  1. Hi everyone. I have been having a rough month. My father is in the hospital , slowly dying and it is really hitting me hard. He has congestive heart failure and really bad lungs from smoking and asbestos. He is getting close to the end and I feel so bad cause there is nothing I can do. I talked to him today on the phone ( I am in California, he is in Oregon) and he told me his liver is starting to shut down and was crying, which made me lose it too. I drank a whole bottle of wine last night, I know that doesnt help but at least I was relaxed a bit. I dont want to fall of the wagon since I am doing so good with my weight loss so I am turning to you all for support. Thanks so much!
  2. Best of luck to you. I wanted to go back to work after one week, I felt that good but the doc made me take three weeks.
  3. WTH? That makes no sense whatsoever. I hate insurance companies so much.
  4. Yaaay! Time for the happy dance!!!
  5. I have an appt next week for a color/cut and I decided not to color because I am losing lots of hair right now. Better to be safe than sorry for me!
  6. Yaaay Johnathan, I am excited for you! I know, the time seems to crawl by when you are getting close, mine did too! Congrats on quitting smoking, that is great! Best of luck to you!
  7. Yaay Stae, you are doing great, keep up the good work!
  8. Congrats on your new sleeve! You will be better in no time, just hang in there!
  9. Yaaaay Pamela! Soo excited for you! I was the same, my body sooo didnt match my personality....does now tho! Woo hoo! Best of luck to you, keep us posted on your journey.
  10. Congrats to you! I didnt have the growling so I am not sure if it is normal.
  11. Yaaay! Best of luck to you! Try to not be so nervous....you will do great!
  12. Had both, removed the next am, released at 12...didnt leave till 5...waiting for paperwork! Neither one was a big deal to me. Drain felt a little weird when he took it out but it was so fast...catheter was uncomfortable, not painful, even when removing.
  13. Lots of rest, water and protein.
  14. I would wait or at least do something not so strenuous, maybe the treadmill? You dont want to be back in the hospital!
  15. Yaaay inner me, that is fantastic, keep up the good work! I know, onderland was so huge for me, I almost cried when I got there.
  16. Yes, I am 5 months out too and yes, stalls are common for me now. I am working out too and stalling for 1-2 weeks then lose 3-5 lbs, stalling again and losing again...weird cycle but at least I am still losing.
  17. Sure, everyone has those thoughts, completely natural. I was super nervous too but when I got back to my room after surgery I was kinda laughing to myself " I was so nervous for nothing" Other than feeling a bit sick from the anesthesia, I felt pretty good. You will be fine! Just think of the wonderful future you will have, being healthy and able to do all the things you couldnt before. I feel like a completely new person...and it is awesome! Best of luck to you!
  18. Congrats MsFab, you are doing fantastic! You will be there in no time! I am 5 months out and 32 lbs from goal...woo hoo!
  19. I have no problem telling anyone who will listen what I weighed, how much I have lost or what my goal is. I hope my being open will help others make the decision to help themselves improve their health and well being.
  20. I am so glad to hear you are doing well. I am impressed with your positive attitude, keep that up and you will be that healthy man you want to be in no time. Welcome to the losers bench Patrick!
  21. Is that for just the surgery? Maybe you can go to a closer doc for the follow up visits? Maybe your primary care doc can do them, I dont see why not, it isnt rocket science to weigh someone and ask what they eat etc. I would call the insurance and ask for sure. Best of luck to you!
  22. I have hot dogs quite often, no bun tho. I have kraut too, jalapenos, whatever I like on it. I have no desire for bread at all so its no big deal with no bun for me.
  23. I was told no exercise but walking till my 2 week appt so be careful. Walking on the treadmill should be fine but dont over do it!
  24. Yaaay to you, keep up the fantastic work!! You will be at goal in no time!
  25. Best of luck to all you July sleevers!
