You are definitly Hot hot hot!!!! Keep up the great work!!!

I agree with Rootman as I have not felt that way. Maybe it is the gas they pumped in your body working its way out and you will start to feel better soon. Check with your doc though just to be safe.
-
The gas build up is something you are eating that your body is not digesting. So the bacteria in your intestines are breaking it down for you and giving off gas as they work away. But if you are on liquids then the saying goes liquids in liquids out. I had similar problems in the beginning for the first 4 weeks (I am sure it was the Protein Shakes for me). Do not get the episodes as often now (maybe once a month) and I get all my Protein from food. Check with your doc as to what he/she thinks.

With the sleeve you will eventually be able to eat everything again (just in smaller portions). No malabsorption. I have waited for years for the right kind of WLS to come along researching everything that had come out before and only got my engine going when I started to research the sleeve. I am a happy sleever at just over 5 months out and soon will have lost 100lbs. I am going to be dancing that day.
Do your research and make sure you feel completely comfortable with your decision. I did and chose the sleeve.

When I was post op I took my gummy vitamins and dissolved them in a cup of hot Decaf tea. It flavoured the tea and I got my Vitamins in. I too tried the samples of chewable multi vits and my tummy did not like them. In and out in under 1 min. Now that I am farther along I eat my chewable vitamins.< /p>

Migraines are usually triggered by something. Have you figured out what your triggers are? If they are things that you can remove from your life that would be great, but there are some triggers that you can not avoid. I have no idea if VSG could help a Migraine unless the trigger was a food item that you cut out.
Best to ask your doc this one for a more informed response.

Your body is saying WTF!!!! and may be holding onto Fluid right now. Give it some time the weight will start to drop off soon. I promise!

I would just make the pizza and see what he says first. Then say guess what its made with? I have never heard of zucchini pasta I will have to look it up in the stores.

Ok, I admit that even though I try to do the best I can with carbs I still probably eat too many carbs. My downfall is I haven't found alternative to my fav foods to make them lower carb. Things like spaghetti, for example. I make it as healthy as I can (I ground veggies into tiny specs so my oldest won't realize they are in there lol) but the one part I haven't been able to get around is the Pasta. I have tried the whole grain stuff and none of us like the aldente-ness (??) of it. I boiled those noodles for like an hour and they never got tender, which is the way we prefer it. To me they don't seem done if they aren't tender. So is there a low carb/no carb alternative that actually gets tender? Keep in mind if I find anything good I will use it post-op too so the lower the carbs the better! Another thing is pizza... I know, I know, its not the healthiest thing but every so often I cave and when I do I would like it to be sleeve friendly (for post op) and nutrition friendly in general. Like I said b4 I make it as healthy as possible but I haven't been able to find a crust (Its has to be ready made. I have 2 kids, go to school, looking for a job and I don't have the time to make from scratch) that is low-no carb that doesn't make it taste like crap. Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance. Nothing else may exist but I figured if anyone would know you ladies & gents would
Have you tried Shirataki noodles? Personally I do not like them but there are many people who do. If you are going to try them only buy one bag (WASH them really well before cooking). I do not think they need long to cook. I did not like their texture but then again I like my Pasta aldente. You could give it a go and see if its a nice alternative.
Pizza Crust I have an awesome crust that is low carb AND is tasty. It is made with cauliflower!! Thats right I said cauliflower. Here is the link to the recipie Cauliflower pizza dough. I have also been meaning to try these low carb crepes I just have not gotten around to it, here is the link Low carb crepes.
Hope you find these recipies yummy!

I'm on regular diet and have been since the first week of july. I had my surgery on june 11. I read the forums and people are able to take in over 70 grams of Protein and 64 oz of Water a day and are able to keep the carbs less than 30 grams a day. I was told it was better to get most of my proteing from food and not the shakes. The problem is I can't get more than 30- 40 grams of Protein (if i'm lucky) and 30 oz of Water a day. It take me so long to eat, I keep pushing back when I can drink and then i forget to drink. I'm worried about muscle loss and dehydration. I'm feeling overwhelmed.
I've tried greek yogurt and cottage cheese but did not like them. I have been good making sure i eat 2 to 3 times a day. what foods have high protein and low calorie beside meat.
thanks for your help.
I had trouble with cottage cheese eating it plain. I would add one or two tablespoons of mashed potatoes and some salt and pepper to it to make it taste better. It is only a couple of spoons of potatoes so you should not have to worry about too many carbs.
String cheese for a snack gives you a 5 g protein boost, tuna with mayo and dill pickle relish was another favourite of mine (not sure if you consider fish a meat).
Glass of milk and add a scoop of powder milk to it to boost the protein. Plus you can count the glass as a Fluid.
Peanut Butter sometimes I would take a spoon and eat it right off the spoon. Any nut butter for that matter.
Are you a vegetarian? Or does meat bother your stomach?

