  1. Happy 32nd Birthday piig!

  2. I totally understand! you and i have the same surgery date, and i too have a ten cc band, after 4 fills i have 6.5cc's and FINALLY feel some restriction. i too was discouraged, and thought i had wasted a lot of money for the same 'ol let down, but that jump from 5.7 to 6.5cc's was just what i needed...you may be close and not even know it, i was. it went from nothing to a lot of difference pretty quickly. keep letting your dr know you're ready. i damn near had a breakdown in the office and sure enough next fill and that wonderful restriction showed up! it will for you too, promise! and then it's game on! now go tell that band "what time it is!"=) best of luck!

    3 1/2 weeks in

i'm glad you posted this, i was banded on the 23rd and have only lost around 7lbs since surgery.....and most of that was an immediate drop the first week. i don't get my first fill until next tuesday. the way i see it, our bodies are just recovering from a surgery and we ourselves are adjusting to different stages of food. my hope is that with a little restriction and some good solid habits we'll start seeing more frequent results! i wish you lots of luck and look forward to seeing your progress!
  4. first i must inform anyone who may take the "handle" name piig as a derogative, it is actually quite the opposite:) we've always used pig in our family as a term of endearment. the two i's in piig makes it pronounced 'peeg'...ok,now that that's out of the way, let's see..about me..i'm thirty and recently made the out of pocket decision i'm hoping will help me end my lifelong struggle with the scale

  5. good for you on getting back to "your old self". i actually have lost some weight! i was put on a 2 week pre-op diet (atkins style) and that took off a majority of the weight i've lost. funny how the diet before was the most productive weight loss i'd had in a while:) i weighed on tuesday (1 week) and i have lost 21lbs total...14 of that was pre-op. i feel like i can see the majority of the weight loss in my chest and face because my belly is still nice and jolly! it was so big the first few days i just looked pregnant. i haven't exactly decided what my goal weight should be since i don't know how i'll feel as i lose the weight, but i initially was hoping to lose 50lbs. if you need any support feel free to give me a shout, seems like we're both on the same track!
  6. YAY! this makes me so happy to hear! today is even better than yesterday! are you able to burp like normal now? mine seems to only stay in my throat still...how are you doing on soft foods? i too am looking for 50lbs to melt away:) cheers to our new journey!
  7. me too! i'm a week today! and i know it's all the extra gas from the surgery, however, i've used malox, gas x, heating pads, walking ect and no relief! i can't burp! it's like it just stops in my throat...so annoying. i just want to be able to burp like normal! the good news seems to be that what we are experiencing is at least somewhat common, and will subside over time. let me know if/when it gets better for you! good luck!
