  1. I thank the maker that after one fill and 3cc's that I do not have any digestive problems. I have a cast Iron stomach and my gall bladder was removed years ago. I wish I would have read this post before I got the surgery! I wish someone would have told me that I would stall. I wish someone would have told me the band will make you crazy and all the rah rah cheerleaders are gonna make you sick! lol

    there are online websites for fitness training. I use myonlinetrainer.com You can watch videos. But generally strength training is the way to go! Weights help you burn more calories and develop muscles.

    Waking up THIN!!!

    i've stopped the blood pressure meds for a few days and monitored it and i'm fine so far. I did up the calories Sunday and kinda monday, but I got on the scale today and I'm up 4lbs all together. I get that it maybe Water weight, but how long does this last??? This is not good at all. I've been taking water pills and they havent helped. All my hard work last week just got wiped out and Im getting a 2nd fill today and have to do a weigh in which makes me feel worse! I'm working out this evening. I'm still tired. I use to do 2200 calories a day before the lapband and I still didnt lose weight consistantly. I dont expect miracles, just some sort of consistant weight loss and not tricking my body or starving it either. I struggle to eat a lot cause of my lapband I get full easily so i dont know how to get more calories in.
  4. I havent really even dropped that many sizes. I'm still a 18, just a little looser thats all. No one has noticed or said anything except my husband so yeah I'm discouraged.

    So everyone is telling me the reason I'm not losing weight is cause my calories are too low. So yesterday I upp my calories. I cheated a little by eating some sugar free birthday cake with my niece. I also ate a huge salad. So that was my cheat day. I'm terrrfied to log in my calories. Well I check the scale this morning and guess what?? up 3lbs!! yeah me. So never again. I'll stick to my 800 calories a day. Now I have to practice damage control. Which means liquid fast for a day or two. yeah lanpband.......NOT!

    No not mad about what you wrote. I'm just half crazy, half starved and exhausted from spending most my time at the gym or walking. I need sleep. I need rest, but my body and mind won't let me!!! Tomorrow I get another fill. Hopefully it will make me lose again. I'm just so angry!!

  9. The war has restarted. It's me Vs. my body. I'm back to hating it again and frankly I've never been this cranky ever in my life. I've never been this crazy either. I'm almost certifiable cray-cray. Lock me up. can the band cause insanity? I think so. I cant stop with the scale. i had a cheat day and gained 3 friggin pounds. This WAR. The truce is over. It aint gonna be pretty!

    HELLO! How is everyone doing?? where are my early sept bandsters at?? Seems like they all disappeared! My food day is: Breakfast: Protein shake. (i dont have time to make food in the mornin) Lunch: chilli or a cup of tuna with 5 crackers or a salad with low calorie dressing Dinner: Right now I'm eating spaghetti squash with meatballs and marinara sauce. Some days I scramble eggs with onion and little cheese. usually 3 eggs. Or tuna on a low carb tortilla if I didnt do crackers and tuna for lunch. snack: SF jello or SF pudding. 1 or 2 cups. Thats it. I get my 2nd fill tomorrow. I'm not hungry though.

    I need help

    will OP you act as if you just fell off the wagon. You had a lot of life changes and stress. The knee surgery sucks. I had one too a few years ago and gained a lot of weight. Dont beat yourself up so much. Which is kinda crazy me saying that! I'm my worse critic. But good job at day 1.

    Total failure - no weight loss

    I love pizza too. U know u can take the foods you love and make them better for you!! For pizza, I take a low carb tortilla put pasta sauce and mozzarella on it and the pepperoni. You can either pop in the oven or put in a frying pan with butter to get it nice and crispy! Lower calories and carbs and it taste like a thin crust pizza!! I can help with the food. I've perfected the art of turning almost anything into a healthy alternative. Just drop me a message.

