  1. Day one and day two of my prep diet was the worst. I was mean and cranky. Wanted to strangle everyone who was around me. Had a huge headache and wanted to eat everything I saw and smelled. When I woke up on day 3 something told me to weigh myself and boy was I glad I did.. I was 5 lbs down and could not believe it. It motivated me to stay strong and I actually did. After day 3 everything was fine. I was no longer hungry moody or thinking of food. Good luck.

  2. It was difficult for the first 3 days but then everything just got normal. The month off really helped me alot.

Work cannot tell you when to return. Your surgeon can. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen if your job tells you when to return to work after a major surgery. Especially if your doctor gave you a specific time to return. Follow up surgeons advice. He/she is the expert not hr. they are thinking about the company and not your health. Good luck.

  3. Hi' date=' I need some help. I was sleeved on April 12th. I was 212 before surgery was 204 the day I got home from the hospital. Since then I've only lost 2 lbs and it has been a week since I've lost anything. I'm getting all my liquid and Protein. In addition to Protein Powder shakes I'm eating yogurt, milk with cocoa, lots of Jello, chicken broth, lentil Soup, refrained Beans, cottage cheese, no sugar

My calories are around 500-600 generally though today I'm closer to 800, Protein 60-70, carbs around 50g of carbs. I know a stall is typical at 3 weeks but at week 1.5? What am I doing wrong. My dr.s diet doesn't suggest any meat until solid foods and I have an egg allergy so it can be difficult to keep the carbs low.

I have absolutely no restriction at this point but I understand that is normal at this point.

Also, I admit I haven't done much exercise do you think at 2.5 weeks out I can start to ride my stationary bike? Is it safe?

    [/quote']

I was stalled for almost 3 weeks after my first week post op. I started losing again after I went back to work. I was told this is normal.

The most you can do right no is be patient because your boy is adjusting to the new changes. No exercise until your cleared by your doc. For now walk walk walk walk walk. Believe me it will help. Also your a low bmi'er which is probably why you haven't lost anymore yet. Again your body needs to adjust.

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck.

  4. I am 7 weeks out and have lost 23 lbs. It's kind of slow but thats ok. I have to say that I eat quite a few

things that I shouldn't. I eat whatever the family is eating' date=' I eat too many sweets, and I don't chew slow

    enough.

All the suggested eating plans are not without merit! I would probably lose a little faster if I cut out the

sweets and carbs. But I don't wanna. There is no way I am eating over my calorie limit in a day. I'm a slow loser anyway. I'm not complaining though. I have the rest of my life to lose what I want to lose and I'll take it as it comes. I figure all of us sleeve people should just try to live life, eat pretty well and not be

gluttons, and be happy that the weight will come off in good time. Like in the song - Don't worry be happy:)[/quote']

I'm six weeks out and I'm 24lbs down. I'm not following the rules to the t. I agree with eating as normal as possible. I've had sweets but only once. Had a tiny piece of cake at work during an event. I don't eat carbs cuz it does make me bloated so I can imagine now post sleeve. I think the most important part of all is that we get in out Protein, Water, and Vitamins while trying not to go back to our old ways.

  5. Does anyone know if the total lean shakes from GNC are safe to drink?

They are but they are so yucky. Well to me they are. I tried the already made shake from gnu fridge and it was okay. I have two big containers one French vanilla the other banana and I have not used it. But you might like it. I've tried a few more like Isopure, premier and some other ones and they did not help. But everyone's different. Ask for a sample before you buy them. Good luck!

  6. So nervous. I did cheat today and drank.bottle of wine with new .husband. getting sleeved from band Tuesday. Only have 35lbs. To lose. Worried this might be extreme. Scared. Any words.to inspire?

I don't consider wine as cheating... Maybe a quarter pounder or snickers bar or soda. Don't be afraid. You've been through this already with the band. It's not as easy as ppl here make it seem the first few days were a little difficult but I took some great advice from some friends on here and the nurses at the hospital. WALK walk walk. Please as soon as the doc says its okay walk around the halls. It will speed up your recovery and help release the gas pains. Good luck you will all do fine. Keep us posted and see ya in the losers bench!!! :-)

  7. Very nervous and excited. Have been on liquid diet last 2 weeks. Have to say I did not cheat and I quit smoking on the 10 th! Wish me luck for tomorrow and say a prayer pleae

Good luck. Everything will go well. Please keep us posted once you can. And please walk as much as you can as soon as they give you the okay to move around. It will help towards a fast recovery. Good luck again and remember walk walk walk.

  8. I'm afraid of the IUD cause I hear If you haven't had kids they have to inspect to see if its going to fit right but I don't want anything falling out or going through walls >.< I have never had kids so I chose the shot but I have been on it for years and If used for a long time it can cause bone density. So idk what to use now' date=' I hated the ring and I can't remember pills lol[/quote']

I never had kids either. She told me mirena is for women who've never had children. I'm not a fan of birth control period. The side effects sound awful for all of the, and I don't want to minimize any chance I have of having babies in the future. But for now I don't want to get pregnant until after my 1 year surgiversary.

  9. I had a ring. Hated it. I took the pill for about 20 years (ages 13 - 35ish) to control my heavy flow and after all that time, you'd think I'd mastered taking it daily. As soon as I got the ring, I popped it in (HA! As if it is THAT easy!) and forgot about it. It would be in there for 45 days, 60 days, etc. Never did I remember to change it.

My Mirena, I LOVE. I am on my second one. My period is one pink wipe every few months, my debilitating cramps are gone, it lasts for 5 years with no problems and it took about 15 seconds for my doc to insert. It hurts like a b***h on the way out, but that only takes about 30 seconds, too, so it's totally worth it.

I have no idea how to pop this in lol. Gyn told me to tell my bf to do it for me. I always forget to take them and I originally asked for the IUD but she recommended that instead. Oh and she's never heard of the vsg which concerned me a little. Her recommendation was to according to my sleeve.
