    Really Frustrated

This sounds like my story... I finally got snippy w/ the girl who handles submitting to insurance and asked her just exactly when she was going to start doing her job. Long story short, 3 days later, I was approved.

    What Is Your Eating Timeline?

Too bad I didn't have this menu! Lol

    What Is Your Eating Timeline?

mine is the same except 2 days after surgery, clear liquids only, then goes to 2 weeks full liquids.

    Fatigue & Weakness ....

I really didn't want those protein shakes today, but I basically just forced myself to drink them.
  5. You know, It is always easier in life to NOT do anything than to do something. (kinda how most of us became obese) You are doing something!! Congrats to you. I wish you the best. It took me a long time to just get past the idea that people would view me as weak if I have WLS. I am so glad that I finally went thru with this because if I hadn't, I know I would have just kept gaining. We are all strong for making a decision to do something about it.

    Plateau?

Your body is just catching up to itself! Congrats on the 19!
  7. Have you spit up since the beginning? I was sleeved on the 12th and have not experienced that. I am only on liquids though.
  8. Wow.. glad it was caught in time! 32 pounds in 2 weeks?? Can you spell JEALOUS?

    Fatigue & Weakness ....

I totally agree with that! I had my surgery on the 12th. I am doing good just to walk 10 minutes outside when I can. I did it this morning and it was SO stinkin' hot out already, it about made me pass out. I have decided to do my best in getting in my Protein shakes (even though the thought of them makes me want to HURL!) and getting my Water. I am on my 3rd glass of water today. I have also had 2 protein shakes. I am not spasming with every drink anymore so that is a good thing. I am worried that I am drinking too fast and will stretch out my stomach. Is that possible w/ just liquids?
  10. Has anyone mixed in a bit of pb in their protein shake and blended until smooth during the full liquid diet phase? The only stipulation I was given during this phase is as long as I can drink it thru a straw (but don't drink thru straw) I can have it.
  11. Don't give up! I was denied 3 times.
  12. I was sleeved on the 12th. I hate pain meds too. They make me nauseous! I haven't taken any since the afternoon after surgery. I rather just tough it out. I am not in much pain anymore. I just hate the stupid drain tube and will feel so much better once it is out. I, too, despise the Protein Shakes. I am having trouble getting in my protein and water. Yesterday was probably the worst day as far as energy. I was really weak. I haven't walked much and feel guilty about that. I have been getting up and doing things around the house though. I just don't trust walking outside when I am so weak. I have only walked outside once for ten minutes and I was SOOO light headed. I have decided that I am going to force myself to drink my protein shakes first today. I really need my strength back. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know you are not alone! I am feeling the same way. We will get thru this. ((hugs))
  13. We all seem to be having pretty much the same symptoms.... I guess we are pretty average which is kinda comforting.
  14. TY for your answers. Now I don't feel so nervous to add in a spoonful. I absolutely HATE my protein powder.
  15. My NUT told me not to drink thru a straw as well. They just described the full liquid diet as anything you would be able to drink thru one.
  16. I got sleeved on the 12th too. I did have to do the leak test w/ barium. I think you may have just had a spasm. I get a cramping/spasmy feeling w/ almost every drink I take. I am on full liquids right now and am allowed cream soups as well. I can't wait for the mushy/pureed stage. Only 12 more days. Have you weighed yourself yet? just curious to see how much you have lost since surgery. I have lost 6.8 pounds so far.
  17. I had my surgery last Tuesday. Today I am down 6.8 pounds. So I lost 6.8 pounds in 5 days.

    Drainage Bag

    Great advice, ty!
  19. What do you do with your drainage bag when you shower? I am afraid to let it dangle.

    Drainage Bag

OMG.. a lanyard is genius! I thought that the little drain bag had to be lower than the opening in the skin.

    Anyone From Ca

I was sleeved on 6/12 at St. Bernadines by Dr. Khran.
  22. You can buy magnesium at Walmart. It is like $2 something per bottle. If you take it, start out with 250 mg, if nothing, move to 500 mg. I wouldn't jump to 500 mg at first w/o working your way up because it can be explosive. It also helps with muscle cramps.

    Drainage Bag

Mine is 2 weeks! I want it out already
  24. The mineral Magnesium is great for helping you to go! It is cheap too. You don't have to buy the Milk of Magnesium for that.
  25. I had my sleeve done on the 12th. They said I was doing so well that I could leave on the 13th instead of staying the extra night they originally told me I had to. I opted not to leave due to the fact that I was nauseous and dizzy. My nausea finally stopped when I stopped giving myself the pain meds. I haven't had anything for pain since the afternoon after my surgery. I, too, am getting the wierd feelings after I sip. I agree w/ you that it feels like an extreme hunger pain. It is still happening 4 days out. I am not sure when it will go away. I also am having a lot of gas buildup. I know I need to walk more but I am afraid to leave the house and get dizzy when I am down the block. I have walked around my house though. I hope you are feeling better soon!
