  1. Thank you I will be taking your advise.
  2. I love your goals. Your on your way!
  3. Yea, thats exactly what my Nuttritionalist said that at this stage mashed potatoes was fine because your only eating such a little amount. I will say that now that I have tried other foods I do get full a lot faster and can't eat nearly as much. I have been so lucky though in that I haven't gotten sick from anything that I have tried. I did take your advise and bought me a new scale so that I can measure my food so I can start getting an idea of portion sizes. Thanks again for all the advise.
  4. Thanks for posting the pictures, you are looking great!!!
  5. Sounds good can't wait till I can eat that. How far along are you?
  6. "oh yaaaa, I had the same thing!" I think the pain from that was worst than the sleeve. I didn't give up my pain meds till about day 12. So hang in there hopefully you'll start feeling better soon.
  7. So I have a question for you, I'm two weeks out and on Mushy/soft foods. Tonight I had about 1/2 cup mashed potatoes with maybe a tablespoon of sloppy joe mix on top. I was able to eat it no problem. Is this normal or average? I have been mostly on protein shakes I was not into all my food going in a blender. I was just kinda surprised that I was able to it a full half a cup. I felt fine but can't help but think I shouldn't be able to eat that much so soon. I'm terrified that I'm going to stretch my pouch out.
  8. Sorry you are having such a hard time but best not to take any chances. At least there if anything goes wrong they should catch right away. Just try to take it one day at a time it will get better. I wish you all the best and hope you get to go home soon. I know how it is wanting to sleep in your on bed.
  9. I've heard this here and there too, I'm curious too what a slider is.
  10. Sounds good, I'll have to try this one when I can eat solids again. lol
  11. So how do you defizz your soda, just let it sit out? I know one of my biggest pleasures before the surgery was a cold pepsi over crushed ice.
  12. Good advise, that's exactly what he said overdone it and get rest.
  13. Thanks for all the advise, it seems that this is quit common. I took joiebeans' advise and called my Doctor. Sure enough he said it looked like I had overdone it and to get some rest. I crack up thinking of all us on our computers being so full of gas. lol but I am glad to say that after a couple days rest I feel alot better. Just need to slow down and take it easy.
  14. I was having a sharp pain on my left side a couple of days ago so I called my Doctor and he said that I had overdone it. There is a muscle they have to go through to get to your stomach. I was told to slow down and it is feeling alot better nowl. Hopefully you've just done the same and it will get better soon but remember if you have any doubt call your Doctor and ask him.
  15. I had my surgery on the 9th of February. Everything went great and I have had no problems other than trying to make sure I get all my protein in for the day. When I woke up this morning though I had a pain in my left side it was kind of a sharp pain. It reminded me of when you have been running and you get a cramp in your side. Not sure what it is and was curious if anyone else has had any similar pain? I know the body goes through a lot with the surgery and I should expect some pain here and there. Just wanting to make sure it's not something I need to worry about.
  16. Had my surgery on the 9th everything went great. I can not say enough good things about the Dr.'s and Staff at Puget Sound Surgical. Have been on my liquid / protein diet and am really looking forward to some applesauce. I have felt really good with minimal discomfort. So far I am down 20lbs and I have ankles I haven't seen those in forever. We're already back home in Alaska and I can't wait to see what the future brings or takes away...If anyone is thinking about having this surgery but is not quite sure, DO IT! You will not regret it.
  17. I am so sorry to hear about loss. I can't imagine what your going through. My heart goes out to you and yours. Hang in there and just remember your Mom is still with you.
  18. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is an awesome birthday present for yourself! I'm having my surgery that day as well, flying from Alaska to Seattle. It's so exciting but I can't help but be nervous at the same time.
  19. GOOD LUCK!!! I fly down to Washington next Monday but my surgery is not till Thursday. Everytime I start thinking about it now I get butterflies. I know though that it will all be good and I can't wait to start the losing process.
  20. I have BCBS-Fed and my out of pocket is 5000.00, which I am now trying to find financing for. I believe I am going to try the CareCredit line and see how that goes. It seems to me to be a huge difference between the insurance companies. Good luck it can agravating just trying to figure out a total. I didn't get a number till I was approved for my surgery.
  21. Hi, I see that you had your surgery at Puget Sound Surgical Center. I am having mine there also on the 9th of February. How were they? Are they Friendly? Is there any Hotels near the Center? It's so cool finding someone else who's had their surgery there also.
  22. I was just approved last week and on one note I was so excited but after that sank in and I reread the email a couple of times I was bummed to learn that I was going to have to pay 5000.00 which I don't have. I'm looking into getting CareCredit card or borrow against my 401. All I know is I have to have this surgery with my health I can't keep going the way I am, I want to live to see my grandkids. Don't give up!!!!
  23. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! I'm going in on the 9th of February, isn't it nice to finally be done with the waiting and now on to the losing!!!!
  24. Thank you all! I hope everyone had a Happy New Year!!!!!
