yea I sort of thought it was maybe part of the healing process and this was my first surgery so I dont know what to expect or look for. I was told to look out for fever and severe pain and the incision but he out side is pretty much closed and now I have noticed it is a little hrder in tha spot and tension when I stretch . Thanks everyone for sharing it makes me feel a little better .

i have a large know under one of the incisions in my stomach from having surgery. It is a little uncomfortable but not really painful and no fever. It feels almost like the muscle is knoted up under my skin. Has anyone else had this problem?

How long after surgery was it discovered? How did you know?

I had my surgery on the 18th with Dr. Kelly would have been great to have you in our group. All the same it will happen for you and I am wishing you all the best. I had to use my taxes along with a loan from my 401k so I know how it is. I hope it happens soon waiting is the worst

I am here in Mexico now and go home tomorrow I can ask for you
-
Ok so I am here in Mexico and had surgery Friday 2-18. Woke up with the worst pain on my life and don't think my pain was mangaged that well. I did force myself to walk which was good ( I vomited at the nurses station ) but I kept going. I have felt better each day and have been enjoying my stay here. I did book through Sandy but it has been Trish taking us all around . I have not seen as much of her and Dr. Kelly as everyone else says they have but he had a family emergency Saturday. I found his son to be pretty impersonal though but not Dr. Kelly he is sweet. At this point I am noting but pleased with this and would do it all over again in a second. Sandy , Trish & Dr. Kelly have all treated me well. I can only speak for myself but this has been my experience so far .... Keep ya posted

I think it is being away from my kids for 5 nights and feeling scared about Mexico. I am a person who just worries so much !!! I never thought I would break down but I have . I cried at the bank today getting the cashiers check lol felt so silly had to let my husband go in while I was in the car. Not to mention I have sucked at my pre- op diet
-
Ok I have been cool calm and collected all this time and then Saturday I started balling .I know lots of you have been where I am , so how did you get through it ??????
-
I am scared as well but in my mind I think of what I am having done and it calms me I have seen it on YouTube so many times .
-
I understand about being scared. I am a little over a week away from getting my sleeve surgery in Mexico and I am going alone! I just keep on thinking back to all the diets that have lead me to the weight I am, and that I need to lose this weight to be healthy.
You will ultimately have to decide what is best for you. I do wish you the best for whatever you choose.
I will be there next week in the 18th dr. Kelly

Wait.....people actually go to Mexico for surgery??????? What is the benefit of that?
for me the benefit is I could never afford the surgery in the US and my insurance has a restriction on weight loss surgery. You will see several people on this site went to Mexico and several that wish that had.
-
Oh I am going to get the robe, heating pad and slippers tomorrow. The slippers had crossed my mind but never the heating pad or robe . I am so thankful for the suggestions

Ok so I have my gas strips ,travel size goodies and clothes but what else do I need. I was wondering what under garments other found most comfortable as well as what they wish they would have packed. I just wonder if those who went ahead of me can tell me if there was anything they wish they would have brought after they got to Mexico . ?????????????

I went through the web site called aLighterMe but Sheila went directly through Dr Kelly's office

No it's not that off and I did ask but my coordinator and she said it is just a rumor. But oh well I guess I will just suck it up

I booked my surgery back in Oct. thinking I was getting a great deal at $5300. Now I see it getting posted at $4500. I am wishing I would have just waited and got booked it so I could watch the prices. Oh well I am going so I am happy, but lesson learned

THANKS FOR UR ADVICE
I live in TX and yes all the border towns here are scary . I had a friend go with Dr.Rod and love love loves him and she felt safe the entire time. Just dont go out running around the hospital is safe . You will be fine just play it safe . I am useing Dr.Kelly as well but that was just my choice I would have crossed in TX to use dr kelly if I would have needed to I would have prefered to cross TX borders being a Texan myself

I am at Home Sweet Home. I was sleeved on Tuesday, 1/25. For the most part went pretty well. Had a few dry heeves in recovery, then when advanced to liquids didn't have any problems. I am currently mainly sore in my ab muscles to get up from sitting and laying, but I have no problem walking. Also, my stomach seems to be constantly gurgling and bubbling and there may be some hunger pains too, can't really tell. I started on prilosec today. I also do a lot of burping. Does all of this seem normal for being sleeved for 2 days now?
Thanks for posting I am having surgery 2 weeks from Friday so I like to see the updates

I had surgey the same day as you and i have lost about the same . I also feel like I cannot eat as much in the morning as I can in the evening .The sleeve is not just what I expected either I think in my mind it was the magic surgery that would make it all better. I am finding out that I still have to work at it but just not as hard as before the surgery. I do still want to eat bad things and head hunger is a real pain in my a$$ but the sleeve is still helping me. I think in my head I like you thought something different but it is what I have and I plan to do my best to make it work for me . I wish you the best.
