  1. Are you allowed scrambled eggs? Slice of lunch meat like ham, turkey, chicken? How about cream cheese or laughing cow cheese (not sure if you get that in the states. chicken or beef broth or the packet from Ramen noodles (DO NOT eat the noodles just the packet). Peanut Butter (1 tbsp) with a scoop of Protein powder (called a sludge) I can not remember who suggested that on here but I sure have remembered that. Are you allowed soft flakey fish fillets? tuna in the can mixed with dill pickle relish.

I am not sure what stage of foods you are at but you can judge as to what you can have now and what you will have to wait to have.

  2. Ok, just to put some perspective into this --

The death rate for giving birth in the U.S. (in 2007) was 8.7 percent.

The morbidity rate associated with tonsillectomy is 2% to 4%

The morbidity rate for a laparoscopic gallbladder surgery is 1.9%

The point is, I could go on and on about the chances of dying in surgery (or from complications) -- but the fact remains that VSG morbidity rates is .5% -- that's TINY compared to giving birth, having your tonsils out or having gallbladder surgery (one of the most common surgeries in the U.S.).

Well I have had 2 of the 3 suggested and I never even had the idea of death cross my mind for either. Kind of puts me at ease for the surgery. Thanks Julia

  3. How about making smaller goals. Instead of thinking you cannot make it another day. How about set the goal of making it to the evening. Then set the next small goal to achieve. Breaking it down will make it seem more manageable.

I am not sure about how you are feeling as I have not made it to my surgery or even pre-op. I can say that just know in your heart that you have made it 4 days what a great accomplishment. Think of how it is only 1 more day and then you will be doing your labs.

You can always come here for help with any issue, even one of just needing an emotional boost.

Keep up the great work and keep us posted on your progress.

  4. People always put down others to make themselves feel better. They have low self esteem and need to bring others down with their negative comments. I would suggest trying to not listen to what others say and truly know that you look beautiful inside and out. I know it is hard to ignore the comments but try to push it aside and not let them rule how you feel. Only you can let them make you feel bad. So keep your head up and push the negative comments out and just remember that you are doing great and will continue until you feel you have achieved the goal that you want.

  5. I think everyone goes through those feelings. I still have to wait till February till I get my surgery, and I constantly am saying "Will I be able to go through with this?" Then I read all the different outcomes and I believe that yes I can and I will.

Nerves are a part of the course and I understand fully what you are going through.

Keep us posted on your surgery.

  6. Oh my gosh! That sounds terrible. I'm so sorry you have been suffering for so long! I am still waiting for my surgery in January, but everything I read here gives me a tremendous amount of hope that the sleeve will make it possible to lose weight and keep it off. If you need to do this to save your sight, then I say go for it!

By the way, people through the ages have lost their stomachs for different reasons and lived full lives.

  7. Are you able to have Peanut Butter yet? I read on here awhile back that someone makes a Protein sludge where you take a spoon of Peanut Butter and mix it with a scoop or half a scoop of your Protein (I cannot remember if whole or half a scoop). It is a small amount to get in that is packed with protein. But I am not sure if you are able to have peanut butter at your stage. If you can this could be a easy option to get in an extra shot of protein not only from the PB but also the protien powder. If not well you can have this idea for when you can have PB and need a protein boost.

  8. Almost sounds like a tolerance issue. That you can have a certain amount before it comes on. And that specific foods will react more than others. I would suggest staying away from the food that gives you the issue right off. If it happens at a specific time I would just avoid having said product at that time. Other than that if you really would like something sweet only have it once in awhile your not giving it up just limiting it.

That is all I can suggest for now. Just track and see what works and what doesnt.
