    Arizona newbie here . . .

Hey I'm in AZ too. What doc did u choose? I am located at Ft. Huachuca. I think I'm going to go with dr.Schwartz in Tucson.
  4. I know this thread us ok'd, ut I am wondering if anyone is stil around? I am currently at Ft. Huachucaa and will have surgery with Dr.Schwartz. I was wondering if he dies the surgery in a hospital or at his center? Also, how is everyone doing with their band post op?
  5. Hello!! I visited with Dr. Schwartz a few Fridays ago and I felt like he was great. I noticed he's a bit reserved but gets the information to you that you need. I am wondering what others experiences have been with him or any other bariatric surgeon in Tucson, AZ. How was your pre op and post op experiences? Did you have your surgery un a hospital or at the center ( I definitely prefer mime I'm a hospital)? Any information and experiences is greatly appreciated.

    I'm here!!!

So, I have decided to take this lap band journey. I've pretty much been overweight all of my life and at 22 I am starting to take it serious. I've had many reservations about the surgery but I can't stand to be in this body anymore. I had weighed the pros and cons, saw the success and horror stories and I have to say the pros outweigh the cons. So, I am currently 267, 5'6. I hope to lose 127lbs or fit a size 6, which ever comes first. I should be having my surgery the second or third week of November. I am so excited!!!!

    FEELING DISCOURAGED :(

I would seek another center or hospital. That says a lot to me about their methods and how patients are cared for. Death is always a possibility but to have that many all revolving around a 1800 number seems a little suspicious. If you are having doubts, don't chance it. I wouldn't go to a doctor or center that has a history of deaths.
