  1. Hello,

For the past 2 days i have been experiencing dizziness and lightheadedness. When i woke up this morning i almost fainted... Before i freak out and go pay $200 for a doctors visit i thought it might be wise to see if it could be related to my sleeve,

Im 6 months out and have been loosing steadily for the most part. I was naughty on monday and ate some junk food with my bestie (which is very rare) but today is friday...

maybe im low on something nutritional??

Id appreciate any advice or ideas!

    Thanx

    Shelly

  2. They do suck. A LOT. Mine lasted 6 weeks. That doesn't mean yours will. I got frustrated the first 2 weeks' date=' so I got sloppy. I think that's why mine endured. I think most people stall for maybe a week or two. Just don't let yourself slide. Stay tough and follow the rules.[/quote']

Ive been stalled for 4 weeks. I'm getting really frustrated. How far out are you? When your stall broke how was your weight loss after??? I'm sorta freaking out

  3. Lookin forward to a less sticky New Orleans!!!!!

Hey Shelly! (waving from Covington) Nice to "meet" another N.O. sleever. YEAH, cold like you wouldn't believe. I've been cold since I woke up from the surgery; don't know why. :-) I don't mind it most of the time--wait until you go through this summer--you won't believe how much more comfortable you're going to be in all our heat and humidity!

The other "issue" will resolve with time. Mine actually came BACK after being gone for almost a year (oh joy), the day after surgery!!! If you continue to have problems, definitely check in with your gyn.

  4. Hello, I was sleeved 13 days ago, I'm down 20 lbs -- but I have now had my period for 11 days?!?! For the past 3 or 4 days I have been freezing cold constantly (it's been beautiful 70 degrees here in New Orleans ) I have also been so weak and tired.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this post op??

Ps. I've been doing fairly well with my nutrition so I think it's more period related.

  5. I was just sleeved this past Monday 1/16/12 by Dr. Borland of New Iberia. I have to say that I can’t imagine this being more perfect! The reason I decided to check him out was because of the price, you can’t beat $9800 – once I met Dr. Borland and his staff I was sure this was the doctor for me. The reason the price is so low is not because he skimps on quality, if anything the quality of care is far better than any big hospital experience I have had (where you are treated like a number) Dr. Borland’s prices are low because he truly wants to help people. When you pay the $9800 they ask that you have cashier’s checks made out to everyone involved, i.e.: Dr. Borland $3000 hospital $5000 anesthesiologist $800… and so on. I like that because it’s very up front.

Another reason that I choose Dr. Borland is because he does it out-patient! I HATE staying in the hospital!! I understand if you are higher risk maybe it has to be done. However for me I felt just fine just hours after the surgery and was happy to go back to my hotel room in New Iberia! Dr. Borland visited me every evening and his staff called several times to check up on me. I’m still stunned that he gives his patients his home phone number, but that’s just the kind of person he is!

Dr. Borland gave me a simple 24 hour pre-op diet, which is pretty nice as I can’t imagine how hard it must be to starve oneself for weeks. My post-op diet has been pretty simple as well. This week has been just liquids and Jello. Thankfully I don’t really feel hungry so that has been just fine. I do have some gas pains which I hear are to be expected. I’m egger to start my transitions to normal foods and I’m happy Dr. Borland isn’t extremely strict about time. He allows his patients to use good judgment. I can imagine there are people out there who have dysfunctional relationships with food, and could hurt themselves by force feeding, however I think most people have more sense than to do so.

I am now 6 days out and I have lost 13lbs, and I feel amazing… I can actually put my socks on better today than I could just one week ago before surgery… I am so happy that I didn’t chicken out! The morning of surgery I was a nervous wreck, and scared out of my box – but I’m so glad I stuck with it!! I see Dr. Borland again tomorrow for my one week follow up,*** Come on 15lbs!!***

  7. I just had my surgery Monday. I know every dr is different but my doc just had me fast the day before and do a cleanse with magnesium citrate (which is awful) but my surgery went beautifully. I feel great only 4 days out other than some gas pains. I paid cash. I kinda feel like a bunch if that **** they make you do is for insurance. But when you just fork over 14000.00 cash its kinda straight forward. Just do your thing girl. Do your very best and worst come to worst fast and flush!

  8. quit date is a week after starting--i didn't do it that way, i just took the pills and that was it--i didn't set a quit date or anything--it just happened --my month supply was finished off when hubby took it to quit--daughter got her own and shared it with her sister in law who also quit i know youare not supposed to share meds--but that is what we did and it worked

That's so freaking kool. Well if I'm still freaking out after a couple days I might just call the dr. A storm just knocked the power out in my house. So I'm kinda stressed at the moment. But good news Is there is no way I'd go out in this mess to get ciggs! Ha!

  9. Being pre op I don't think I can afford the chantix. I have budgeted myself so tight just to afford the surgery. My bestie just quit w chantix too. She is doing great! Since last post I have felt a bit better. I'm hoping that the morning will get even easier!!!

Sassy, the carrots are a great idea. I just bought a bunch today for juicing but that sounds like a neat trick!!

Thanks for the support!!!!!!! Ps. Carl has forgiven me for biting his head off. And is being so supportive he is going to give quitting a try himself!!

  10. Ok ya'll I bought an electric cigg and put down the butts today, I think i just broke up with my fiance... Im totally loosing my ****!! I didnt think it would be this bad. This makes dieting seem like a dream come true.. atleast you can still eat something!! This e-cigg is helping with the mental and hand to mouth thing ok, but im still feeling like scratching someones eyes out. Prey for Carl ya'll...

  11. Ok ok. I cab deal with the facial hair. I own a waxing salon so I think I'll be fine. Lol. The Hair loss thing bites because I'm already practically bald on top. But it's exciting that my hair will come back!!! I think my only regret with this surgery is going to be that I didn't do it sooner.

Thank you minimommy. Congrats on your miracle! I know how hard it can be w pcos. I hope you are able to get your surgery, where will you be going?

Does anyone else think it's wacky that 38 is "late" to have a baby? In France most women wait till their 30s before starting a family. Although most other countries dont shove all kinds of junk in the foods that give us infertility like pcos.

    Ok now I'm babbling.

  12. Wow! That's so amazing. I hope that happens for me! I honestly wouldn't even know what a normal cycle is! Mine has been wacky as long as I've had it. I'm going to get my surgery next month. I'm so excited I wish it were tomorrow!

  13. Immediately!! And they aren't superheavy anymore. I know when they are coming and pretty much when they will end!

WHAAAT? I can't even imagine!?!?! I also have a bunch or the pcos symptoms like facial hair and hair thinning on top and cysts/boils on my body. Did you have any of that? If so I hope it's gotten better! The pcos is the main reason for me doing this. I can't stand to live with all this. Plus my fiancées wife passed from cancer that started as pcos. Can you imagine?!? I could never do that to him again. Loosing his wife was very hard on him and being able to open his heart again only to find someone headed for the same place has got to scare him more than he let's on.

Looking forward to having a normal cycle!!!

  14. I'm sooo glad to hear about this. Hubby and I have been trying for a few years now and failing the meds really depressed me. My cousin just had invitro and it worked, but the whole procedure was agony for her. My cycles are regular now that I'm post op and we will try for baby again probably in the fall. :)

Same here girl! How long post surgery did it take for your periods to regulate?
