  1. I am getting a band to sleeve revision next month and I was wondering if anyone still gets heartburn after their sleeve operation. My friend that was sleeved last December says that she sometimes wakes up literally choking because of the stomach acids coming up at night. Does this happen to anyone? What causes it and how do I prevent it? Thanks

  2. I have a consultation with Dr. Hollis in Houston tomorrow to see if I can get a band to sleeve revision. I will be self pay since my insurance doesn't cover any bariatrics. Since I will be self pay, does anyone know if I will have to go through all the testing again like I did before I had my lap band put in? Also, does anyone have any idea how much a revision surgery will cost? Thanks.

  3. I have an appointment Wednesday to see if I can get a revision to the sleeve. I am paying cash since insurance won't cover it. I was wondering if I will have to go through all the testing again if I am paying cash. I really don't want to wait another 6 months to have surgery. Also, did anyone have any complications from the revision? Any regrets? Were you finally able to lose the weight?

  4. How do I get back in touch with my band? I got a fill a couple of weeks ago and I can still overeat. I thought the fill would help. I was checked out and everything was fine with the band. The nurse mentioned maybe going back on all liquids for a week and maybe that would help or doing all Protein for a while. Has anyone else been told this to get back in touch with their band? I don't know if I can do a meat only diet. I did Atkins diet one time and got so sick of meat that I couldn't stomach it for a while. I don't think a meat only diet is sustainable in the long run. I need to learn to eat healthy for the rest of my life. Any advice would be appreciated.

  5. I am so glad I found this group. I had my band surgery in Sept 2011 and lost 62 lbs. The last few months I have let "life" get in the way and I have regained some. I was told to go back to the basics but never really understood what that means. I have been told it means to go back to liquids for a week then eat Protein and veggies and no carbs. I was also told to eat whatever but don't go over 1200 calories. I am so confused. I am going to read every post in this group and see if I can get a definite answer on how to lose weight again.

  6. JimmyXXL I know what you mean. I had Fluid removed several months ago and it set me back too. I have been struggling with getting back on track for a while now and have been looking for support as well. I haven't used my fitness pal in a while but need to start again so I can see exactly how much I am eating. My username on my fitness pal is Lisa9258 if you want to add me as a friend.

Songstress It is so easy to eat around the band. Every time I do it I feel terrible and wonder why I keep doing this to myself. Let's all support each other.

  7. Your experience sounds a lot like mine. I was banded in 2011 and had to get an unfill and I gained a lot of my weight back. I have been struggling and would also like to know if anyone has had the same experience we have and how they finally lost the weight.
