It is a great bunch of people on here with a vast wealth of knowledge. Just post your questions and the veteran sleevers should be able to guide you. Hope to hear of your date being booked.

Going to a patio party and fitting in those itsy bitsy plastic seats without my thighs bluging out the sides and the worry that is this chair going to break.
Shopping at a non-plus size store and getting great deals
traveling around the world and feeling comfortable in the airplane seats back in coach

Congratulations on achieving this first step in a succession of steps. You will soon be on the other side of surgery and on the loosers bench. I know more room is being made as all the previous loosers keep on losing the weight and making room.

Today I started my two week pre-op diet. My doc prescribes a no meat, low fat, high Protein low calorie diet so it's egg whites for me! I can't believe surgery is two weeks away. I am a little nervous, but mostly excited. I think my sweet husband is more nervous than I am and it doesn't help that I've been giving him little "just in case" instructions like where our wills are and the key to our safety deposit. (I can't help it......I'm a planner)
I had about 10 days between scheduling my surgery and the start of the pre-op diet. I've got to admit, it's been fun. We've been on a favorite restaurant farewell tour. While enjoying some of my favorites, I shut my eyes and tried to make a memory of the taste and texture. I know these foods aren't gone forever, but I am ending our love affair and asking if we can just be friends.
This is really going to happen.......I think I'm ready.......how did you experienced sleevers feels two weeks out?
Now I have the song " Why can't we be friends?" running through my head. I think its a great song to think of when it comes to food.

I think everyone has a fear of the unknown. Having to wait as long as I have there have been times that I think what am I doing! And then I see the progress of so many and say yes that is why I am going to do this. I have no advice as to how to over come this. I think everyone has to deal with this scary unknown in their own way. Hope this has helped.

I am 22 and I am scheduled for the surgery in February 2011. I have told my family and some of my closest friends but to tell you the truth I'm not ashamed or embarrased for having it I am just thinking of it as me bettering myself for my 2 year old daughter. I want to be able to take her to the park and play with her with out feeling like a big whale, or running out of breath evertime she wants me to chase her. I do understand that some things are personal and you have the right to tell who you want to tell I hope you have a successful and fullfilling journey.
Hey Texas where are you getting your sleeve? I will get in Feb 2011 with Dr. Aceves in Mexico.

You are taking charge of your own health. I say kudo's to you! You might want to sit down with your teens and discuss why they are not being supportive. It could be due to not knowing enough information about the sleeve surgery.
There is alot of support here on the boards. It might be good to find a buddy on here that you can just talk too when you are feeling overwhelmed.

Wow it seems there are several people that have had problems with the band. Too bad you had to wait 3 years to find out that there was a leak in the band. I doubt your doctor who left knew there was a problem but you were ment to meet the new doctor and find a positive out come. Keep us updated on your progress.

You could go to a mall and walk around. Its indoors which is safe and warm and you can see what is in the stores for the season.

5 Weeks post op and no weight loss
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

lil red raider makes a good point. You should check your inches as well as your weight and see where you are losing. You may in fact be building muscle which wieghs more than fat. So you would be losing fat and gaining muscle which you will see a difference in your inches and not your weight. Give it time you will get past this stall in due time.
