I'm getting sleeved on 5/11. my mom and I were just saying yesterday how I have perfect timing for the sleeve because I have this week to get prepared for surgery with unpacking and organizing college stuff, going shopping for liquids, and other such things I need to do to prepare. then next week I'm on clear liquids Sunday through Thursday and I don't have plans for anything straineous. Then I'll go into surgery Friday! I'll have another 2 weeks off before I start work for the summer which my boss is very understanding and is going to let me do a lot of office work for a while. I'm very pleased with how timing ended up working out but I have been on this journey since September. I am very glad that I don't have to go back to school until the last couple days of August so I literally will be 3 and a half months post op before I have to start classes again. Although I haven't had surgery yet, I highly suggest finding a time during the school year you can take some time off, let your body rest, and follow your drs instructions to the T.

    Approved Yayayyayay

congrats! I'm may 11th and not sure about travel. I know my dr made it sound like everything would be back to normal work wise after 4 weeks
  9. if anyone had a list of questions they asked their surgeon at the time of their pre op appointment I'd love to hear them! My surgery is May 11 and the pre op is April 23rd. As most of you probably understand my mind had been racing ever since I got approved and I haven't stopped thinking of this surgery. I have started a list of some questions I want to ask like How long is the hospital stay etc but I want to make sure I don't forget to ask something I'm going to end up thinking about after I leave. I know I could always call but I'd like to actually ask these questions to the surgeon. let me know what you guys asked!! thanks

And any other support you could offer me. Im 20 years old and weigh 240. I need to get rid of this weight asap! Help! Thanks
  15. I am 20 years old, 240 lbs, not sure of my exact BMI but I know it's around 38. I have UPMC insurance and it would be great if anyone knew if that covered it as well. I am in college and I have gained 60 pounds in the last 2 and a half years. I just started my junior year of college and I'm afraid im goung to gain another 60 pounds in the next two years. Some advice please! My cousin recently had this surgury and she's 70lbs down in 3 months and I'd kill for that! I wouldn't want to lose more than 100l lbs and stay around 140. Also, Im from Pittsburgh area so if anyone is familiar please let me know. Thanks!
