FWIW We don't have a pouch, nor do we have a stoma. We have a fully functioning teeny tiny stomach. So the article above regarding stretching of the pouch and stoma would not apply to us.
And honestly the bubbles would not at all have the strength to stretch anything...we'd burp before that happened.

HDubSleevery got a reaction from Jbr043 in Squash Casserole
I subscribe to a local food co-op so every two weeks I get a bag of fresh veggies delivered to my door. This week's box had some fresh yellow squash but other than sautee it, I had no idea how to prepare. Since I am on mushies I started looking for a casserole that had a lot of flavor. This is what I found:
2 lbs of squash (could mix with zucchini if you like)
    1 medium onion
1 can cream of mushroom Soup
    2 eggs
    2 cups of cheddar cheese
    1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
Here is where I made some changes...
1 - Slice the squash and onion either steam or boil or sautee until soft. I chose to steam the squash in my microwave steamer until it was soft. I didn't have any onion so I swapped for a packet of onion soup mix.
2 - Drain the squash/onions and mix with the soup, eggs, and cheese. I wanted a really mushy texture so I used one egg and mozzarella cheese. I love garlic so I used a can of cream of mushroom with roasted garlic campbell's soup.
3 - Spread the mixture in a casserole dish (I used 8x8 but I doubt it matters much). Bake on 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
4 - After 25 minutes, sprinkle the bread crumbs over the top and bake for another 20 minutes or until brown. I had plain bread crumbs and seasoned them with onion and herb Mrs. Dash, parsley, and cracked black pepper. I spread them on the casserole and then sprayed them with ICBINB spray.
It was kinda ugly to look at but it was a great flavorful departure from cottage cheese, yogurt, pudding, and applesauce. Plus I used up my squash!

HDubSleevery got a reaction from To Be Thin 2011 in sundae???
I tried some thinking it would be a good change of pace but oh man was I sick. I have developed lactose intolerance plus the issue with too much sugar at one time. I was miserable for about an hour.

HDubSleevery got a reaction from markajd in Any binge eaters who had sleeve?
I was a binge eater. I couldn't even control it to stay on my pre-op diet. I was too ashamed to admit it to many people before. I binged in secret once I got home. I would eat until I was overfull and too miserable to move for the rest of the night. I have seen counselors and even tried OA (along with all the counseling in all the different diets). I had gotten to the root of my issues, but it still didn't stop the behavior.
For me, food in mass quantities was just too accessible to me. I could always find an excuse why I was binging. It's been 11 days now and other than the occasional "mental food pity party" it really hasn't been bad at all. I haven't had any real cravings for anything other than different flavors of Water or Protein shake. I got some sugar free pudding and thought I would go to town on it, but after 2 bites I was full and satisfied - not even overfull.
For me, this surgery was the best thing I could have done for my binges. It is a tool that helps to keep me from hurting myself. Some people take drugs to help them live a better life, and I had surgery. I don't view myself as any different from someone with a disorder. We as a society don't look down on people who use Botox for Migraines so my sleeve is my Botox.
