  1. Hi, I was banded 4 months ago. I've had 2 fills. After the first fill I couldn't eat soft bread, and after this second fill I found I had to be REALLY careful with how I ate everything else - my normal-size bites wouldn't go down anymore and I had to chew everything really well (like you're supposed to). Suddenly the day before yesterday I swallowed a bite I hadn't chewed well enough and I knew right away it would get stuck.... but it didn't. weird..... but it started freaking me out so I decided to test it (probably a bad idea I know)... and nothing got stuck.... I don't know what's happening. Does the band ever slip down instead of up? Or could the band have broken or something? I couldn't have somehow stretched the pocket in my stomach after only 4 months could I have? I don't feel like I've been eating large amounts or anything....

That's one of the things I'm super-excited about! I've been such a food-addict... it's embarrassing how much money I've spent on food in the past - now it can go to much better things (like new clothes!)

    Really?

It would also be there if you've ever google-searched the address of a restaurant, not even necessarily chillis, but any restaurant - and it could be anyone on your computer, if you share it? Anyway, I would take the previous posters advice and google search some stuff you're interested in and spend a couple minutes on other websites - clothing or jewellery, or anything... that will sway the adds for you

    Really?

Hate to tell you ladies... but adds like these are controlled by what you look at on the internet. If you order food online for your family sometimes, then that's probably why the chillis add was there... I only have weight-loss adds.... books, and bands, and programs... and adds for random medical clinics.... because since my surgery is so recent, that's most of what I've been looking at. LBT doesn't have a say in which adds get played here, it's a computer program that looks at what websites your IP address has been on, and chooses adds it thinks you would be most likely to click on. On another point, though... I really do wish we could get rid of the adds in the middle of the forum. those really are incredibly annoying.
  5. So I'm now 5 days out. I'm noticing now that I'm able to drink more and get more in me, that my stomach is really noisy! While I'm drinking I'll take a sip and there will be couple very audible noises as I guess it's dripping through my band. It's even louder with my Protein shake (which is a little thicker)! It doesn't bother me all that much but just wondering - is that part of being banded? Or is that just for now while my stomach is still getting used to everything?

    "Gurgles" When I eat?

Hmm... good to hear from someone who's been banded for a while

Yea, I felt really full after. I think it took a long time to get through my band, haha. I wasn't uncomfortable - just full

The snells got to me today!! I'm still on full liquids, but my family was eating this really yummy chicken for dinner. I decided to just try - and it was okay I chewed on it for FOREVER so it would go down okay. I know I need to stick to the week-by-week plan I have so I heal properly, but it was amazing to have that one bite!

I'm actually not even at mushies yet - but I believe some are.... mashed potatoes... cream of wheat.... and like baby food type substances? I read a post where someone said they used a blender and blended chicken up really finely, then added mayo and some dill for a very smooth chicken salad But I'd love to hear suggestions from people who have done it and made something creative?
  10. Hey all, This is my first time on this forum, and I'm so glad I found it! I just got banded this past Wednesday. I'm having 2 problems I want some opinions on - or maybe just to know it's normal. My saliva is... really slimy. Like thicker than normal. Which as I read, I guess is normal... but it usually seems to be related to food being stuck? All I've had is Water since my surgery. I also have gas pain in my stomach that won't go away - I feel like I really need to burp but I can't. Finally I'll heave a bit (like I'm going to vomit) and then I have what I think is called a PB (Productive Burp?) and I puke up a bit of this super-slimy saliva that I guess has been sitting at the top of my stomach... The gas gets painful enough that I can't drink... I try to force myself to at least have water to keep hydrated, but if I haven't *just* had a PB, then the pressure just builds up and I end up vomiting it all up anyway.... I did go in yesterday and they took out the prime saline, so my band is currently empty... but I still haven't been able to have anything other than water and it's been 3 days... Suggestions? Is this normal? What helped you with the gas pain?

    When will I feel normal??

I just got banded on the 17th. I thought I was doomed until today... I couldn't even keep liquids down... This morning I made a point of walking around as much as possible, and found it *REALLY* helped my gas pain! I also took my gas-x strips WITH warm tea, and that made it WAY more effective. I was able to drink my whole protein shake without any PB-ing I'm not back to 'normal' but... yesterday I was in the same place as you, then suddenly today I'm way better. Don't give up hope! You'll have little break-throughs and it'll boost your hope

Just Banded - Sliming? PB? Gas Pain?

Just thought I'd update that today I was able to drink a full glass of water at a *relatively* normal pace I also actually felt hungry for the first time so ventured my protein shake - and got the whole thing down without watering it out!! When I felt a little bloaty and uncomfortable after, I did a few laps around my livingroom and felt way better. No PBs at all today! Huge success
  13. Hey :) I was just banded this past wednesday - just wanting to get to know some people in my age range going through the same things! :)

Just Banded - Sliming? PB? Gas Pain?

Thanks! I can sip tea, water, and broth, and I had a glass of apple-juice today. I just feel so bloated and full and uncomfortable... tomorrow will be 4 days without anything of substance in me - I guess I need to try watering down my protein shake?

Just Banded - Sliming? PB? Gas Pain?

I'll definitely have to try a heating pad... How long did it take for the gas pains to subside?
