Try to add in a protein shake. Initially the protein is more important than the total calories. These will came up as you add more solid foods.

Congratulations on your success! -
I have had very few headaches since banding. Did you drink a lot of caffeine before? I recommend you chat with your surgeon about this.

Improving Shape/ Reducing Waste Line?
CHEZNOEL replied to lalinda1236's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree... I know of no garment that will permanently change your waistline. Spanx, and their sister products Assets are very good for support though. -
The doc said if it hurts change positions.

Congratulations.... that is a tough one. The good news is, that I can eat popcorn now that I am in maintenance. Smaller portions, but just a taste is enough!

I agree... it is hard to imagine gaining unless you were eating a lot of the wrong foods. Go back the basics... pretend you are newly banded and progress slowly through the stages again. Be honest with your self about calorie intake and portion sizes. It is easy to let these creep up on you. Best wishes, and do what you know you need to do to get healthy. What other people think is none of your concern! Want it and do it!

Each doctor varies greatly. Call yours to check in. I will tell you that my calories intake the first several weeks was very low. It will increase as you add in more healthy foods.

What are the symtoms of band slippage or ripped stitches
CHEZNOEL replied to baba's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If there is a serious problem you will know. Follow your doctors orders and you will never have to find out! Worrying about it can cause false symptoms. Use the time to plan ahead for meals and snacks. It is a much more productive use of your time. -
Dream, dream, dream..........
CHEZNOEL replied to NJHAZMAT's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Many report dreaming about food during the initial periods of weight loss. It is a way for the body to mourn it's old friend food! I don't think you are at all crazy or psychotic. -
Congrats on your hard work. I can see that it is paying off for you! Keep it up!

New one for me too! Let us know what it is all about!

Constipation
CHEZNOEL replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take a half dose of Miralax every day, under docs orders to maintain normal bowel activity. Miralax is tasteless and dissolves in any liquid. I highly recommend it. The only thing that worked for me. I feel your pain! -
looks like I may have to pay out of pocket...
CHEZNOEL replied to ShirleyJ84's topic in Insurance & Financing
I was self pay, and while your quote seems a bit high, I have never regretted the surgery for a moment. It is the best gift you can can ever give yourself... to be well and healthy! Good Luck!
