  1. I'm with DebiC - I don't care if some people can still handle soda after VSG or not, I've already resigned myself to the fact that I will never have it again and at this point I couldn't care less about it.
  2. What a simple but great idea! Can't wait 'til I get to the pureed stage, definitely gonna do this one!
  3. Welcome KDB and SunshineMom2! I've only been on VST a few months myself but I'd love to help in any way that I can - I just had my surgery on Tues (12/27) and so far so good! I'm having no problems at all and feel really good! Good luck to you both
  4. I had Dr Baker at Unity, too! Small world - we were probably in rooms right next to each other
  5. Hi Clasica - my surgery date was 12/27 so I know exactly what you mean - Wed & Thurs I was using the timer thing but now today I just kind of did a little at a time without the timer and so far it's been fine. There would have been no way I could get all my liquids in doing just one ounce every 15 mins. I'm actually excited that I get to add Protein shakes tomorrow, I'm already getting sick of the SF Jello and popsicles! P.S. I'm from the Mpls area as well! Where did you have your surgery?
  6. Thanks everyone - I guess I'm not going to worry about it too much since it will surely drop off soon (I hope?!)
  7. Hello everyone - I was just sleeved on 12/27 so I'm only two days out, but I'm still up 6 lbs from my surgery date weight. I know it's from all the fluids and gas they pump you with in the hospital but I thought I would have dropped those excess pounds by now? How long does it normally take? Thanks
  8. I'm sleeved and home - wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be so I'm happy for that
  9. Nancy - we have the same surgery date! Good luck to you and let us know how it goes - mine is at 10:15 so you'll be all done when I'm just get started
  10. My surgery is tomorrow, too! Yes, I'm still nervous but it's more of a calm nervousness at this point. For me, I think I'll just be sooooo relieved when it's over that I'll be able to handle whatever comes after that. I hope it goes that way for you, as well. Good luck!
  11. Right now (pre-op) I really like the Premier chocolate shakes from costco (pre-made with 30g protein) but I've heard from a lot of people that things you liked before surgery you won't like after, so we'll see Do you have any of the unflavored Protein powder from unjury? I've heard people mix that in with their Water or other liquids to get protein if they can't tolerate the shakes. Good luck - hope you find something that can keep down!
  12. Awesome! Sounds like you're doing well - congrats!
  13. Good luck tomorrow, LoserMama! I'll be exactly one week behind you!
  14. So happy for you! I'm exactly one week behind you!
  15. That's very interesting about the Vitamin E - is it known to help with loose skin issues? Is there a reason you took it at night? I think I'm going to start doing that!
  16. Congrats to you! I'd love to be able to welcome you to the Loser's Bench but I haven't had my surgery yet! Happy Healing
  17. I'm so excited for you - and make sure to get a post-op video on YouTube once you're feeling up to it Can't wait to hear all about it!
  18. I love the idea as well - but I probably won't be able to participate until this time NEXT year since I haven't even had my surgery yet! LOL! But I'll be anxious to see how it works for you - good luck!
  19. Amazing! You've graduated AND lost almost 100 lbs - you are starting 2012 in a big way!
  20. Congrats on making the best decision of your life! You are at the point where I was in early Sept when I went to an informational session, I knew I absolutely did not want to go with the gastric bypass and was looking into the lap band thinking that was my only other option... until they started talking about the vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I had never even heard of it, so I started doing tons of research about it online and on YouTube watching videos of other people who have had the surgery, and that was it - I knew it was the one for me! So now I'm just waiting for my surgery on 12/27 Good luck to you!
  21. Yay! You and I have the same surgery date - there are quite a few of us December Sleevers!
  22. Sounds like heaven to me - hopefully there will many more days like that to come
  23. Yes, that is correct
