  1. Thanks for the replies. I am really going to watch my intake and see what happens. Wolverine Girl. I am 6 weeks out and down 32 pounds. 28 pounds the first two weeks. I just keep to the plan and keep walking. Pounds are slow but inches are just starting to come off. I am already down a pant size. Find other ways to measure growth. I found this helped me from getting discouraged.

    <sigh> I gave in....

Thanks for the support. The Hershey kiss was not as good as I expected, but the ice cream was heavenly! Back on track today!
  3. Thanks for the advice. Yes, I probably have come too far to slip up now. What's one more day?
  4. I just had a lap band revision to bypass surgery one week ago. I am not supposed to eat any pureed foods for another day but I am so hungry. I just can't take anymore protein shakes. I eat applesauce when I need to mix my potassium and can take down more than 60 ounces of fluid. Anyone eat earlier than they were supposed to? What were the results?

    Don't get a lap band

I was unsuccessful with the band for several reasons. I wasn't ready. I could eat as much as I wanted and didn't feel full. I didn't have support from my husband. I have an insulin resistance issue and while I was eating less, it still wasn't working. Horrible acid reflux - even with no restriction. I never lost weight, except for the initial 30 pounds prior to the surgery since I was on the liquid diet. Fast forward 4 years later and I am scheduled for Gastric Bypass. I do have support from my husband. It will solve my insulin issue. I realize you stop eating before you feel full and many more reasons. More importantly, mentally, I am ready. It is a better option for me. Everyone has their own journey. I will say that the band is not for everyone and I would do your research before taking that option.
  6. I am about to embark on the pre-op diet, appointments, etc. and I am starting to freak out. I am having my lapband removed and gastric bypass on 1/12. This evening I started my online courses and started to panic. They outline all the complications, vitamins (3x daily), nutrition requirements, etc. and it just is starting to feel too much. My doctor has me on a 3 week liquid diet prior to surgery. I will miss Christmas and I am going on vacation. Vacation was planned before the surgery, pre-paid, and I didn't know that was when I would be on the liquid diet. What do you do when you start to feel overwhelmed? I could really use advice. I want to do this but I have a bad track record of failing when I can't do everything perfectly. It is kind of what got me here in the first place.
  7. Thank you so much for the encouragement @@heather5565! I had the band for almost 4 years. I only lost 30 lbs pre-op and 20 lbs the first two weeks after surgery. I would constantly spit up food/fluid with the band (filled and unfilled). I am also insulin resistant which doesn't help. I am now 80 lbs over my pre-band weight so I gained all I lost and 80 lbs more. It has been a journey. I am now going to have my band out and having gastric bypass. A little bruised and beaten to say the least...
  8. I am having my lap band taken out and the bypass performed on 1/12. My pre-op liquid diet starts on 12/22. Any suggestions on how I can make it through the holidays??
  9. That is the weird thing.....I can eat almost without restriction (at least more than I should be able to...)
  10. Since my last fill, I have been experience a feeling of heartburn and being "stuck". Now I am getting an extreme bloating feeling (stomach expanded almost by 3 inches) and a weird 'butterfly' feeling in my belly. I also gained 6 pounds in a month. Anyone have slippage or get these same feelings when they were overfilled? I have a fluoroscope appointment Wednesday but wondering if I should wait that long. Thoughts?
  11. I wish I was doing well. I was banded 8 months ago. I have only lost 16 pounds. I don't eat anything but protein and a few fruits and veggies. Not sure what they are going to do but my doctor asked me to think about going the bypass route. The hardest part is the sadness and feeling of being deprived. Everyone has there own journey and I wish and pray it works out better for you.
  12. I had the Lap Band Surgery in October and I have only lost 15 pounds. I have met with the Nutristionist and am taking on about 1000 calories a day. She mentioned that sometimes people with PCOS have been unsuccessful with Lap. Any one else been where I am?
  13. Thank you for all the advice. I thought it may be too tight but wasn't sure since it had been too long since the fill. I have been eating much less and adding a shake or two instead of food. It has Helped. I am going to give it a few days, add more walking and see how it goes. You have no idea how much your comments helped!
  14. BAnded on 10/28/11....have lost about 35 pounds and then stopped. Haven't lost in four months. I have had had several fills and the last one was in March. All of a sudden I am getting very bad heartburn, especially at night. Has this happened to anyone?
