  1. So just got the call! Scheduled for July 1st! That is exactly 2 months before my wedding! Do I go for it or wait until after?!? Help! Things just got real lol

I say Go for it. I was 30 lbs down 2 months after surgery but I'm a slow loser so for you it might be more. And it was noticeable. That's if you would like to look slimmer.

Now if you want to enjoy and eat and drink and have fun then wait. This way you can eat a regular size meal with your family eat your cake drink wine and other stuff you won't be able to eat after surgery.

You sound like you don't mine waiting a few more weeks so if you could wait it out do so and enjoy your wedding.

If I were in your shoes I would have done it because I was just desperate.

But my psych gave me some good advice when I saw her in November..... Wait until after the holidays and enjoy.

My opinion if you don't mind waiting then wait. Ou can always renew your vowels next year with the new you.

    Congrats!!!

  2. Nope not stupid at all. 12 weeks out as of tomorrow and full to has always felt like taking a bite of a huge bagel without butter cream cheese... With out anything. Just dry. And feeling it go down slowly... That's when I know I'm full when those extra bites feel that way. By everyone is different so ppl might have a different feeling and describe a different scenario. Good luck.

  3. I am 10 weeks out and down 32lbs. Your body is still adjusting. Try contacting your nutritionist. I have hit several stalls. I try to eat every 2 hours and drink as much liquid as possible. Everyone is different. at 5 weeks i was only 17lbs down. Believe me the slower the better. Don't get discouraged my starting weight was 265 and I know that without the sleeve I would have been somewhere in the 270s already. Good Luck!

  4. Hey Jenny. Congrats. I am 23. 10 weeks out and I am 32lbs down. Today, my only regret is not getting this done sooner. My BIGGEST supporter besides my immediate family is everyone on this site.

Without this site I would feel so alone because no one else knows what your going through. Ask away!! Good Luck and congrats again.

  5. I hope u are and they sprout wings soon. Cuz they are creeping at a snails pace right now!!!! Lol

I started my 6 months last year in April. Just try to do all your pre tests before your 6 months this way once September comes you'll be 100 percent done and then you can proceed to submit to insurance. I procrastinated a lot. September came and left and I still hadn't seen the pulmonary specialist or gotten a psych eval. Then They submitted to my insurance got approved and need to wait 1 month and a half to finally meet the surgeon but 1 weeks before that I got a call that my hospital will no longer take my insurance. I was so depressed. but thank goodness i saw a few other docs during my process (in hopes to find someone who would tell me i didnt need the 6 months and all the extra pre op exams)

Anywho sorry for the long story. Good luck!

  6. Hello everyone - I haven't logged on in awhile because I was getting a bit discouraged at how much the weight loss slowed down. I'm right at 5 months out and would say that I have settled into a rut. I upped my daily calories because I was really stuck in a stall for quite a few weeks. I had honestly reached the point where I figured I was done losing weight. I started at 257 and I'm down to 190 today. That's 67 pounds in 5 months and I know I couldn't have lost that on my own.

I'm happy with where I'm at but I'd still like to lose the last 33. I'm giving myself until the end of December 2013 to do that and it's achievable. That's about 5 pounds a month and I can do that!!! The gym is my enemy and I force myself to go at least 4 times a week. Looking for other ways to get cardio and toning in. The gym is boring to me. I recently upped my calories from 800 to 1200 daily and actually lost 3 more pounds (I'm a believer now!).

I can eat most anything - just in much smaller portions. I have started losing my hair but I knew it was coming so I was prepared. It's not coming out in handfuls - I just notice a lot more in the bottom of the shower. It's a small price to pay for how I look today. I was in a size 24 pant and 2XL tops (really more comfortable in a 3XL but my body ignored that logic). I'm now in a size 16 (loose) pant and a large top. I've replaced my wardrobe completely including shoes. I had no idea my feet would shrink too. I've lost LOTS of inches - but don't know how many because I haven't done a comparison lately.

At the end of the day I made a great decision. Insurance would not approve so I paid 100% of all costs myself. It has been worth every cent. I have energy I never had before and I'm a happier person. So if you are on the bubble trying to make a decision - I say go for it. You are worth it.

Congrats. Your under 200 in 5 months. That is my goal lol. The other day I was a little upset and discouraged and a strange thought came to my mind. I would have probably been up 5 lbs instead of down 32lbs if i hadn't gotten sleeved 10 weeks ago. This thought gave me so much motivation. I found a pare of slacks size 16 i'm not sure who the own of this was (whether it was my moms or my old pants) but when i slipped that baby on without any issues I was in a daze.

