    Is Vegan life so awful

Well I do eat dairy products. A lot of vegans do drink milk and eat eggs and fish. I just choose not to eat fish. 2 (15-ounce) can no-salt-added black Beans, rinsed and drained 1 egg 1/2 yellow onion, chopped 1 cup whole wheat bread crumbs or I use Italian style bread crumbs. 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon dried basil 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or granules Salt and pepper to taste Hot sauce to taste 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive or canola oil 1 teaspoon of seasoning salt 1 half green pepper chopped Put beans in a large bowl and mash well with a fork. Add egg, yellow onion, bread crumbs, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Mix well to combine then shape into 6 patties. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Arrange patties in a single layer (working in batches, if needed) and cook, flipping once, until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 10 minutes total. Transfer to buns, top with lettuce, tomatoes and red onions and serve. Nutritional Info: Per Serving:290 calories (70 from fat), 7g total fat, 1g saturated fat, 35mg cholesterol, 450mg sodium, 47g carbohydrate (10g dietary Fiber, 7g sugar), 12g Protein You have to remember the carbs will be high because they are beans but these are the good carbs.

    The criticizing bookstore clerk

Not only would I go talk to the manager but I would be writing an email to corporate about her. She is there to sell books not give her opinion on what you are buying. I don't let things like that go when people are rude she has no business working with the public. What if you were buying sexual fantasy books would she have said you can't do that because its for skinny people. Ugh I hate rude retail people.

    Calories Calories!

Depending what your doctor says. I know I did not drink four Protein drinks a day in that stage. I probably had about 800 calories tops in the liquid phase. Right now counting calories is not to worry about for you. Healing is. You have to remember that if you are taking in so many calories on liquids it will be more once you add regular food. I would call your doctor to see what he recommends.

    How many did you get

If a half cup is not keeping you full then eat six small meals a day. At least you will feel fuller longer.

    How many did you get

I know it's aggravating but the slower the fills the better you are at not being over filled. I know you don't feel a difference as of yet but you will. Going slow gives you time to see exactly when you finally feel the difference. I have 3cc's in my band and have plenty of restriction. I got 1.5 both times and it was it. Its been two years since I had a fill. You don't want a large fill then have to go back and get some removed. Its frustrating yes but being too tight is hell.

Post op question- further weight loss

Sometimes when your body gets to the weight it wants to be you can starve yourself and it's not going to budge. You have had a dramatic weight loss and it probably is going to take some doing to get the rest off.
  8. I would imagine anything you touch that can get into your skin you would have to change. I know that diet changes help but if you want to be totally free you have to change everything. Sort of like wls. Your whole life changes.
  9. Its not only about diet change to be gluten free you also have to change your soaps, shampoos, lotions, laundry detergents and many other products. It is just not food.

    Sex and fourplay

Its more important to heal then to service him. I would at least wait three to four weeks so that your healed. You have the rest of your life to have sex. Take care of you.
  11. I love doctors like that because after you lose your weight you can send him a picture and tell him to eat his own words now. Stupid ass doctors. If they are so much in love with the sleeve or by pass then they should have their own office and only see patients who want those surgeries.

Back Pain - why now? Suggestions?

Your body is adjusting to your weight loss. It is normal to have increased pain until you are at a stable weight. Especially for women who carry most of their weight in the breast and belly. The belly is usually the last to go so hang in there. Try some massages or use a heating pad. It just has to work its self out.

    I'm hungry

You are going to be hungry. There are no two ways about it. Now is the time to find other things to do with your day besides thinking about food. Watch a movie, go to the mall, read a book. play some games on line. We all had to go through it. Just keep doing what you are doing and you will get through it .

    Banded 2/24 and have questions!

