So this is very random and really has no point but I wanted to share this.
I ate a PB+Jelly sandwich (no crusts, measured) and had no blockage!!! Like my title says, I havent been able to eat one since my surgery almost a year ago.
I know its time for another fill, havent had one in almost 5 months but I dont need them anymore. The band has given me that kick in the ass I needed to get a jump start at loosing weight and now its all me! Im glad I stayed true to myself and found the will.
Thanks for reading...
oh the small things!!!

I see your toke and raise you a "rave". Im a raver, casual 420 smoker and Ive had no issues. Its all good in moderation. Take things slow see how your body reacts to anything and make your own decision is what I say.
Ive actually noticed that I have less blockage after I smoke and have the munchies...food just glides in. So, I prepare before hand some food where I wont feel guilty after and if I do eat something that is terrible but terribly good Ill just put a workout before or after to "ease" the guilt.

I dont remember what happend :/ I know he talked to my gf. Hmm funny.

Lipbalm, I bought a pillow cushion thing that has armrests. It helped sleeping the first couple of days, Id sleep in a semi sitting position.
I didnt have anything to drink for the first 3 days, Drs orders. The Lipbalm saved my life and those things they give you in the hospital to moisten your mouth etc, grape flavor.

Its an effective tool and requires work. I felt the same way about my surgeon but I figured since the other surgeries are more expensive he was trying to upsell.
Its perfectly normal to question if you are choosing the right surgery, you should feel more confident as you do more research etc.

damn it...I had typed this really nice response and accidently clicked to a different screen and it erased. fml.
in a nutshell. band is the single best thing i have ever done for myself, by far. I dont regret it a bit, by the time you know it youll be post of basting in your own success. I cant believe its almost going to be 1 yr since Ive gotten banded and I am more than half way thru my personal goal. It took me over 2 years to get approval (primarily bc I wasnt serious about it in the beginning, once I did get serious I was done with all the requirements and approved in 7months)
Remember that its not a miracle, it takes work and effort every single day and time you think about food or eat. It is a wonderful tool that will be of great help. Statistically the avg lapband patient looses 50lbs (so ive read). Its up to you if you want to be a statistic, I decided I am not. Ive had 3 fills and do not plan on having any more because Ive gotten to a point where my food choices and exercise routine are helping me loose more weight than eating less with the band. Plus its easier. The band took me up to 60 lbs (I didnt follow the dietitian meal recommendations, just ate a lot less to avoid blockage). I believe ive lost more inches than weight and its awesome. I am a new person and enjoy working out now and eating salads! I didnt really care for them before but since they are the 1 thing that hardly gave me any blockage and I could endulge in (old habits of stuffing my face).
I hope it makes sense, sorry for the grammatical errors but I had to rewrite it .
Stay focused and fire any questions you might have my way.

take it day to day...so far you are doing good modifying your habits you just need to break the scale one ....it will take some time. Try giving yourself small intervals of 2 weeks between weigh ins...then extend it to 3 etc. until you are sitting at month to month.
Ive done so many "no-nos" since being banded I learn day to day even now almost 1 yr later... I dont regret them they are a lesson learned. Dont beat yourself up, there are too many good things to look forward to

my advice?? try sticking to the diet as close as possible... (I didnt ) I dont regret it nothing happened (no complications) just that I would be a lot closer to my weigh loss goal thats all.
Happy Banding, keep us informed

sorry to hear...Ive never had blockage that bad I must be honest. Sometimes when I have blockage and I know it isnt going to stay Ill literally chug something carbonated so that it can come out with pressure. I wouldnt recommend that unless you are truly desperate and out of options...
I recommend you get some fill taken out..had you had a fill recently? was it too much perhaps?
-
I'm not really sure its possible since its made out of plastic...if anything it would tear but that is probably 1 out of 1 billion under an extreme circumstance.
You body tells you right away when something is wrong...as a matter of fact it tells you when you have blockage (food isnt passing thru).

Well with yur first fill the doctor depending on his method will fill from anywhere of 0.50 to 4.0 + cc's into your lapband. This is what I have read from other peoples posts. He will test to see if you are able to swallow Water or and even do an xray type test. Mine got me 6cc's and when we realized it was hard to swallow water he removed 2cc's and only did the water test. Good luck.

I came on here because I was thinking the same thing. Got my first fill Dec. 8th and I've lost 24lbs since then, I have my next appt early Feb. and I wasn't sure if my Dr. would recommend another fill or not. From the looks of it, it looks like a negative.

Wow didn't know of their new menu items. Haven't had chickfila since my surgery in Oct. so I am looking forward to it! Thanks!

I was advised 2 weeks, and that was probably the only Dr. order I did follow.

I came across my resolution list for this year that's about to end, and couldn't help and notice how I only completed 1.5 out of my 10 resolutions. Getting the lap band was my only completion! and the most important I must say...
At any case, I want to start working on the list for next year...what will yours include?
If you are interested in viewing my list for last year, its quite amusing check it out http://blackcadillacs5.blogspot.com/ (LOTS OF PROFANITY, SORRY)

You need new friends! Start with the ones that are supportive...dunno who they could be...

it takes a couple of weeks for that to heal properly and by that I mean the fact that the surgeon "usually" sows the port to the muscle. It will be sore and sticking out (swollen) for a while ....its ok. If the pain worsens or continues then talk to your surgeon.

Biggest fear was not loosing any weight. There is a small percentage of people that the band doenst work for...I am NOT ONE OF THOSE! HA! Love the decision I made. Period.

Thanks so did you just do shakes again because u needed more Protein or why? I hate all types of shakes even milkshakes with real nice cream ! Also does this get easier do you feel like u know what u r doing more now how often in 2 months did you get filled? Are you happy you did it how gas weight loss been so far
Well after the fill the Dr. said to be on liquids again for 2 days...its the only thing that will keep me full, I hate broths. On the 2nd day after my fill I ate 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes and they were fantastic! LOL. How do you hate milkshakes? It gets terribly easier...especially if you didnt have a fill with your surgery you can pretty much eat normally but like I said if you eat to fast it will hurt. I am making my own way pretty much, guess I am a rebel, I do my own thing and part of the Dr.'s orders. Its my first fill since my surgery and Dr said for me to go back once I feel that I need to...weird right?
Words cant express how great I feel I did this...Weight loss varies depends on what I eat and if I over ate (before 1st fill cant really over eat now =[ ). You will look back and see that this is just the tiniest tip of the iceberg.

yes it was amazing... like I mentioned in my post it was measured, wheat bread...however I did use real fruit jam. No crusts though! never liked them anyway.
washed it down with a cold glass of fat free milk. Best lunch in a while.
