  1. Ok ladies I'm totally frustrated and need your help! I'm down almost a hundred pounds (I haven't been on the site for awhile so I'm not sure what my signature says) and I'm at the point where I DESPERATELY need new bras but I put on a c cup and my boobs look squished and super wrinkly but if I put a d on its too big! I've tried different sizes around too but now I think it may be the style. I started out as a 44D and I think I'm around a 38-40 c or d now but who knows! And I know I could get measured but I don't want to spend a ton of money on a bra that may not fit for long Anyone have this problem and if so have any tips, brands, styles that have helped!? Thank you all so much!
  2. Hello All Most of the people I interact with a daily basis know I had surgey, but, when I speak to someone and they hear how much weight I have lost (103 pounds!!) I rarely tell them I had WLS. A girlfriend of mine who is actually in the WLS approval process asked me why when people ask me do i not mention the band? I find that people dismiss the success when you even elude to the fact that it might be medical advantage and not dieting. People dont realize its not the silver bullet they think it is. It required work everyday?! I shouldnt care what people think but I DID work hard and I have made the lifestyle changes necessary for this weight loss. It bothers me when people say "OOOhhhh you had surgery" What do you all think? Have you felt this way? How do you answer this question? Much love!
  3. For some reason I get every notification under the sun for this site but no emails that you all replied to this one lol! Thank you so much! I think I have to come to terms with I can't have the nice cleavage I had 100 lbs ago AND be thinner! Lol

  5. I had my surgery feb 2011 and I'm down 87 pounds 57 of it being in the last 6-8 months seriously stay strong it starts fast than slows down quickly! Alot if people get discouraged but I'm proof you'll get past it! Focus on the process not the outcome- contine to give your body what it needs and I promise the weight will start melting off!

    February Bandsters?

I was banded feb 15, 2011 and down 86 pounds! Good luck to all of you dont get disappointed if your loss is slow (turtle like if you will) at first! I know my first 3-4 months were torturous but I stuck with the plan and see my doctor every 6 weeks and I've been very successful and you will be too.!!!

    Psycholgical Support After Banding

The pre screening psych eval is merely to show you have a realistic understanding of what the surgery will do for you and that you have a support system. With that said I firmly believe that therapy was the beat thing for me personally when i started to get close to 200 i started to sabotage myself because i hadnt been under 200 for 15 years i just couldnt accept it. I had always used food to cope.. When I stopped doing that I replaced it with other negative behaviors like smoking and shopping. It wasn't until I realized I did not have a normal relationship with food or my weight that I saw the number going down again
  8. I'm just getting back into this group I was having problems with my phone add me! My name on there is MrsBoothe
  9. Hello All! I know that this topic has been covered but I have found ONDERLAND!!!! I was having alot of problems with the whole idea of being in the 100s because I have been in the 200s for over half my life and it has defined me for so long. My weight has been part of my personality and humor for years! I actually started sabotaging myself thinking the more I lost the harder it would to keep it off. I cant speak for the future but I could have never imagined how amazing it was going to feel. I promised everyone that when I got under 200 I would go skydiving so now I have to pony up and put my money where my mouth is and actually book the appointment but I feel amazing!!! What did you do when you hit onderland?!! Love you all you have been such an inspiration to me!
  10. If your band slipped you would have had extreme pain in your chest. I experienced alot of pain when my fiber intake was increased. I learned this after a trip to the hospital and MRI showed nothing was wrong but I could laugh walk or breath without discomfort Good luck try changing up your diet and see if that improves it
  11. If the pill is scored you can just put it on a flat surface and push down on both sides. But don't EVER Crush or split a time released pill this can lead to your body processing it all at once and with some medications could cause illness and death it's best to check with your pharmacist who will know more about the actual medication than your doctor will
  12. The expected loss for lapband is 80% of your excess body weight. For everyone that is different for me it is about 80 pounds I've lost almost 70 in less than a year I just always remind myself it took 27 years to put on the weight it's not going to come off over night Good luck!
  13. Hello all! I'm so close to onderland (don't pay attention to my signature in down to 206 but on my iPhone) I am finding myself cheating every chance I get I was talking to a friend about how I was actually scared to get to under 200 because it would be the first time I was in over 15 years! Maybe I'm scared that I will get under and than gain some back and be demotivated bc I had gotten so low I have no idea why I am sabotaging myself like this!!! Did anyone else experience this when they got to milestones like this??

