AM I REALY READY?
CHEZNOEL replied to jessicawinston's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try spreading your protein shakes out into half portions. That way you will eat more frequently and not go as long without eating. It is hard, but it good for your surgery. Keep up your non protein fluids as well. That will help! You can do this. A lot of us have been where you are now. You have to WANT it enough to get through. Best wishes. See you on the other side! -
Keep it up. You can do it! And the results are so worth it!

Reviews on which lotion to use
CHEZNOEL replied to GoingforGoal's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I know of no lotion that will make the kind of permanent changes you are seeking. I have talked extensively with dermatologists and a plastic surgeon. There is no magic lotion cure for sagging skin. Many lotions can improve appearance, but if you don't use them forever, I am afraid you go right back to where you were. Save the money for lotions for Plastic Surgery. In the long term you will get better results. -
Fat Set Point Theory and Plateaus...
CHEZNOEL replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The article stated that those who make lifestyle changes can successfully overcome the set point. I have a lap band. It is not a diet, it is and will continue to be a life style change! -
What Happens if I get Sick ie: the flu
CHEZNOEL replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have the flu? If not, then don't waste your precious energy worrying about what could happen. Just follow your doctor's instructions and call him immediately if you have a problem. Best wishes. -
Doctor holding back fills
CHEZNOEL replied to ShonnaJB's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Track your food, and weigh or measure. It is the only way to be sure you are eating the correct amounts of the right foods. Plateaus are common, some lasting for several weeks. Fills are not the the solution to weight loss. Good food management, healthy choices, exercise and a positive attitude go a long ways. As someone who has been TOO FULL, trust me, you don't want to go there. Make sure you are getting your fluids in every day. You chose the doctor, now listen to him, he has done this before and you have not. You need to trust his advice. Best wishes. -

You can add Benefiber to your liquids, it dissolves clear, no clumping. If that does not help, then try Miralax. It also dissolves clear and is a non cramping laxative recommended by my surgeon's NP. Even after 16 months, I need a half dose of Miralax daily to keep me moving. The high protein diet affects some people that way. If you do not have success within 5 days, call you doctor. You do not want an intestinal blockage. Many will recommend Potassium Citrate, available in most drug stores.

No, it is a fluro fill. The xray just watches the barium go down to ensure everything is working correctly. The fill liquid is always saline.

Boyfriend didnt agree with surgery
CHEZNOEL replied to katiedee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
He either gets it or he doesn't. I would give him the space to come around. If he doesn't you will soon be so gorgeous there will be plenty of replacement offers. Being healthy is the most important part of life and enjoying life. You made a decision for you, hooray. Now he can get on board or the train will eave the station. -
Walk as much as possible. it really does help the gas!

Getting nervous and low grade fever
CHEZNOEL replied to nicolelmartinez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good... at least you can stop worrying about it! They will likely give you antibiotics during or after surgery. -
Yep... nervous is normal, but it will be over before you know it. Try not to stress too much. All will be well!

It is important to be comfortable with the medical team that is involved in your lap band process. I agree with the poster above. You might want to interview another place and see it you can find a fit. -
yes... for the most part. I have never been stuck on cottage cheese.

Take the seminar and ask lots and lots of questions! They key will be to follow the plan your surgeon prescribes, not someone elses! Good luck to you! -