Ok so I have been reading the forums for only a short time now and decided to introduce myself.
My name is Natalie and I am 30...almost 31 years (1 week). I have been overweight for at least 20 years.
I was recently married almost 1 year ago and we can't wait for children but haven't been able to get pregnant. I have high blood pressure so far. I do have PCOS which means I am at risk for others such as diabetes. I am absolutely miserable. I can't fit into my scrubs and my clothes I keep growing out of. Most importantly I feel like crap daily, I want to be healthy, I want to be off my medication for HTN, I want to exercise but I feel like crap once I do.
I worked at a hospital in Phoenix on the bariatric floor and I loved it. I could totally sympathized with these patients coming into my care. At that time I had thought maybe I would look into the WLS as an option for me. For some reason I kept thinking "no Natalie this is totally the easy way out, you can lose weight with diet and exercise". I thought that WLS was an easy out of being overweight. Now that I think about it I know my attitude was because I was in denial and frankly I was terrified. I hope I don't upset anyone but I absolutely do not think it is not an easy route whatsoever now.
Fast forward a few years and here I am in Northern CA and I finally got up enough guts to seek out help. Like always I did a ton of research and found a surgeon that had the credentials I was looking for. My insurance didn't require a referral. So last Tuesday I had my first consult with the surgeon and it was a one on one consult lasting 1 1/2 hours and I was totally at ease with the surgery. My last appointment with the surgeon is in September sometime I can only hope and pray that I will be sleeved in October. That would be fantastic. It seriously cannot get here fast enough. I am addicted to VST on here constantly. I am sure my husband thinks I have some online relationship going.
I have been researching things to buy and I have purchased a heating pad for my tummy, baby spoons and forks so I don't eat too much. Baby bullet for pureed and mushy stage. My surgeon wants me to start on Protein shakes to lose roughly 30 lbs before surgery. Tried one this morning and barfaroo. Totally gross for me. I hope I can find some tasty ones.
Well thanks for listening and hope I get to know some of you out there.
Your stories have encouraged, motivated, and absolutely calmed me while some have outright scared me. lol
You can order samples check out this link protein samples which is located in the food and nutrition section. Samples are the better way to go so that you can find something that you could possibly like. Oh and some people find that the Protein Shakes taste a bit better if they are chilled. Try with ice cubes.

The pouch test really is to help you kick start your weightloss and to help get the carb monkey off your back. Once the stomach is stretched I do not think it can shrink (as before surgery).
Have you stopped losing weight? Or has it just slowed down? You will eventually need to increase your calories when you go into maintenence mode to stop the losing process.
Possibly start tracking your food again. Get Protein first. Keep carbs to a minimum and get a minimum of 8 glasses of Water a day. I personally drink 10 -12 glasses a day and it really helps with the keeping me from snacking. I just drink Water instead of a snack.< /p>

Another satisfied Aceves patient right here . My sleeve was $8750 USD and it was worth every penny I spent. I am 5 months post op and living life like I should be by eating healthy and going to start exercising. I am excited to keep on reaching all of my mini goals and finally my end goal. I know I will make it.

Alberta here and had my VSG 5 months ago in Mexicali Mexico. As you can see by my ticker I am doing quite well. If you have any questions ask away there will be someone here that will be able to answer in one way or another.
Congratulations on beginning your journey to a healthier new you!

Thank you all so much for your kind words of welcome! To be honest? I think my husband is having more issues that I am at this point! He is worried beyond belief and I just adore him for it. This week I am going to work on finding the best Protein shake magic. If you all have any suggestions? I wide open to receiving them! I don't have to do the pre-op liquid diet, but would like to do something of the sort, just to prepare my mind and my system. Thank you again for the awesome welcome! I look forward to sharing my journey with you all!
Go to the food and nutrition section in this forum there are three topics pinned at the top one for the best Proteins. One on where to get samples and one on how to make different shakes.
Tell your husband to come onto here and he can ask any question he likes. The more informed a person is the less scary the whole thing becomes.
Congratulations on starting your journey to a healthier new you!! Good for you for quitting smoking!!

Congratulations Texasmelody on starting your journey to a healthier new you! Your best bet for protien is to get sample packs from different places to try and see what you like. There are varying reviews out there on what is the best Protein (by flavour). Some will like a specific kind whereas others think it tastes like monkey butt. Here is a list that Oregondaisy posted in the food and nutrition section rating Protein powders and there are other pinned messages about recipies for Protein shakes and places to get protein samples. Check it all out.
I fainted because of VSG?

I was going to suggest getting your sodium and potassium levels checked. But seems other veterans have beat me to it. I would definitly have a chat with your doc to make sure you are getting in what your body requires.
