  1. Ok now I'm totally freakin out.... I thought it would normal to get unfilled... But i guess i would need to there's no way i could drink that gross stuff and keep it down without throwing up and prob causing more issues... Aahhhhhhhh

I literally just got back from my doctors office and had a complete unfill. I have to call to make an UGI appt. I was having a lot of mucus that was not allowing me to eat properly. I hear a lot of stories here and there, and I just have had to put faith in my doctor because everything he's said and done so far has been good. As much as I love getting feedback from others I have to just breathe and go with my surgeon's decision, especially when he hasnt given me any indications to question him.

    Good luck!

  2. Feb 2013 banisters your posts are very confusing to those of us who have been communicating for over a year. I have checked and there is a 2103 Feb Bandsters. It maybe beneficial for you to communicate with those who at the same place in your lapband experience. We wish you the beat of luck in your journey.

Feb 2012 Bandsters has anyone considered reconstructive surgery? Tummy Tuck or breast lift ?

I'm 63lbs down, hit my 1 year bandaversary last thursday!. I actually get asked if I'm going to get reconstruction surgery and it sorta makes me feel bad cause I didnt think I needed to but now that they point it out to me I'm thinking about researching it, but probably wont really consider it until I've at least gotten close to my goal and thats still far away.

  3. Today marks 4 months post op and I am 46lbs DOWN! I am at 300 exactly...soon I will be in the 200's, somewhere I havnt been in almost 10 years. To know that I will never be in the 300's again was so emotional for me this morning I just broke down crying. I seen it numerous time on the forums but its true.....the only thing I would of changed with this surgery is to of done it sooner!

  4. I need some advice from my fellow Feb bandsters. I am stuck at the same weight now for 3 weeks and can't seem to break this plateau. I am walking 2 to 3 miles a day and doing weights. My calories stay between 900 and 1100 per day and I am drinking about 100 ozs of Water a day. Anyone out there have any solutions I might be able to try. HELP!!!!

I hear you! I had the same thing happen but today I weighed in and have lost 4lbs. I was losing 0 for over 3 weeks so its such a great feeling to know THAT, cause I'm sure there will be more, is over with. Hang in there, reading a lot of the same stories as yours so the positive thing to get from that is we are doing all the right things because we are, for the most part, all having the same reactions.

  5. Banded February 15, so today marks my 3 month follow up with 40lbs lost so far. Feeling ecstatic!! Every day isnt grand, but the days that are makes up for the ones that arnt. It's still such a learning experience, but I'm loving it. After hearing a couple people on the forums talk about C25K I'm proud to say I'm on Day 2, Week 1. After the first day I wanted to scream!!! I couldnt believe I successfully completed the first day, I thought for sure I wouldnt be able to run 1 min, and really thought doing it 8 different times was out of the question. Being banded was the best thing I could of done for myself!!

    Best wishes Bandsters!

  6. Each Doctor is different, I could eat till about 2 hrs before fill and then liquids the rest of the day. I had this done yesterday and am on regular food, doing good. Definitely feel the restriction just like right after surgery.

So excited and a bit nervous for my first fill tomorrow. What are the "rules" prior to the fill? Is it no food or drink two hours prior?

    What can I expect?

  7. I had my first fill yesterday. For dinner (which was about 2 hrs after fill) I drank my Protein drink and could only finish half of it. This morning I had 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and after the second bite could really feel the restriction. I never could finish a meal in the 20 min I should....until today.

Do most of you feel the effect of a fill as soon as you leave the doctors office or does it take a few days to change?

    Thanks

  8. You will here this over and over so I'm sorry to repeat it...WALK...i had a couple bad episodes and I just walked...walk your ass off. It will go away, for me it was day 7 that I finally was more comfortable.

I got banded on 3-23-12 (two days ago) and I'm having a really hard time burping and I'm walking and using the gas ex strips! Anyone know any other tricks??

  9. I had that feeling but only the first week it was like an alien in there just moving around. Everytime I would move from side to side, mainly when trying to sleep. I've never been pregnant but I would say that might be what it feels like lol. Good luck to you

Can anyone else feel things moving inside? When I bend forward I can feel something moving around, tubing maybe?? Will it go away? I am nearly 3 weeks banded.

  10. Hi there February bandsters!

I am 3 weeks post op now. My first follow up appointment is today at 1pm. My incisions look really nice and I can see that the small ones will most likely be unnoticeable eventually. I can however see and feel my port when I stand, kinda weird, but a little inconvenience for what I have gone through and strive to get to is no problem. I am buying a bike this weekend so I can start riding with my husband. Can not wait for the doc appointment so I can be at ease with how things are. I do have an appetite, almost mimics what it was like pre banded. I still follow the rules but I can definitely feel those hunger pains. I think I'll get my first adjustment on the 27th but really wish it was sooner. I can now sleep with ease, even on my tummy :)

  11. Had a horrible night sleeping so we are getting me a recliner because the bed and sofa won't work. I'm having the worst pain in my left shoulder but I'm guessing this is normal. Right now I'm hanging out at my mothers since she has a nice comfy Recliner couch. Other then that I really feel good.

