I'll tell you this- if my sleeve can handle it I will 100% have movie popcorn again in my life! All things in moderation and I will certainly not be eating the entire bucket myself... But I will enjoy it. I chose sleeve so that I could have all things in moderation!

Of course over the last year I know I've lost a lot of weight. I've watched the scale go down and I've had to replace clothes more often then I care to think about ($$$$)... But it took doing this collage to realize that I am living my dream! I am happy and healthier than I have ever been. I'm marrying the man of my dreams and family members I dearly care about have decided to seek surgical options for weight loss after watching my struggles and finanlly my success.

Hey all. I was sleeved 12/5/11. I've lost a 114 pounds so far. Things have slowed down for me a lot lately too, but I know it'll happen! I've gone from size 22 jeans to my 12s getting to be a bit bigger. I too have a hard time with regular Water, but I love Propel. I still struggle with getting in enough fluids too. And I find myself wanting to snack a bit here and there. I've given into it too much lately and the fact that I started dating a chef doesn't help much either. At least what he makes is fresh ingredients and usually healthier options.
So glad you are all doing well!
    Keep it up!

Sleeved 12/5/11 and aside from the exhumation the first two months no complications. Since surgery I've lost about 72 pounds. I'm currently in my second stall I can eat just about anything, but I do have to be careful because I can get some wicked heartburn!

Hi guys, I had no idea this thread would grow so much!
So nice to meet you all and good luck to you all on your journey.
It's crazy easy at first because it feels like no matter what you do the weight literally just falls off. I've lost 113 pounds in about 9 months, the first 105 being a cake walk. I don't mind working for the things I want though so it is going to happen!

Surely you are someone outside of your surgery and struggles with our weight. You have interests and dislikes and families- jobs and hobbies. And honestly- yes it is exciting to have this stool and to be on the journey- but hasn't there been enough focus all our lives on just our weight?
I know VST is dedicated to our VSG stories, but I sort of think that who we are makes our VSG surgeries that much more meaningful.
    So I'll go first...
I'm Danielle. I'm 27 and I have three sisters and one nephew. I am unmarried and have no children. I work full time running the office for a respiratory company. This semester I am also attending college full time via online classes. I'm now also trying to squeeze in going to the gym three times a week.
I suffer from PCOS and had this surgery to help increase my chances of having a family of my own one day.
I am a TOTAL girly girl! I love the color pink, I like Hello Kitty the way others like Betty Boop or Tinkerbell, and I HATE HATE HATE spiders! I'm not much of an outdoorsie person- my idea of roughing it is five girls and one bathroom. That being said I do love to garden and can't wait for spring.
I love anything to do with 16th century european history and am a total fanatical nut when it comes to Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth I. My favorite movie and book of allllllllll time is Gone With the Wind. I love watching old movies with my mom- our favorites are Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, anything with Doris Day and the Tammy movies. We also make a point of watching A League of Their Own together whenever it is on tv. I'm close with my Dad but sometimes I feel like we don't have anything in common.
Prior to surgery I loved home cooked food! (Along with chinese and pizza hut haha) I still enjoy cooking for my family (One sister, my parents and I all live together for economic reasons) and resumed cooking them meals within a few days of coming home from the hospital. I have a dog, she is a chihuahua/yorkie mix. Her name is Gypsy and well... she is sort of a monster!! I <3 her tho!
Now it's your turn!! Tell us who you are!

I love crossing my legs and weighing less than my boyfriend!
I also love NOT shopping in plus size exclusive stores.. And just shopping in general- especially thrift stores cuz I am now able to find stuff! I also love knowing that I'm not done. I've lost 115 pounds about and would still like to lose about another 50 but I only have 36 pounds to go to hit my original goal of 160.

I'm gonna weigh in here as a SOMEWHAT professional. And by professional I mean I studied skin in beauty school and worked for years doing said wraps and scrubs.
For the most part, time is your best bet with loose skin. It is what it is. Avoiding tanning will help with the appearance of aged skin (which is loose skin) in the years to come- that's just common sense.
The wraps/massages/scrubs all accomplish the same thing. They stimulate blood flow which in turn allows things to heal better/faster. And really- loose skin is sort of just skin that needs to heal. Some things heal better than others.
Remember all those skinned knees as a kid? How many scars do you have from it? How many faded away? Your skin healed OVER TIME!
These suggestions have worth. The one I think I disagree with the collagen lotions. A lotion may moisturize but it's temporary. Things that will really nourish and strengthen hair, skin, and nails are nutritious foods and lots of Water.

I'm going to pipe up here. My nutritionist WANTS me eating fruit! Until 3 months post op I could barely get out of bed and literally had to crawl there sometimes at night I was so exhausted. Spoke to my nutritionist at a 3 month follow up, told her what was going on and she said FRUIT! Now I eat 2 servings of fruit a day (a total of 1 cup of fruit) and I feel better. I notice if I got a few days without eating fruit I start to get sluggish again. Fruit is not a bad thing and this recipe is delicious as I'ce tried it several times.

I've done every 25 pounds for something really nice like a makeover at MAC or Clinique. But every 10 pounds I try to do something a little special too like a new bottle of nail polish (I purchase the gel polishes so they are $15-$20 a pop). I'm quickly approaching 100 pounds lost and wondering the same thing. I really think I'm going to splurge for a full body massage. I find as I've lost weight and my body is re-adjusting itself to its new shape I have some aches and pains and figure it would be a nice way to relieve stress!

I've had popcorn several times since my surgery because I am/was a popcorn addict. I limit myself to one of the 100 calorie microwave packs a week and only if I've been good during the week with exercise and eating. I may catch heat for this comment but, I had surgery so I could eat a little of everything I love. I know a lot of people won't do that until after they are at goal, but I don't want getting to goal to be miserable so I allow myself to enjoy some popcorn. I'm prepared and willing for whatever consequences there may be from my eating it. Good luck

Today it was the amount of space between my belly and the steering wheel. Tomorrow it will be that I can go out to eat with my sister and be happy just talking to her instead of scarfing down food. Next week it'll be buying size 12s... It's amazing. Pray- you'll get the answer.