    Is this PBing?

Poultry is notoriously hard for us bandsters when I think textured protein I think ground beef that's what I personally starts on .. Meat balls with a ton of sauce for lubrication Good luck!!!
  15. I use to drink while I ate at the beginning before any fills now I wouldnt dare try it! I can drink before I eat but unless it's tiny sips of hot tea if thins aren't going down smoothly I can't drink at all! It's one of the things they said to start before even having the surgery but it's so counter intuitive! I woul have waiters say "really!?! Are you sure you don't want anything to drink" and they would end up bringing me water anyway which I would quickly push towards my husband because if it's infront of me I'll accidentally drink just out of habit!
  16. Wow thank you for sharing this with me I was afraid I was te only one! I threw away my scale this morning lol I've become so fixated on the number that I have lost sight of the process! I'll be weighed at my next doctors appointment the second week of December.. My husband actually works for my surgeon (not how we met and my new doc isn't the one who preformed the surgery lol) and I'll be happy to share whatever success I have with him than! I know what you mean up until a few years ago I was always smaller than my twin sister and I know she felt satisfaction when I passed her on the scale but now I see it in her face when I try something on that she didn't fit into but hopefully it will just inspire her to work on it. I think my fear is once I get out of te 200s if I have get back to the 2's I'll be so devastated that I won't be able to keep myself from getting here again! I tell my husband he traded up when he married me I was the heaviest weight of my life on my wedding day Nov 6th of last year and I really should just vow never to live like that again! My hubby does not have a weight issue he has alittle tunmy but has always been slender i told him the other day that I just want to weigh less than him and his response was "well just keep feeding me cheeseburgers it will happen" LOL I love him!
  17. Here's the thing, between Doctor appointments, fills, blood work and any other regular doctor appointments I always make my $500 deductible, a lot of Surgeons advertise that they take insurance but they actually only take out of network benefits which means they can charge you anything they want and balance bill you what insurance doesn't pay, with that being said the fact the office is saying that they will take the insurance payment and your deductible as payment is great but get that in writing. Also if the doctor writes off the balance the insurance will see it as if you paid it so if you have to pay a percentage after your deductible is met the cost will most likely eat up all your maximum out of pocket expenses for the year. I would highly recommend having the surgery after the new year.I had mine in February and basically all of my doctors appointments/adjustments have been paid in full for the rest of the year because i hit my max out of pocket for the year. This is the benefit of being married to an insurance specialist LOL Good Luck!
  18. When youre out to dinner you are the only person still eating but still have 3/4 of your food on your plate and ask for a doggy bag
  19. Well that is my ultimate goal but the first HUGE milestone is 199 I've been a yo yo dieter forever and was never able to break the 200s with it being so close I don't know why I'm so terrified of it!

Forget the doctor got to the emergency room. A) the insurance wil not be able to deny it and if it is a slip you need to have a revision as soon as possible DO NOT WAIT!
  22. That's so cool you definitely sound adventurous! My husband was in the military too (hooah!!) but he was medically discharged shortly after his second deployment. What is a static line jump??? Sounds less scary than sky diving but just as fun!
  23. Oops make that only 9 pounds to go! Haha I've definitely hit the sweet spot!
  24. My husband had tricare when he was deployed butane I've never heard great things about it from the wives. Your bmi doesn't have to be tested they use your height and weight. GOod luck I'm sure it will be approved unless they have time restrictions
  25. My first major reward will be going skydiving when I'm under 200 I'm only 10 pounds away so my husband keeps joking about upping my life insurance but he does not have a weight issue so he doesn't understand. The other day I told him "I just want to weigh less than my husband" and he replied with "well just keep feeding me cheeseburgers" lol I have 30 pounds to go until i weigh less than him I started out almost 100 pounds more! Reward yourself with something other than food!!! Haha how many times do you hear "oh my gosh thaw great we should go out to dinner to celebrate!" haha
