1. Grek79Ital I'm curious so see how you are doing? I'm waiting for my insurance to decide if they will pay for my revision. The doctors office doesn't think they will without the 6 month diet, since I never had one because my first surgery was in Mexico. So I've talked to my surgeons office in Mexico and we have a tentative date at the end of March for revision to bypass if my insurance denies it being done here.
2. may42012 my doctor here in the U.S. said he'd do the revision to bypass but my insurance is very unlikely to pay (even though they say they will) since my bmi is low. I'd have to do the 6 month supervised diet, psych and nutrition classes. If I can afford it I may just go back to Mexico but the revision is expensive. I'm just worried that after 6 months they can still deny the revision and I've wasted all that time.
3. This thread post gives me hope. I had an upper gi done and was told my sleeve is stretched. I have an appointment this week to discuss a revision. My new doctor wants to do bypass and my insurance covers revision. I'm only worried about whether or not they will pay for mine because my bmi is 31. I'm hoping they say it's medically necessary and cover it.
4. It is definitely possible to stretch the sleeve. I had my sleeve in Nov. 2011 and now I have an appointment next week to see about a revision to bypass. I'm only hoping my insurance approves it and doesn't make me do the 6 month diet and all that. I'm dying to see what insurance says. I initially lost 88 pounds and then gained 35, lost 10 and now I can't seem to lose at all, lots of acid reflux.
5. I have an appt on the 10th of Feb to see if this is what we are going to do and if my insurance covers it. It looks like my insurance does but I don't know if I meet the qualifications. They set the appt knowing what my insurance covers so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I was hoping to find someone else who's already had it done also. I'd love to talk to them.

I'm in the northland a lot and would meet with you guys sometimes. I've had to miss the last couple of meetings in blue springs so another meeting would be nice.

Sorry I didn't make it. I'm working 7 days a week with mostly 12 hour shifts. I'll be looking forward to the next one!

Amgood, how did your surgery go? How about you, jrfuerst? We need a new meeting to meet you guys. I missed the last one, did anyone plan the next meeting, if so what's the date?
12. I am 19 months out and I have been at or near this weight for about 10 months. I know most of it is that I've reverted back to some old eating habits (too many carbs) but for the most part, I still eat pretty healthy. I'm not sure what it is going to take to get me back on track but I am so tired of the scale not moving. I've lost about 81 pounds and have 26 to go. In the time I have been stalled I have lost a size or two so I feel good about that but I need to lose pounds. I will start monitoring this site again to help motivate me. I am glad to see this veteran's forum.

Thanks to all of you for the words of encouragement. This site was a blessing to me before and right after surgery.

Sleeve tattoo

I finally got my sleeve tattoo. It says, "l love my sleeve" in Spanish, since I was sleeved in Mexico. Its a constant reminder that the sleeve changed my life.
17. Just wondering, since it's been awhile how you feel about your results and if you would recommend this dr. I'm doing research for mine and it's a daunting task. I'm also curious about the cost. Thanks.

Caffiene

Everyones doctor is different but mine told me to wait until 9 days after surgery. Considering I had to give it up a while before surgery I was counting the days!

Mexico

I went to Dr. Kelly. I think he may be using a different hospital now but the one I went to was clean and they were very attentive. It was like a small town hospital. I would go back in a heartbeat and I would recommend him to my family and friends.
21. Rode my new Harley to work today. It feels so good to be a normal sized rider!

Inner thigh lift and tummy tuck

Amazon13 can you message me with the name of your surgeon? I'm looking into Mexico for ps and don't want a bad one. Thanks. Anyone with a great Mexico plastic surgeon please chime in and help us out. I think this is even more scary than going there for the sleeve.
