  1. I've had my band for 3 years and food still gets stuck. I'm having it adjusted again. I lost only 20 lbs. Very disappointed with the band.
  2. My appetite started coming back too around 3 weeks after surgery. I stopped losing weight. I really don't notice a big difference with my first fill, but many seem to say they have to find the sweet spot. I really can't wait for my second fill in 3 weeks. Don't get discouraged. I went a little crazy eating last weekend and put on 2 pounds. I got right back on track on Monday, I weighed myself this morning, and I took off 3 pounds! But sometimes, I just have to give into my hunger or I'm miserable. But I notice with the band, I can get back on track whereas before the band, I would have gained all 17 pounds back and then some by now!
  3. My doctor did my fill right in the office. I was expecting an exray and somthing more complicated! In fact, I had asked the nurse if I had to go to the "lab" to have it filled, and she said yes. But I asked my doc when he came in the room, and he said "no, we'll do it right here" !! No issues.
  4. I'm having an adjustment the day before Thankgiving. Perfect timing!!
  5. I had my surgery on Oct 14, and my first fill last week. I lost 17 pounds so far, but haven't shed a pound in over 2 weeks! I don't think the fill did anything. I'm going for another fill the day before Thanksgiving. I'm hoping I'll see a difference. I know how you feel.....I'm a little discouraged too. but these forums help a lot.
  6. I got my first adjustment last week. I go for another in 3 weeks. I don't feel the first fill did anything so I am anxious to see what the 2nd will do. You say you get adjusted every 2 months. Can the adjustments stretch?
  7. I was banded on Oct 14 and lost 17 pounds in the first 4 weeks. I'm now at a standstill and I had my first adjustment last week. I'm hungry! My second adjustment is the day before Thanksgiving! I hope it helps.
  8. I had my surgery on Tuesday. I could have returned to work today with no problem, but took the time off anyway. I lost 10 pounds in just 6 days! I didn't take any pain pills, but I have to say my shoulder hurt for 5 days (common complain). My nurse told me Gas-X does not work because it's not really gas pain, it's the nerves that are aggrevated from being blown up with air!! But, if some people got relief, it doesn't hurt to try. Best of luck to you. So far, I'm very, very pleased. .
  9. I just had my surgery yesterday. I feel fantastic! I came home and went to the store with my husband (I can't drive for 24 hours after surgery). My only complaint is the gas pain in my shoulder, but today it's much better. I have very little pain where the 5 incisions are. I scheduled 5 days off work (7 days total with the weekend), but I think I could go to work on Monday. Best of luck to you! and contrats! Carol
  10. This is very helpful. I'm scheduled for my lap band tomorrow morning!! I can't wait, but I'm nervous too.
  11. I'm going on the 14th. So nervous. I really didn't get any information from my doctor. My insurance approved my surgery, and the doctor's office scheduled my surgery, and told me what time to be at the hospital! That's it. No literature. Nothing.