    Well I've tried more calories but I'm up 3lbs. I do drink shakes but not between meals, but as my breakfast and lunch. Has anyone tried optifast??
  14. Carisa welcome to the wonderful world of disgruntled bandster land! I'm with you! I was banded 09/02 and the only time I've dropped pounds was after my fill 2 weeks ago. I dropped 4lbs and no one knows y. I didn't eat much after my fill so maybe that's it but I can't continue on liquids forever. It's driving me mad. Before I had my baby I lost 60 lbs in about 8 months just by low carb and working out. Now nothing. So I dunno what to tell us.
  15. I can honestly say that I do eat right and I have always been a slow loser. I dont have any major health issues. I did have high blood pressure before being banded, but I'm probably gonna be taken off my meds. My meals are on my fitness pal. I'm Jedi9393. Now granted I've been banded a month and a half, but I've already had my first fill. My second fill is tomorrow. I've lost weight before and I dont have food issues. No emotional eating or what not. I;ve been low carb for 5 years. So I thought this would help my issues with plateauing. Nope. I went to a dr. 3 years ago and they couldnt find any reason why I am such a slow loser. This time i've been told to eat more calories? Which is shocking since I've been banded so I wont eat so much! I work out 5-6 days a week. I lift weights, cardio, do body shaping and everything. I've lost weight and inches, but mostly after I got banded. Now back to square one. And why in Gods name should the band make it harder for anyone to lose weight. Good lord if I would hve known that I would have said no! lol. For the OP I thought the same as you, omg exactly! If I do everything right the weight will fall off. Thats what everyone told me on here and my surgeon tells me 1-2lbs a week. My appt with him is in another 2 weeks and he said that I might have to go for testing, but I know they wont find anything. its just me, genetic I assume. How can you eat less than 1000 calories a day and work out and burn 300 calories and still not lose?? I dunno. No one has given me an answer. I dont even think gastric bypass would work for be either. So yea, I'm a disgruntled Bandster so far. The truth is, most band cheer leaders dont wanna believe the band doesnt work for some people. They want to blame you or come up for some reason why its not working for you. There are a gaggle of frustrated and angry bandsters who are scared to post cause they dont wanna be slammed and criticised. I'm a big girl and will speak for them cause I aint afraid!

  17. Pats fan, yes my dr says under 1000 calories. No more than 1200. With the band not hungry at all. I think the band can work miracles for those that overeat or have poor eating habits. The band has helped me eat way less, but as for the weight loss it's the same plateaus and stalling I had when I was eating low carb at 2000 calories a day. My surgeon says healing period is 2 weeks. I get my 2nd fill on the 11th. It was the pre and post op diet that made me lose the weight I have, plus Water weight. So of u feel thay eating is not your issue then I recommend rethinking your reasons for getting the band and proceed with caution. I'd rather be able to eat low carb, 2000 calories, work out 4 days a week and lose 1 pound every 2 weeks them have the lapband, eat 800 calories, watch my portions, Protein etc,work out hard 6 days a week then stall for 2 weeks. I wish someone had told me this and talked me outta it.

    U know oldie my bp is really low lately. I take hbp pills but when I got my fill it was like 102/59. Maybe I need to have my meds taken down a bit. I'll try to eat more but I'd have to admit I'm a bit paranoid. Maybe I'll go to 800-900 calories instead and see how I do. Today was the last straw. I almost passed out while holding my son. I got dizzy, lightheaded and almost fell!!! So I'll try anything to get this to work for me, without me dying! Lol.

    Thank you jersey. However when I say I'm not hungry I'm not. I didn't eat a lot before the band but now I eat about 4 oz and half a cup of veggies. Some days I do a shake for breakfast and one for lunch then 4 crackers and 5 forkfuls of tuna. Maybe some sf jello as a snack, but that's it.

    I'm jedi9393 on mfp. U can see what I eat. I do low carb and low calorie. I too eat around 800 cal but I was told by my surgeon to do low calorie and low carb. I eat 60 g of protein. I'm rarely hungry. I'm pretty much forcing myself to eat to prevent me from passing out.

