  1. It was a great day. My husband, Bear and I had our final consults at the clinic today. All the paper work, evals, and medical is completed. Our Nurse Navigator said no 6 month monitoring is required by Blue Cross of Nebraska. Their reports will go to insurance company next week. She said that it can be as quick as 1 week or up to 4 to get a response. Learned about the pre-op diet and risks of WLS. It is full speed ahead, now to begin the Diet Coke Detox.
  2. My hubby and I are also at the mercy of the insurance company and their time schedule. We both would like to be banded before the new year, as at this time we have no out of pocket expenses. Take a deep breath and TRY to relax> Sending good thoughts your way.
  3. Anyone out there in the Omaha, NE. area ?

    Time off work ?

I am anxious to hear the different time frames to get back to work. I'm a social worker, not hard work and get to move around a lot. I don't have a lot of vacation time and would like to get a idea of what to expect. Thanks

  8. Seems like things are moving so slowly. After seeing the surgeon and having the scope done, we were referred to his bariatric center but could not get in until 10/13/11. I made contact with the nurse navigator and she gave me a list of things we could take care of before our appointments. So all medical records have been sent, psy testing done, yearly physical and testing completed. My dr. tested my V-D level to find I was very low. Will start 12.00 iu once a week to be good by surgery. day.

  9. You look fabulous...congrats on your new Look & Life.
  10. We have both had our psy eval and ready to keep moving forward on this exciting journey. The provider met with me for 1 hour and my husband for 45 minutes. She gave us a thumbs up and said she would send the paperwork tot the bariatric center by next week. Feeling good and looking forward to the next step.
  11. I did my psy in one hour and my husband was only in for 45 minutes. Thumbs up and ready roll.

    Brand new to forums

Our family dr. recommended our surgeon. We each had an appt. with the surgeon and a did a endoscope to make sure we could move forward. Hoping to have surgery dates in Nov. for me and my Hubby in Dec. Talk to friends and check out several surgeons until yo find the one who is right for you. Good luck.
  13. My psy eval is on Monday morning. Only a 1 hour session as required by Blue Cross of Nebraska. Back to the Center on 10-14 to finish up ck. list and send to insurance company.
  14. Sounds like your time to surgery was short..30 days. I am waiting to get in to the med and psy eval. I am hoping my insurance will cover Blue Cross is good about it. congrats on the 20 ponds. Way to Go.

  15. I had a the original gastric bypass in 1978. I am pre surgery for the band. maybe things have improved in 30 years. I lost 125, and maintained until 2004 when I had a crisis in my life. Wishing you the best, whatever you decide.
