  1. Did you call there billing department or your surgeons office? I had the same thing happen and I called my surgeons office right away. Since they chose the assistant, she was willing to just accept what the insurane was willing to pay.
  2. I had the same thoughts but dumb me didn't think about it until we were in church that evening right before taking Communion. I was fine, but if your really worried about it give your Pastor a call and explain the situation.
  3. I'm so glad I'm not the only one. Fork and bathrom getting the same respones from my husband and son. I almost dread going out to eat anymore because of it.
  4. You can friend request me on facebook or send me an email. I work in in Baltimore so your on my way home. So really that would work out great. Used to be easy to say if you would like to meet up for something to eat <haha>, but how about meeting up for some coffee one afternoon if youb like. Facebook is kellypboyer Email is kellypboyer@yahoo.com
  5. I lost weight for myself and me only. My husband told me he loved for me and it didn't matter what size I was. I am fortunate and I know it. I feel if someone didn't give you the time of day when you are heavy, why would you be willing to give them the time of day when your thin. My friends and family love me for me no matter what my size. I work with 99.9% of men in my line of work and my close co workers all know about the surgery and I joke with them all the time and tell them the first one of you that try and flirt with me when I reach my goal weight, I'm gonna drop kick them in the head. Point being...if someone didn't want to give you the time of day when you were heavy, why would you give them the time of day when you loose weight.
  6. Been there also, my third fill went that way and I had to go have some taken out. Just went back again this past Monday and now I'm up to 4cc's in my band of 10. When I was filled to much it was only at 4.2 cc's. I got reflux so bad and I even mentioned to the doctor how scared I was to get another fill, but I also knew I needed one. I even said to him I don't understand how some days I can eat more than other days. Just like the weight loss were all different he said. Don't get too discouraged if you have to go for that unfill, it beats the heck out of being miserable. Although I must admit, when I was too tight, I could see at that time how someone could actually loose 20 or 30 lbs in a month, because I couldn't eat anything. Truth be known, I'd rather loose 5 lbs a month and be happy I'm loosing and not gaining then be miserable.
  7. I understand. I was at 4.3 and got reflux so bad. The doctor took me down to 3.8 and now I'm back up to 4 as of yesterday. I asked the doctor yesterday why do some people seem to have 8 in a 10 and I'm miserable at 4.3. His answer just like everyone elses is were all different. Same as weight loss...some loose faster than others. I'm 8 months out and I'm down 53 lbs. Of course we all want to loose things overnight, but I'll take anything I loose.
  8. I'm back and on my way to the doctors this morning. I am curious to know your location also. Thinking maybe since the weather is starting to be nice walking might be a good thing if your interested. Kelly
  9. I'm near jefferson and I too am home around 315...headed out of town for a few days. Be back by next Friday. Would love to meet up.
  10. Karma...would love to meet up sometime..I am on my way out of town and will be back next Wednesday....I live near jefferson. Work in baltimore so I leave earley and I am also usually home by 3. Let me know what might sound good to you.
  11. I look bag now and say to myself...I must have been a real piggie!
  12. Went tob doctor...he told me to take the Pervicid two times a day and took out what he put in last week. Ahhh...don't feel that brick in my stomach anymore. Nurse said it might have been the chicken I ate the other night. It had skin on it.

  14. When I talked about having surgery with my husband, he said the best thing to me. I love you no matter what size your are. Glad he loved me because I was really startng to hate myself for being so big. Currently I am 50 lbs lighter than I was when I started the entire process and finally below the weight I was when I first met him. I'll be glad to be smaller than him someday, but I still have 35 lbs till I get there, but I have faith that it will all come off. I'm a slow looser, but I'm happy if I loose even 3 lbs a month, only because it's better than gaining 3 lbs.
  15. Yes, but just a little. But maybe thats a good thing. I thought that maybe it was just a stomach virus or something.
  16. Wow, I'm currently having the same issue. I just had 0.4 cc's put in my band currently taking me up to 3.5. (This was my 4th fill) . My fill was done on Friday, March 2nd and I was good all weekend and up until yesterday (Wednesday). All day long my stomach gurgled and the reflux began, it was so bad last night I was sick. This morning the gurgling is back, but the acid reflux seems to be gone. Hope it stops soon. If not, I suppose I will have to give the doctor a call later today to find out what might be going on.
  17. I have to admit....I had my visit to Shady Maple a month before surgery. LOL
  18. I was banded 9/1/11 and I feel the same way you all do. I'm down a little of 40 since surgery and don't get me wrong, I am happy about that. But right now I have been stuck at 215 for the past two weeks. It gets discouraging sometime.
  19. What I've learned....fix your plate to the portions. Eat until you feel full. Once your full stop. Put it away. If your hungry later...finish eating it then. Its no more than what your supposed to eat anyways. You'll find out lot of times you might not even eat it later.
  20. I too lay down to have my fills and then my doctor has me sit up with the needle still in. The reason is that once it's inserted and I sit up he then has me sit up and drink a 6 ounce glass of water. He leaves the needle in so that if he filled me too tight or not enough, he can then just take out or place more.
  21. 10 lbs in a month is great, plus you haven't had any fiil. You're worrying like most of us have. I had my surgery on September 1st and just had my first fill October 3rd. My goal is to loose 10 lbs a months and when I went to the doctors, I had reached my goal. Although I was so disappointed in myself because the week before my first fill, oh my, not only was I recovered from having surgery (which makes you hungry) I also had that PMS hunger . It wasn't good, I won't lie. The night before my appointment I even had nightmares my doctor was yelling at me. Well to my suprises, my doctor was so kind, he looked at me and said why are you beating yourself and much have you gained? He opened my chart and said you lost 10 lbs since surgery and you had no fill , your doing great. I have the best doctor, I won't lie, he's very motivating. We sometimes need to remember, we didn't put this weight on overnight and we surely aren't going to take it off overnight. I even wish that I everyday, but for me I know its more realistic for me to set smaller goals. 10lbs a month, I think I can do it, and I have to have faith in myself that I will do it. I still have 90 lbs to go and hopefully by next summer, I will be able to put a swim suite on for the first time and not feel like a beached whale. I see people some people loose quickly on this site and everyone is different. I even read alot of people having issues with the band on here and I try not to focus on negatives. It will happen, have faith and good luck in your journey.
  22. Truth be knows, everyones body is different when it comes to the recovery time. I had the lapband installed with also a hiatal hernia repair. Usually I recover quickly from surgeries, but I wasn't feeling right until day 6. I did mine on a holiday weekend and hoarded my vacation this year and had 12 days off which included weekend. From what I've read on here, I"ve seen people go back to work in 3 days. As far as sitting or standing, really I felt better when I was standing then sitting but again everyone is different. As for lifting, my doctor did not want me lifting over 5 lbs. So just ask him for a light duty slip. Plus if the guys a work can't do some lifting for you for a few weeks, I'd have to say thats pretty ignorant. I work with all men myself and they were extremely helpful if I needed something done. Good luck to you both in your journey.
  23. Ok peeps, I quess I must be going through this bandster hell, I've been starving and I even stooped to eatiing some things I have no business. I'm 4 weeks out and my first fill is scheduled for next Monday. Am I the only person that has broke down during this period and ate something that I had no business. I'm not looking for approval, because I am beating myself terrible over this. Sad thing is I am up 18 hours a day, I do well at work, but it's when I get home. I have no support group and I am starting to get depressed. Any help or comments would be appreciated.