    Well I feel restriction. I don't eat a lot. I'm not hungry at all. I know I am a slow loser but I didn't know that would prevail once I got the band!!! If someone would have told me that I would have still lose 2 pounds every month then shoot I would have never, never been banded. I thought the low calories and low carb diet with working out more would increase my weight loss. I feel frustrated, cheated, lied to, and hopeless. Also I've been working my butt off for 4 months now. So I'm talking about total weight loss. So here I am, I've gain 2 lbs. Just frigging horrible. I'm so tired I can't even make it thru my day.

    Well, well, well....I have to reply to this cause oh yeah I'm on of the complainers. I dieted and excersized before the band. I wasnt an emotional eater or overeater. I researched and the positive people on this site and others have tended to sugar coat things about the band cause maybe it worked for them well, but anytime someone tries to offer a different opinion or perspective then the "band is a tool" robots come out here and post and call us whiners I say tell the truth. the band wont and does not work for everyone. It may or may not speed up your weight loss or help you maintain it. I'm a little over a month and no I didnt expect a miracle or weight loss overnight, but I DO expect the band to do...SOMETHING! If I wanted to eat 700 calories a day and work out 4-5 days a week and not lose a thing then I could have done that without the band. I'm advocating some real talk around hear. Not all the everything is roses. So yea, I'm cranky. There is serious inconsistancies between surgeons regarding diets and the so called "healing period" which my doctor is telling me is basically BS. It is frustrating. I've lost about 12-15lbs post surgery. Thats not counting the pre-op diet and stuff. Most of the weight you lose in the beginning is Water weight. My dr is low carb, under 1000 cal kinda guy. I've had my first fill. Lost a few pounds then now I've gained. No change in my diet. I have to carb refeed. Look it up. It's not nice. I did that before I got the band. I didnt want to do it after, but well well well here I am again. Oh yeah i'm mad. 1-2 lbs a week is what i've been told by everyone and now I've been told i'm in starvation mode. Before I asked about this and heard that it didnt exist for band patients. Well, now I dont know what to believe. Force myself to eat more and get PB's and vomit or keep on? So since everyone is tired of some of us whining then help! Answer our questions. If you have the solution then let me know. I've posted many topics and get nada. So if you are not part of the solution then I say you are part of the problem. I know we have to be patient, but for how long? why is it when I carb refeed I lose weight? How long do I have to do this? How many calories are too low? See what I mean? Why do I go on liquids and lose weight after a fill then back to nothing? We need answers not just criticisims. And be happy cause I lost weight? yeah I am, but i'm still fat! I got a long way to go. I can be patient, but I need just anything to show this is working. Not stalling for weeks! Not feeling like i'm tired and weak every other day. Not being made to feel like crap by people on here who want to get in a tiff cause of what I'm going thru doesnt fit in their mold of how a bandster should act. We all cant be positive, why should we?
  23. once again my body has decided to gain 2lbs. dont know y. I did just get off my menses, but that was 2 days ago and i was fine and now i gained 2 frigging lbs. I'm sick of this seriously.

  24. hey pats fan! you and me were in the same boat. I thought that lapband would make it easier for me to lose weight. I have yet to experience that. Sometimes I do feel as if this has been a waste. I havent had any complications or vomiting. I feel fine. I've been banded for a month now and do feel a bit disappointed. I did have my first fill already and still struggling. Please choose carefully and think if you can lose without the band then do it. I am a disgruntled bandster for sure. I too was told that I was the perfect candidate, but I am a slow slow loser and despite me working out 4-5 days a week and eating healthy and under 1000 calories I still havent lost the magice 1-2lbs a week. I'm going for my 2nd fill in a week or so. Once again not hungry, just being told that a fill is a good thing. Ask your surgeon what is his pre-op dietary requirements after you can eat solids. I suggest if you are doing the same diet then think twice about the lapband. But yeah Gastric Bypass hasnt even once crossed my mind, No way!

    breakfast ideas

    well it depends on what you are looking for? You can make egg muffins. Just need some egg and whatever else you like and mix and put in muffin cups then bake. You can eat pancakes. There is low carb flour made by atkins and Tova. I buy all my low carb goodies on netrition.com. Its not cheap, but a bag of LC flour last me forever. I edulge every once in a while. Low carb tortillas are sold at grocery stores. make a burrito or something.
