  1. I say add some protein somehow. I was starving too and it seemed the liquids just slipped right through my band. I did the Adkins diet and I am convinced that carbos do a number on me with cravings. I don't know how you all feel about raw egg but Orange Julius did the job for me. About 6oz of O.J. to one egg (I think egg beaters would work if you are nervous about the raw egg). Give it a whirl in the blender. Add sugar or sweetner to taste if you need it. Ice if you want a smoothie. Protein powder if you like it. Also egg drop soup. Heat chicken broth in a saucepan. Whip up one egg in a small container. Give the chicken broth a good swirl with a spoon and slowly pour the beaten egg in. I'm still eating these two things even though I'm starting solids now. Good Luck P.S. If your pee is very yellow you are not getting enough water. It should be almost clear at this point.
  2. Wow Larry, What good information you got. No one told me not to worry about not losing pre-fill. I am where you are about 3 weeks post op. I lost 15 the first week then 2 then 1 and I am pretty bummed. The thing is I can eat at least a cup at a time if not more. My Dr. told me a tennis ball sized pouch. So is it the stoma size that's the problem or is my pouch too big? And what is all this talk about no drinks with your meals? Why not? I've just gotten off the smoothies. That was all I did, drink! banded July 14, 2003 220/202@3weeks
  3. I'm having my first fill in a week or two and I am wondering if I have to request how many CC's of fill I want. When I called the radiologist office they said the DR would do some sort of laproscopy something to determine just where the band was placed and how big my stoma was. With a 9mm swedish band what should I expect for a first fill? I'm thinking maybe 3cc's? Anyway in 3 weeks I have lost 18lbs. 14 of that the first week. I can eat enything right now and am just back to dieting until I get the fill. After the 2nd week I was feeling no restriction at all.
  4. Is there anyone out there from WA?
  5. Hi Friends, I am making my first post. I was banded July 14th by Dr Lael (who works with Dr. DeLaGarza) in Progresso Mexico. I am doing great and getting ready for my first fill. I have lost 18lbs in 3 weeks, but I am eating too much again and do not expect to lose more until I get my fill in a few weeks. Did any of the rest of you feel the need for a band so soon after surgery? Jennaband
