  1. Hey Octobers :)

I had my surgery on the 1st of October and so far I have lost a whopping 28lbs lol... looking at everyone else's losses I feel like im oon the slower end but I have i think about 61 more pounds to lose to get to goal so thats sort of exciting... :)

I have not had any issues with any foods or anything like that... not one day since surgery have i experienced heartburn or naseau but i am gassey after eating or drinking.. which i know is normal lol!

glad to see all of the great progress so far!!!

  2. I'm 5 weeks out tomorrow and I got my period about 2 -3 weeks before my surgery... And when I was due to get my first cycle post op I was late... I was sorta scared and worried that I might be pregnant so I too took a test... Negative TG! But about 5 days after that my period started ... Now today its full on and I'm like ugh go away lol!.....

  3. Welcome to VST Matt!!!

the liquid stage right after surgery is sort of an awkward spot for me anyway. Many people just didnt understand what was going on with me when i was on the liquid stage of my post op diet... and I was not always up to explaining why I was doing it.. Energy wise for me, I had my surgery Oct 1 and I was back to work on the 7th. I definitely think that it is doable for you but if you are able to get the surgery a bit sooner.. Id personally do that... only because im impatient and it at least gives you a few more weeks to get yourself ready for this interview!!! .... I wish you all the best and I really hope that everything with your VSG and interview go amazingly for you!! You wont regret it one bit... maybe a little buyers remorse the day after surgery but that will pass :)

  4. Good Morning everyone!

Today I have been officially sleeved for 4 weeks! I have lost a total of 21 lbs and unfortunately i did not take my measurements so I do not know how many inches i have lost but i know there have been alot. Especially in the stomach region and legs!!!! its really nice to be putting on my pants for work and they can literally be pulled right down because they are too big :) There is definitely no feeling like knowing things are working!! I am not disappointed that i have only lost 21lbs because i know that I am already one quarter of my way down to get to goal! Well, I hope that everyone has a great friday and lets work those sleeves girls and guys!!!!

  5. the reason why this article did not SHOCK me is because I know how many people out there in the world are UNEDUCATED about the complexity in regards to obesity. Yes I realized that I should probably do something to live a healthier life by choosing VSG but I also understand the biochemical reasons as to why it is so simple and so difficult to become obese and then try to lose the weight. There is a lesson to be learnt by all of this regardless if we want to recognize it or not. The general public (who has a "normal BMI) has no clue when it comes to the issues involving obesity because their body does not react the same as an obese person. For example we all know countless people in and around our lives who are a normal BMI and eat fast food, junk, and have not experienced weight gain where as the obese can eat whole foods, that is deemed healthful foods and still be obese. Yes life is not fair but writers who are going to post something so uneducated is just asking for a war. Needless to say.. just down right immature.

  6. LOL!! Gayle, I do the exact same thing!! when i realized my weight moved i go to change my ticker immediately! its so funny how that happens but i guess im not the only one that does that!! ... i have just experienced my first "3 week stall" and Im not beating myslef up over it because i know that the body naturally has stalls during weight loss as to adjust to the changes that we are going through! when its over its really amazing and you start to celebrate!!! :D

  7. i just watched the story online and I didnt feel like it was a negative towards the surgery what so ever!! yay for that... and yeah i think Sleeve is going to become alot more popular :)

http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/video/surgery-vertical-sleeve-gastrectomy-11968867 thats the link to the actual video they showed last night on ABC if anyone wants to watch it

Im not even 4 weeks out yet and im down 20lbs .. which is about a quarter of the weight i need to lose to get to goal!! YAYAYAY!! 8)

  8. hey Kerri!

I had the exact same reaction to either the bandaid or spray that they used because I had blisters around my incisions where the adhesive was. I just gently put neosporin on the blisters and they disappaited. They turned into scabs and are gone now... I also stopped covering my incisions about 7 days out.. I think that really helped. I am glad to hear that your feeling better and every week its so great to start on new foods again!

  9. Fleur LOL that was pretty funny.. the whole and a fork thing!!! good one!

my husband and i went out for dinner the other day and im on the mushie stage too... I really didnt want yet another Soup so i ordered the chili that is supposed to go on the nachos and the waitress was a little confused but then i explained that i would like the chili in a bowl without nachos etc. I got my order and when we looked at the bill my chili came to only 2.99!!! Ima cheap date now!! yay!

  10. HEY EVERYONE!!!

today is my two week surgiversary and i have lost 18lbs so far!! :cheer2: Im loving my sleeve although im anxious to get on to real foods soon :) .... I am pretty happy with my results so far.. i want to take advantage of all of the losses as much as i can because i know there will be an inevitable stall coming my way soon... at least i hope not but i am getting mentally prepared for it!!! ... im only 2lbs away from TWENTY and it feels so good to know it will come off and then some... i just have to wait to see the results!! I hope everyone is having a great day today... i know that sometimes things may get rough but we can all Celebrate our small and big accomplishments!!

    xoxoxo

  11. i was sleeved on the first and was back to work on the 7th ... i did not feel like this was an unattainable time to get back into the real world.. i just didnt baby myself and I was definitely a little fatigued but it is absolutely possible and doable... just really depends on how you presonally feel!! on the 3rd i walked around a large outside mall and went to a movie.. i find if your mobile and get up and do some walking around your recovery is potentially alot faster ... but this all depends on how you look at it

  12. OMG... im going to be honest because I was really hoping it wouldnt be that bad but my experience was just insane!! nothing out of the ordinary he just took it out but i screamed so loud im sure the whole wing heard me!! ... it hurt me a little bit but the feeling of all of your organs being shifted by a foreign body really freaked me right out!! I have been told that its different for everyone so hang in there.. once its out its out and you dont ever have to worry about it again!!!! <3
