  1. carbination causes alot of gas in our small tummies.. They say you can introduce it back in if you want but it might be uncomfortable.. I wouldn't know because I too am on my mushies so I'm not one to preach.

    recovery time off work?

i was sleeved on the first and was back to work on the 7th ... i did not feel like this was an unattainable time to get back into the real world.. i just didnt baby myself and I was definitely a little fatigued but it is absolutely possible and doable... just really depends on how you presonally feel!! on the 3rd i walked around a large outside mall and went to a movie.. i find if your mobile and get up and do some walking around your recovery is potentially alot faster ... but this all depends on how you look at it
  3. i would have to say that this is pretty normal .... its a part of the healing process.. its your body repairing tissue and it creates an itchy feeling! hope it goes away sooner rather than later for you!

    Drain Removal

OMG... im going to be honest because I was really hoping it wouldnt be that bad but my experience was just insane!! nothing out of the ordinary he just took it out but i screamed so loud im sure the whole wing heard me!! ... it hurt me a little bit but the feeling of all of your organs being shifted by a foreign body really freaked me right out!! I have been told that its different for everyone so hang in there.. once its out its out and you dont ever have to worry about it again!!!! <3
  5. So, today and part of yesterday I have been almost repulsed by food... im still in my clear liquid phase until tomorrow and i had made up some jello last night for the next day and when i pulled it out to eat i had a small bite and was repulsed, I looked at the broth that i had put aside for the day and was repulsed. I was able to manage to have some broth at lunch and brought the rest home (went to a restaurant with mom) and now its around dinner time.. AND im repulsed by heating it up and eating it!!! what the heck! today is officially one week since my surgery... anyone else feeling like this?

your doing great!!! keep up the great work girl!!!
  13. OK OK OK!!!.... first of all... to everyone who has not had the sleeve yet... DO NOT BE ALARMED!!! we all recover differently from the surgery and you may have bouts of nausea, acid reflux, inability to get all of your fluids in, weakness etc etc etc HOWEVER... coming from someone who has just got off of the boat in regards to surgery, i would have to say that my experience has not been an easy one but it surely is DOABLE! Tomorrow I will be one week out of surgery and I have not had any nausea what so ever and today i have been able to get in about 30 oz or 1L of Water thus far! Im 22 and Im not sure if age has a factor but i would have to say that i am starting to really love my sleeve!! last night i weighed myself for the first time and i have already lost a total of 12lbs!! im 202 now and seeing that number really had me elated. I have been doing alot of walking around since about my 2nd day out of surgery and today im back at work functioning! dont be discouraged it is difficult but not impossible

    getting sleeved today!

hey everyone! I am now officially sleeved!... Its definitely not exactly what I was expecting!... The drain really freaked me out and I was so ready to put something wet in my mouth .... Yesterday was the hardest for me.. The drain was taken out and I think everyone in TJ probably heard my screams! ... Nobody ever prepares you for that or the contast test YUCK!! Today was better.. I got a pedicure and went to a movie (wall street) I drank about one regular sized bottle of water that had cystal lightin it and a grape popsicle.. And that was all I could do today! Tomorrow I'm heading home .. But I'm waiting til I feel more like myslef again! Ugh!.. I'm trying to look into the positives and the future!

    October Surgeries!!

hey everyone.... I'm 3 days out of surgery now!... Things are progressing which is great... No leaks.. But I'm not going to lie I screamed bloody murder when my drain was taken out!... That was by faf the worst!.. Other than that things are ok.. I am sipping walking and resting.. I had some diarehia from the contrast solution but its not that bad... Hope everyone is doing well!!
  20. Dr. Phil had a couple on the show where the wife doesnt want to be intimate because she has gained weight and feels like a failure!!!. Unattractive and less of a woman. This is exactly how my relationship is.. my hubby always tried to help me on all of my diets.. but when i failed and failed and failed.. i felt like such a failure and it took such a toll on our relationship!!.. i feel so bad for her... but when i see her i think to myself, im so glad that will never be me again.. anybody else in that boat with me?

  25. you are going to be making a life altering decision that in most cases enhances your quality of life for not just you but your children too! The risks are so miniscule compared to the benefits!!!... I really hope that for your sake your family comes around and realizes even if they do not agree with this decision.. They can at least show their love for you regardless!.. Afterall, this decision doesn't happen overnight to get vsg or any other wls but giving them the facts might help to simmer them down a bit!!... All the best to you! Stick to your guns on this one and I hope it all turns out for the better
