Seeing all these lists reminds me of why I had my surgery. Seems like such a long time ago I was tormented with all of these things. Life is so much simpler now. I will not miss those feelings associated with being obese and the social stigma related to it either.

I made my own. I have a nutribullet blender I just put about 3 tbsp old fashioned oats in there and ground it up. Equals about 2 tbsp oat flour.

I'm natural but I would recommend staying away from heat and chemicals for a while. I had super thick hair and it's falling out even with me taking extra good care of it. I couldn't imagine the relaxers damage. Maybe try braiding/weaves/wigs for the time being? It might not be ideal but u can take better care of ur tresses while they're in protective styles.

Right after I had my baby 3 months ago I would wake up and eat "lactation cookies" probably 6 in the course of the night bc I was waking up every 2 hours to feed her. I tried to downplay it to myself cuz they were "lactation" but really it was still butter sugar and flour with some lactation supplement in there lol. Also I lived off Quaker chewy granola bars at one point I was eating about 6 a day too.
I can't even begin to bring out my skeletons from when I was pregnant lol. That is a whole diff story.

Edit. I used 4 fresh strawberries cut up for the cake. And also some cut up strawberries and bananas for topping. So much better than frozen

Leederz got a reaction from Daydra in Those of you that experienced hair loss: How did you deal with it?
In hindsight of course my health is above my hair but at 6 months post op and chunks of hair everywhere clogging up my drain and crying in the shower it was horrible. Thank god I had somewhat thick curly hair so it wasn't much noticeable to others. My advice would be try n get ur Protein and Water so important but also difficult in the beginning. Take all ur supplements plus Biotin. Keep ur style low maintenance. Try not to manipulate ur hair as much.
Now that I'm 18 months post op with a 3 month old my hair did grow back but I'm seeing the shedding again probably from pregnancy. I'm doing more "pre-pooing" which is basically a hot oil treatment before you was ur hair. I use organic unrefined coconut oil for that. It makes ur hair more shiny so u will not have to use as much product. Then I also deep condition and leave some leave-in conditioner in my hair. I try to do styles that last more than a day to avoid excess washing. Also keeping hair trimmed so remaining hair is healthy is also key.
My routine will probably change now that I'm going back to hitting the gym but I will always try n keep those basic keys in mind.
    Water water water.

I can't believe it's already a year since my surgery. I love my results thus far, I still want to lose and it has gotten a lot tougher now that I am past the year mark.
144 pounds down so far and don't regret a single moment of this journey

Well I'm 18 months post op. Got pregnant 6 months after being sleeved. Was 267 went down to 142 when I found out I was prego. My baby is almost 3 months now. Throughout pregnancy I gained 25 lbs and so far I've lost 10. I'm just now getting back on track and eating right. It's difficult keeping up with calories for breast feeding but it's doable. I'm not worried about the last 15 lbs either I know it's going to come off.

Leederz got a reaction from finallymj in Nutrition Problems During Pregnancy
Im 9 months post op and about 10 weeks pregnant.
What a shock to me considering Ive been told my whole life I would not be able to have children because of my PCOS.
I got down to my goal weight of 142 and a couple days later found out Im pregnant. Im totally fine with that I know I can get back down to the weight I want eventually.
My question is with proper nutrition during pregnancy. I still am eating a very small portion...I cant even finish a kids meal in 2 sittings. I stopped drinking my Protein Shakes because Im afraid that they could harm the baby. Everytime I eat a couple of bites my stomache starts to hurt terribly.
Has anyone else dealt with anything like this? Any suggestions? I just want to make sure Im eating healthy enough for two.
    Thanks for any respones.

One tip to keep your shakes cold. I have these ice cubes that are basically plastic and u freeze them they keep drinks cold after 2-3 hours being out the fridge and they dont Water down your drinks. I got mine at Rite Aid pharmacy but I think they also have them at Wal Mart too

I know the first has eggs but maybe u haven't had them like this before

The name of the game here is layering. Read on and see
Spray an 8x8 square pan with Pam or any other nonstick spray, and pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
Pour 1/4 of the egg whites (don't need to be exact here) and place one layer of canadian bacon at the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle about 1/4 of the oats (so, 1/4 c.), and put this mixture in the oven for 10 minutes.
Remove the pan from the oven and add another layer of egg whites, then 1/4 c. oats, then a layer of canadian bacon, then another 1/4 c. oats. Put this mixture in the oven for about 15 minutes, keeping an eye on it, and adding the next layer when this one is no longer liquidy, but not cooked all the way through.
Remove the pan from the oven, add the rest of the oats, then the rest of the egg whites, then place a layer of canadian bacon on the top. Put it back in the oven until the top is firm, if you stick a fork in the middle it should come out clean (like a cake). The top will get a little brown.
When it's done, cut it in four pieces. I re-heat these to take on the go by placing them in the oven at 350 on a piece of tin foil for about 15 minutes. When I'm ready to leave the house, I take it out of the oven, sprinkle a little sea salt on top, and wrap it up in the foil to take it to go!
Another option for re-heating is to place a piece of cheddar cheese on top (or even in the middle, like a sandwich!). Yum!

    Directions
Use the turkey as your shell and put the cheese inside along with the cream cheese. Fold it in half and stick on a hot fry pan, only a minute or so on each side as the cheese will melt quickly!
Garnish with some salsa if desired!

I want to try this one but I haven't yet. I won't make my own sauce. I'm going to just buy a jar of pizza sauce and use reduced fat cheese. If you try this recipe let me know how it turns out.