People at work notice every single day that i am looking much slimmer. I am so happy. I am 6 lbs away from being 227 which is how much i weighed when my bf and i started dating 5 years ago. I remember being comfortable at 227 so I can imagine when i hit 199.

I'm looking at the bright side of this all and i couldn't be more happy. Congrats!

  7. Congratulations to you 67 lbs is a lot. Hang in there. I haven't been sleeved yet. I am waiting to see my surgeon. I have been reading stories after stories and what I am realizing its that the people who consistly have the drastic losses are doing low carb high Protein diets. This is what I normally do also. I'm not a calorie counting person. Good luck and hang in there you are doing great.

After surgery that will be your basic diet instructions. Low carbs or no carbs and all the Protein you can get.

  8. My first stall happened 5 days after surgery. I was stalled for 4 weeks. Then I lost some lbs for 3 weeks and then I stalled for 3 weeks. I lost more lbs and now I'm stalled again. I am convinced that is how my body is working. Lose the weight stall for a few weeks lose some more. Be patient. Remember everyone is different. Good Luck!

  9. I guess some people do it to be nice. IDK. but they don't know our struggle. People constantly told me your not that fat, your too young, it doesnt work. blah blah then you dont do it!!!!.

If i listened to these people I would not have been weighing 233.9lbs today (10 weeks out) I would have probably gained 5 pounds and have been eating all the wrong stuff. When they tell you that next time just tell them thank you. SO imagine how great i'll look after surgery! Good Luck!!! these next 4 months will fly by.

  10. I can understand if she wants to cover up her surgery with that pill its no biggie because she isn't hurting anyone and she is only fooling herself . But to lie to people. And she was most likely vulnerable just like everyone who just wants a quick fix. Why doesn't she just say the truth I had this surgery and when i couldn't lose that extra 3 lbs this pill helped me.

She is not a friend. I would be ashamed to do something like that. I feel like there are a lot of people out there like her and we will never know.

I remember saying things like why this person lost the weight and i couldn't. I would call her surgeon lol not to be mean but that's fraud and probably illegal.

Please don't trust this friend because if she's doing this to strangers imagine what she would do to you.

  11. Congrats... I will be 2 months out on Monday. If i were getting married in 2 weeks i'd be a little stressed especially since i've hit my second stall.

I'd want to lose a little more before. Than I'd be worried about my wedding dress not fitting me well HOWEVER... i am 27.3 lbs down and you can really tell and I would be very happy to have at least lost some lbs before the wedding.

I can eat a little more now... so my only worry would be feeling too full when eating but its all about control.

You will be fine. believe me. i feel really good now. No pain at all and no difficulty eating or drinking has long as i take small bites and chew chew chew. Congrats!!!

  12. And you know this how? please leave this man and his family alone this is his choice; not our's if it works fine and if it don't work it is him not your choice' date=' good lord we don't own this man just because he is a governor.his personal life has nothing to do with us.[/quote']

Honey relax. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Don't take it personal it wasn't about you.

  13. He seemed so confident with his weight and I never thought it was an issue for him. In a recent interview he talked about a meeting with a Dr who liken WLS to surgery to remove a disease. Most don't look at obesity as a disease. They just see us as fat overeaters.

    Good for him.

That's awesome I love kris christy. It was about time too. But unless he has the mindset for it..... I c him getting sleeved in the future.

My surgeon refuses to do the lap band on his patients. He says the only way he'll do it is if the person is too over weight. He do the lap band have them loose 100lbs and then do the sleeve or bypass.

  14. I just started my second month with nuvaring. So far so good.

My doctor gave me nuva ring last Saturday. I have no idea how to insert it. This is very awkward. She told ,e to tell my bf to do it for me. It's been sitting there all week though.

  15. I had health first with Medicaid n had to do six months n all the other stuff I did all of that but while I was doing the six months I became pregnant n miscarried n was told I had to start over cause my doctor didnt want to see me while pregnant.. But I recently switched insurance to metro plus no six month wait just have to do psych ' date=' GI ,endoscopy ,2 Nug appointments ultrasound ,n support group thinking everything should be done this month and I have to do sleep study.. Ughhhh[/quote']

Wow excuse my language but your doc is a bi**** for not letting you just finish. I'm sorry about your miscarriage. I was to,d to change to metro plus too but when I was changing it I thought it was health first. Good luck hope everything goes well.
