  1. Happy 38th Birthday heatherh!

  2. Happy 37th Birthday heatherh!

  3. Hi everyone, I was banded 8/16 and have lost a total of 13 pounds since surgery (not great, but I'll take it). However, in the last 3 days, I am UP 4 pounds. I haven't done anything different and I'm not eating like a pig. Could there be a problem with the band? Thanks, Heather

    Calling all A11s!!

Day 4 here and I'm feeling better. Still dealing with gas pains in my shoulders but the incisions don't hurt. I'm tired and feeling so, so, so hungry. I've got a strict list of what I can and can't eat and, lemme tell ya, a girl gets tired of jello, pudding and popsicles after a while. lol Just thought I'd check in. Day 4 is much better than day 3.

    Calling all A11s!!

Day 3 here and I'm hurting so much. This is worse than either one of my c-sections or twin pregnancy. lol I had to take an anti-nausea pill this afternoon because I was wretching but other than that, it's the gas pain. It hurts to belch or breath too deeply. I keep forgetting the incentive spirometer (my doc pushes that thing like it was the Holy Grail) but have decided to do better with that starting today. I don't feel like drinking anything other than water. The idea of the protein shake or anything other than water makes me ill. I'm hoping I turn the corner, soon, because I'm starting to really regret doing this.
  8. So, I'm less than 48 hours post-op and came home today to find I had gained 15.5 pounds. They say it's just fluid but I'm freaking out. I look horrible! My face is swollen, my hands are swollen and now I'm so afraid to drink anything else. Did anyone else experience this?

    August 2011 Bandsters????

Tomorrow is my big day and I'm so excited. Everyone keeps asking me if I'm a nervous wreck, so that makes me second guess myself and what I'm feeling. Today is the start of the full liquid diet until 8/27 (surgeon does 1 day of liquids before and 10 days post-op). So far, it's okay. I caught myself putting a grape in my mouth while making lunch for the kids and spit it out. I do have to say I have had inclings of thoughts about whether lap-band was the right choice, but I'm not going to allow myself to go there. This is the start of a whole new journey and I'm excited about the possibilities. Good luck, everyone!

    August 2011 Bandsters????

Hello everyone! My surgery is slated for August 16th here in Virginia. I didn't have to do the liquid diet, although the surgeon usually requires it. I do have to do clear liquids the day before surgery, though. I'm excited but starting to feel like I should have chosen a different path (sleeve, for example). I'm going to stick with my choice of banding, but have heard it is normal to feel some "what ifs?". Anyway, glad to join the group and take this journey with you all! Heather
