  1. Happy 46th Birthday bvork!

  2. Wow, it's been a long time since I have been on here. So far I have lost 60 pounds and have not had a fill since November. I have been getting hungry after 2 or 3 hours so it looks like a fill is in order. I did manage to lose 3 pounds in just 3 days the hard way this weekend. Turns out my gall bladder was tired of doing it's job and checked out. Took a trip to the hospital in an ambulance on Saturday night and on Monday was missing my gall bladder. After getting over the pain and now just dealing with the discomfort of this, I am going to use this as a way to jump start the next step in my weight loss journey. I will have to be even more cautious about what I eat and stay with a low fat diet. I have made it this far and I will not stop until I have a different body. Good luck and continued success to the rest of you who were banded in August.
  3. Two words, food processor, I could put about anything in there, and whamo, instant mushy food. I would boil chicken, and put hot sauce in to add liquid. Any kind of veggies. It made mushy a snap.
  4. Banded on 08/25/11. I have dropped 50 pounds so far, 2 pants sizes, and now I've got to buy new unmentionables, they keep falling down.
  5. Well, today was my 3rd fill. I figured it wasn't going to be good news, I've been on vacation the last 8 days so the diet is sorta on hold. Well the moment of truth happened, I got on the scale, BAM, lost 5 more pounds in the last 2 weeks. Down a total of 50 pounds since I started this deal. Less than 3 months to get here. I have already shrunk out of my old clothes, fortunately I saved close as I out grew them so, new wardrobe is good for probably 3 or 4 more months. As for the fill today, they added 1cc to me 5cc that were already in. I did find out what it was like to feel stuck this past week, not fun. Felt like I had an elephant stuck sitting on my chest. Took what seemed like an hour, but was only a minute or two. So, I am a little apprehensive about how this will be for the next month. My secret for everyone, follow the doctor's advice, protein, veggies, then carbs. DON"T snack between meals. I have followed those to a tea and it is paying off. My other eating mantra, if it didn't grow that way, DON'T eat it, whole foods are so much better for you than processed. Also, I have quit all soda, diet and regular. That stuff is just bad news all the way around. Good luck to all you fellow A11s, you can do it!
  6. First fill done this morning. Painless and easy for. I found out I have a 14cc band and today it had 2cc put. She said she wanted to take it easy I was noticing a difference and have had good success so for. Total weight loss now is at 37 pounds, I dropped 10 more in the past couple of weeks. I have dropped 2 pants sizes already, good thing I kept the clothes I grew out of. Happy I have done this so far. Good luck to the rest.
  7. Tomorrow at 9 I go in for the first fill. I am very ready for it. I have been able to eat anything lately and it's been a chore to keep my intake low. Will power was not a strength of mine anyway. At the last visit I was down 27 pounds, we'll see how much this time. I don't have a scale at home so I can't obsess over it.
  8. You are not the only one worried about that. I have been HUNGRY for most of the past 2 weeks since getting back on solid foods. The Dr. told me that I will gain weight back before my first fill in 9 days. My goal is to prove him wrong, I only eat every 3 to 5 hours. No snacking, and I am only eating whole foods. To me that means only eating food as it was grown or killed. No processed foods of any type. So far my clothes feel like they are getting bigger. I do NOT keep a scale in the house, that way I don't obsess every day over my weight. Just eat good foods before you get your fill and you'll be fine.
  9. Had my surgery on the 25th, at my first follow up on the 8th I had lost 27 pounds thanks to the liquid pre and post op diets. I was supposed to do liquids for the first 2 weeks but that did not last. After day 8 I was so hungry all the time that I could not even sleep that night. Started mushys then and when I had my appt I got to start solids 3 days later. I got 3 wows when I was in for my follow up, 2 from the nurse about how much weight I had lost, and the other for how well the incision site has healed. Then I got 1 more from the Dr. about my healing. I was told not to expect to lose any more weight till after my fill. Well, my goal is to lose at least 4 more pounds before I go back on the th of October. I have not had a single soda since my surgery, I have switched to only sugar free drinks, and I now only eat whole foods, nothing processed, and I practice eating for when I get that first fill. Chewing right, eating slow. This will work for me and I am glad to be through the first 2 weeks that sucked. I am positive that if we all put the effort into this we will get the results we want!
  10. It has been 7 days now since the banding was done. For the last 12 hours I have been STARVING. Stomach is making all kind of noise and I'm supposed to be on all liquids for 7 more days. Not going to make it. So, I started a mushy early. Just had a small serving of applesauce. Feeling a little better, but still hungry. That's all I am going to try for now, but I am worried how this next 7 days are going to go, plus I start back at work on Saturday. That us just going make it even harder, I manage a restaurant for a living. Wish me luck.
  11. My name is Brian, I was banded on the 25th. My starting weight was 325. Thanks to the pre-op diet, I have already dropped 20 pounds. I have been fairly miserable the last couple of days, but I figure the suffering now is going to pay off in the long term. I had a new hip put in in April, and I would like for it to last the rest of my life. The only thing I would really like right now is to be able to belch. Best luck to all.