Had the same problem and slept on my recliner for about 3 nights straight. It all "moves" around and was uncomfortable. Your body will let you move around more and more. I found myself on my stomach two nights ago FINALLY cause im a tummy sleeper. Hand in there!

  12. Well I'm officially.banded.....woohoo! I have some discomfort I'm guessing from the gas. I did my first walk in the halls it was good and weird but hey it made me burp which felt wonderful. The end tell me Dr Dietrick does not play with his patients and expects we.get the best care.... So far no complaints. I can go to bathroom with little help, I've drank 4 medicine cups of Water and kept if down.

    Tammy.how are u? Where are u?sassey how r u feeling?

Congrats!! Yes, every chance I got I walked and everytime the nurses would say "Dr. Dietrick's gonna be happy with you" lol. I had a wonderful experience there so hoping you do too!

  13. Hi guys !!

I am 3 days post op. I have not eatin a single thing since the morning of my surgery (except regular Water, v8 vege juice & some prune juice to keep things regular) & I have not felt the slightest bit of hunger..... I had a table spoon of Optifast Soup & it filled me up.... Is this normal ??

    Sent from my iPhone

I had the same thing happen to me...I drank MAYBE 8 oz in a day for 2 days straight. I got worried so I forced myself to drink more but it goes away and you get an apetite again. My first mushie was cream of wheat and I tell you it was heaven. Good luck!

  14. I too am 3 weeks post op today...the first probably 1 1/2 weeks I felt full fast. Now I can definitely eat more then a cup if I tried. Last night I had a stuck episode and was so pissed at myself because it was my fault. I got cocky and didnt chew like I needed to. Got my head back in the game today and will never trail off the road again. My port sticks out a little...definitely can feel it, skin is itchy today and port site is sore. Being over 300lbs i never thought I'd see my port, especially at this time...maybe just still swollen. First fill is next Tuesday looking forward to exercising more soon just so I can feel better about my journey.

    Good luck!

  15. I started driving last week (so 2 weeks post op). I was told not till after I'm done taking my pain meds and when i feel comfortable. I didnt use the meds but the first three days home. The only pain I had was gas pains...and they went away totally after day 6. Day 7 was fabulous...I woke up 1000% better. sleeping had been very uncomfortable. I'm a tummy sleeper and have yet to be able to go back to my normal routine but its getting easier every night.

When did you go back to driving ? When did the pain go away?

  16. Also, tomorrow makes 3 weeks post op, and i've noticed the last couple days a knot if you will above my largest incision. I told a couple colleagues and they worried me saying it was a hernia. Called the surgeons office and they were quick to ease my mind. It is just the port, a lot of the times it gets close to the surface because of swelling, even at 3 weeks im still healing. I also get bruises on my stomach in random areas....just a lot of weirdness but lucky its all normal.

  17. Stace2882 Dont feel alone. I was banded on Feb. 15 at noon and didnt get to my room till almost 7pm. I take awhile to get out of anthestia. When I seen so many people prior to surgery saying how its only gas pain and even that isnt bad I had hope. But like you I wasnt so lucky. I had to stay the night while I see others were in and out from surgery in like 6hrs. Everyone is different and thats just fine. I was pretty sore when I got home and the worst of it was gas. I know they say walk, but it was so bad I didnt want to...but I forced myself and you burp and fart away, get it out of there. Not gonna lie but day 7 was my best day until then I just felt beat up really. It gets better! Started preop diet on Feb. 3 at 342lbs and am now 319lb as of this morning. Hang in there!!!

I just got home had surgery yesterday morning. I ended up having to stay the night since I was in extreme pain. I was surprised since everyone's always posting how easy and painless it went. Why was I so unfortunate?? I did everything right with my pre op diet :,( and I'm usually pretty pain tolerate. All they gave me was 5 cc of liquid Percocet my surgeon never came and checked on me i was so scared and alone until they finally let my mom in and see me FOUR hours later. The scars don't hurt it's more inside of my stomach that hurts. Im a million times better today thnk god and im relieved this is finally over with. I know everybody's different and I don't mean to scare anyone that hasn't gone in yet, but I suggest arranging plans for Meds incase you stay the night cus since my doctor left they couldn't give me anything that worked. Sorry for the rant but I had to get it out, because today is the first day of my new life and I believe the hardest part is over. Thnx for listening guys xoxo
