    The Holiday Challenge

    weight at start of Chalenge 235 Goal weight 227 weight on dect 29th 226 YYYEEEEESSSS I met my weight goal. I am down a total of 42 lbs in little under 3 months. I cannot believe it. I did not do so well in the exercise department. I really enjoyed the challenge. it kept me accountable . Looking forward to doing more of these. Happy New Year to Everyone. Remember the BEST IS YET TO COME. Let's all make 2012 OUR Year. Be Blessed

    October Bandsters!!!

    Hi Fellow October Bandsters I hope everyone is doing well. I have been a little missing in action for a few weeks. I have been occasionally reading posts, but not posting. I have been in a little bit of a standstill for the last few weeks weight wise. I had my first fill on 12/14 ( 3ccs in my 11 CC band) Then out of the blue, I lost 4 lbs when I got on the scale on 12 /22. So that was a nice motivator, it brought my overall total to 41 pounds including the liquid phase. YEEEEAAAAHHHH. I know that during that stall period, I had stopped letting me and my weight loss being one of my primary focuses. I was starting to fall into some old bad habits. I was taking care of everyone else first and me last. And when i do that, I don't concentrate on what I am suppose to eat and eat only when I am suppose to eat. I am going to refocus and do what i need to do to take care of me. I am glad that I can always get back on the bandwagon. Now if i can just get the exercise in constinently, I will be doing a lot better. Merry Christmas and have a Blessed New YEar. take Care,

    checking in at 227.5 Yeeeahhh I am down like 3 or 4 pounds. I don't know how because I have not been thebest this week. I had my first fill last week. I will definitely take it.

    Flying on liquids

    I flew on my first day of my liquid diet. I packed a couple of jellos, some protein powder, crystal light and the lipton cup of soup. When I went through the TSA and they caught the items. I explained that I was on special dietary restrictions and that was all that I could eat. I also carried a small thermos with enclosed sppoon. I had a 4 hour flight from Vegas. The flight attendants gave me hot water and I had the cup of soups. It was tough but it worked out.

    October Bandsters!!!

    Hi all October Bandsters, I just wanted to check in. I am doing ok. I am working on getting my calorie count in a certain range (900) as well as increase my water intake. A friend (fellow october bandster) helped me figure out my fitness pal (thanks). It looks like this will make it easier for me to log my intake. My only struggle is making sure I get my exercise in. The hard part is finding the time to put it into my schedule. I have been in a little bit of a standstill, I have only lost 3 pounds in the last 3 weeks. However, I know that I am losing inches because i am down 2 jean sizes. YEAHHHH. My appetite is coming back which is scary because my first fill is not until Dec 14. Hope everyone is doing well.     Overwhelmed!

    Hi I am 3 weeks post op. Just start small. I stock my fridge and freezer with stuff I knew would work. I bought a bag of frozen chicken legs. I was told dark meat tended to be more moist. I also bought various types of fishing Talapia, Whitening, salmon, I bought a cornish hen, smal packages of ground sirloin, turkey meatballs. I also bought an assortment of veggies ( canned, and frozen). I picked up a number of marinades ( lemon pepper, terrikaki). I made sure items to prepare tuna salad , chicken salad, egg salad. I found some reduced fat crackers to go along with that. I kept snack foods ( cottage chees, hummus, string cheese, applesauce). With this list I know that any given time I can prepare dinner and have leftovers for lunch. My meals consist of a Protein (fish, chicken , turkey) and a veggie. My thought was to slowly ease myself back into regular foods and just keep it simple at first. Hope this helps. I am down 29 pounds since the liquid diet. Take care
  12. Thanks. I called the dietician at my drs. And she allowed me to add in baked fish as an option. I also was a little creative when I made the refried beans adding in sour cream cheese for extra protein. I am trying to pair items as well. So it is better today. I am taking it one day at a time

    October Bandsters!!!

    Hi fellow bandsters, I was banded on Oct 20. I am in my second day of pureed foods. I wondering wether I am getting enough calories in (see my menu from yesterday). I only hit 375 calories. I also was only able to get 1 17 oz bottle of water down. It is not that I am hungry, but I don't think it is healthy with that little amount of calories. I don't want my body to go into starvation mode. I have lost 26 pounds in 3 weeks (17 of it was during pre surgery liquid diet) . How many calories are you all getting in at this stage? breakfast 3 oz pureed egg salad with ff miracle whip 150 cal 12 protein lunch 2.5 oz pureed tuna with FF miracle whip 50 cal 13 protein 1 oz of pureed egg salad with FF whip 50 cal 6 protein Dinner 2.5 oz pureed tuna with FF whip 50 cal 13 protein snack 1/4 cup of cottage cheese 45 cal 6.5 prot total 375 cal 50.5 gr protein. thanks for your help

    October Bandsters!!!

    Hi all, I am officially banded (10/20/11). Yeah!!!!!!. They also repaired a hiatal hernia. I ended up staying the night at the hospital. My surgery was late in the afternoon everything went smoothly. I was sore yesterday especially when I moved around. However, when I woke up this morning I felt much better. I was able to walk the halls at the hospital. I lost 17 pounds on the pre-op diet. I am looking forward to the journey that is ahead. Take Care
