    February Bandsters?

I dont start eating "mushies" till wednesday (surgery was on the 15th) but I can agree with you that getting all my protein in is a challenge. I dont have an apetite at ALL. I'm taking a gummy vitamin as the chewable was giving me a gag reflex and really didnt feel like vomiting at this stage, or ever. Worst part the first two days was gas, now its like you with the sleeping. I can never get comfortable. I feel like a pressure on my chest or maybe the band pressing inside, idk, but i hope that goes away and soon. Good luck!

    February Bandsters?

Well, I was banded yesterday at about noon. Took an hour for the surgery and 3 hours in recovery, didnt get discharged till this morning at 9am. To those who get in and out in just a few hours after surgery, kudos cause I got no idea how you did it. Like you see all the time, as did I, the gas is the worst of it all. I've been walking a lot to get it to come out and boy is it a pain in the ass. Good luck to everyone!!

    How Fast Will I Lose?

As you know everyone loses differently so I can only tell you my experience so far. Today is my 8th day on the pre-op diet with 4 more to go before my surgery on the 15th. To date (starting Feb. 3) I have lost 12lbs. I'm not going to lie it has been tough. I have 6 people in my house I cook for and having to do that while I sip my Protein shake is without hesitation a struggle. HOWEVER, I have fought through it, and with great support form friends and family and daily readings from this forum I'm still in it! I write a journal online through google and it helps. Writing what im eating, what I'm feeling is not only helpful for me now but in the future. Below you'll see a link if you feel like reading a bunch of rants lol GOOD LUCK!!!!
  8. After this weekend i'll have 2 days before the big day....omg lol

    Last Supper

I am on a liquid diet, however, I can have 4oz of meat and 1/2 cup of veggies. I usually eat backed chicken and carrots. Seeing that your only going to do it once and its something that is a protein and veggie I wouldn't think that would harm you. If you had stated you wanted Burger King then my response of course would be different. Good luck!

    Emotional Mess

I 100% can relate. I literally minutes ago told my husband my emotions are everywhere. I'm on day 3 and have a headache and slight nausea the whole time. I cant believe food had that big of hold on me...now its just pissed and doing what it can to make me shove food in. We can do this!!! We have to push through it, we are in it till the end. Good luck!

    February Bandsters?

Started my pre-op diet today....12 more days till Band Day! So today is going ok but because I know i cant eat I'm having some hunger pains now. And to top it off some person in my office thought it'd be neat to have french fries for lunch UGH lol, oh well need to get used to that and get over it. Haven't heard from my insurance yet, turned it in on Monday...hope they answer soon because then I can feel at ease. Good luck February bandsters!!!!
  14. I started the pre op diet today...I never really ate breakfast or lunch so I'm good so far. Had my protein shake this morning (it was YUM) and sipping on Propel water. Now when I get home it will be a different story cause that's when I went to TOWN eating. I bought chicken breast and carrots. I'm allowed one protein that is 4oz and 1/2 cup of veggies. I'm doing this....pain or no pain damn it!

    February Bandsters?

Hi all, I start my pre-op diet Wednesday and the dietitian recommended some protein drinks/powder but they are so very pricey was wondering what others were going to be using. The couple she gave me to try was (Muscle Milk, Iso Pure, Pure Protein, and Myoplex (Myoplex is the one I may choose depending on others recommendations). I was thinking of making them myself using 100% whey. Out of everything, because I'm an organization junky, this is the only thing that is making me go crazy cause I dont have it planned out yet. Thanks in advance!
  18. I'm getting really really nervous...tomorrow i my pre-op appointment. 17 days till surgery!

  19. I was offered hershey kisses and cookies today....I politely declined and secretly patted myself on the back as I sat there eating my strawberries and pears :)

    6 Month Pcp-Done

January 26th was my last PCP visit for the required 6 months insurance requirement. Thank goodness! Now to get the ball truly rolling. I have to admit it all has been pretty smooth so far, paperwork/detail wise. However, as soon as I think Im in the clear and on my way my PCP office wants to be difficult. A little vent if I may. I am not sure why they do not understand what surgery means. I need the paperwork faxed to my surgeons office so it can be sent to the insurance company. They sorta have to approve it BEFORE my surgery date which was already set. Now, if it was sent on time and something happen with the insurance company fine we will have to reschedule. But you are telling me it will take you 2 weeks to fax some paperwork?!? I love love love Wendy from my surgeons office she has been unbelievably wonderful through this whole process. I can call her for what I think is the stupidest thing but she assures me it isnt and answers the questions with ease. We are both motivated to bug the hell out of my PCP office so they will fax my paperwork at a more appropriate time frame. I in no way mean to bash doctor office staff as I have been a filer, paperwork handler, appointment maker for the last 10 years and know how it works. However, there is no way I would put off a fax, knowing the importance, for that amount of time. Anywho.....Onward we go. February 15th is the surgery date, hopefully it stays that way, and I am so very excited. My pre op diet starts next Wednesday so this weekend I am going to go and get all the liquid based "food " I will need for the next couple of weeks.
