What to take to the hospital

I took my iphone, wallet and me! -
Very normal, you are only drinking fluids so they drain through you sleeve fairly fast. I suggest you get some sugar free popcicles they have been my crutch.. If you really hate the thick shakes try Isopure from GNC mixed with no sugar added fruit juice and a shot of MIO strawberry/watermelon drink enhancer... This is the only way I could get it down you might like it as is, i did not.. it has 40grams of protien per bottle... plus it will help you get in some of your fluids... try the green one not sure if it apple or watermelon flavor...but its the best one...IMHO...... Good luck and welcome to the group...

newbie, slipped band, looking around
razrbakcrzy replied to melissa71's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I myself had a very good result, My sleeve was by far the easiest recovery I have ever had from a surgery and I was back at my desk 5 days after surgery... No complications and the weight is flying off I amd just about to go back for my six week appointment and i am down about 30lbs from preop weight... I would say you will be able to tell how bad its going to be on the morning after surgery. I was up and dressed 5 minutes after they did my dye test.. In the car on my way home by 10:30am... I slept the rest of that day and took it easy the next day, then sat through a 3 hour transformer movie the next day, doctor appointment on Monday and back to work the next Tuesday.. good luck! -
Congratulations and welcome to the club!!!

Does Gastric Sleeve Surgery "cure" diabetes?
razrbakcrzy replied to MINI-Me's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The real issue is if you are a genetic type II diabetic versus an obese type II diabetic... With genetic type II diabetes your pancrease puts out less insulin than your body needs to deal with the sugars of every day life. Hence the 28 year old that suddenly needs to take a sugar pill but is clearly not overweight in any way. With obese Type II diabetes you have by the shear reason of being overweight made yourself into a diabetic. You either take in excess sugars far outpacing your pancrease's ability to deal with them or your body holds so much fat that the pancrese stops functioning appropriatley.... Obese type II diabetes can be cured with WLS, genetic type II diabetes may be brought under control with WLS but not cured.... -
i'm not bragging but trying to handle the equiptment and the underwear and the pants is just to much, I unzip reach in and whip it out... I have never had a problem, i have plenty of distance from the stream to the pants. I have never urinated on myself. no dripping issue if it's out far enough... Sorry!

Sorry for sticking my nose in here to what may be none of a males business, but maybe all of the exercising is geting in the way of normal estrogen production. My wife is a fit person and has always been so even when I weight 470lbs she was 110lbs and 5'-4" tall. She had an episode while training to run several 5k's where she lost all libido....and was she ever frustrated!!!!! it just would not work.!!!!..She eventually went to her Gyno doctor who helped her pin point that all of the increased training she was doing had her production of testosterone and estrogen all messed up and this made her feel less like having sex. I am not advocating for you to stop exercising just saying you might want to bring it down a notch to see if anything changes.. SHe backed off for 2 weeks and bingo bango right back in the groove... Hope this helps...

I previously suffered with Diabetes as well as High Blood pressure which somtimes results in low Testosterone levels in Men over 40... My doctor started me on Testosterone injections about 8 months before my VSG surgery and wow did stuff in our sex life change. Now, I had some shrinkage of the boys but Big brother responded well...!. then also with the increase in energy level and geting my Diabetes under control I subsequently lost about 75 lbs pre op..I was 470lbs December of '09 and pre op I was 387lbs June 29th '11 now i'm 367lb and the wife and I are like excited teenagers again. After 25 years of marriage we are going strong like when we were in our 20's WOW....! and now while laying on my back I can see big brother again when in an excited state.... :-) Stuff does change!!!!!