First of all you are going to be hungry. If you are supposed to be Clear Liquids then don't sway from your doctors plan. You stomach needs to rest so it can heal. When you add food other then clear liquids the stomach has to work hard to process it and your sutures need time to adhere to the stomach. Keep drinking and find other things to do that do not include food. Right now you are going to be hungry. Just wait until your doctor gives you the ok to eat. We all went through it. Its a short time out of your life to become healthy. Stick to the plan your doctor put in place for you and this part will be over before you know it. You will look back and think it really wasn't that bad. Your head is hurting because your body is detoxing from all the crap you have put into your body. You will have a headache that medication will not help. Try some ice or a heating pad which ever feels better. It will be behind you before you know it.

    Why I'm Here

With any weight loss surgery there are complications for some. No one is saying not to post your experience. I am sorry this happened to you. Complications happen but to who and why that is another mystery. If at any time in my life I have to have my band removed I won't even consider either of the other surgeries. I will just say fair well to my band and live my life because I don't let it consume me and weight loss any longer. With any surgery there is a chance of complications, a foreign body inside your body is a chance for complications however I don't believe anyone goes in to weight loss surgery blind and doesn't know at some point there could be complications. I wish you well and hope you get well so you can go on with your life.

    Just had to share.....

    lol he has issues
  20. cheryl2586

    Panniculectomy in 2 weeks.

I would think that during your surgery they would put one on you. That is how I have always seen it done and that is the one you will use until he tells you not too. I would question a surgeon who couldn't be specific about what it is I need to wear after surgery.

The Truth About Life After 'The Biggest Loser'

I used to watch that show but it almost made me think they were torturing those people to lose weight. Who in real life has time to exercise six hours a day. I have a job, a home, a zoo of animals to take care of and the only time I get to exercise when I take my horse size dog for a walk or he walks me lol. I think it is ridiculous that they think this is healthy weight loss.

    Non ulcer dyspepsia?

Dyspepsia is nothing more then indigestion. Most people that have it also have gastritis. The band unfortunately can not get rid of gastritis because its in the portion of the stomach that is below the band. Try eating bland foods for a week or so. You may want to go to a gastro that can give you a prescription for something to calm down your stomach.
  24. Operative gas does not stay in your body more then 48 hours. It should disperse by then. Once the gas is gone it is your vagus nerve hurting. Mine hurt for a year but it was my way of knowing that I was full. Sometimes now I get that pain but only once in a while.
  25. Anyone considering weight loss surgery needs to know that it is not always going to be pleasant (two to four weeks post op of Clear liquids and I did not die). It's going to be a fight until your band is adjusted correctly. You will feel probably for the first time in your obese life hunger. Real true hunger after surgery that you never knew existed. Why? Because we never let ourselves get hungry before. Some of you will get down right pissed off about being hungry and wonder why do I have to starve this isn't what I signed up for. I signed up for weight loss surgery and for the weight to come off instantly and to put no work into it or do anything but sit on the couch and watch my body disappear. Well in the real world that would happen and you can see some cartoon that would represent a fat woman or man who took a magic pill and the fat was all gone. Well let me tell you this: it is not always going to be easy, it is always going to take work from you, it is always going to take patience because the weight is not going to fly off your hips like a stork delivering a baby. It's going to take devotion, restraint, the ability to want to never live in an obese world again. It's going to be down days and no move scale days and everything else in between. food is going to get stuck and you are going to wish that you could just die at that moment because the pain is so bad the food can not pass fast enough. But in trade for all those bad things will come no more back pain, no more pain medications, no more blood pressure or insulin, you will be able to walk a long distance and not need to sit down because you can hardly breathe. You will get the life that you were robbed of because food was holding you captive. You will be able to travel, sit comfortable anywhere your bootay wants to sit. You won't be the fatest person in the room, you will take a million pictures of yourself instead of hiding from the camera. Hard work pays off but the thing you have to remember is that this little thing is there to help you not to do all the work. You will in the beginning have to diet yes diet because the band won't help you in the first months. You will have to have will power from bad foods but you will make it. I love to feel hunger now because that is my body telling me its time to nourish me. But I fill it full of good healthy Proteins, veggies and once in a while fruit. Do I splurge on ice cream? Absolutely because that is one thing I wouldn't care if they made it from grass I would eat it.
